I've been playing a lot of old (90's) PC games and I find that the faces look a lot more realistic. By this I mean that I find something like http://image.jeuxvideo.com/images/pc/a/r/arxfpc019.jpg to look a lot more like a real life person than someone in something like Skyrim. Even looking at next gen E3 stuff, everything is just getting more and more hi-fi yet unrealistic. This doesn't really have much to do with the main topic in this thread, but the title made me want to post this here.

I still haven't played Skyward Sword (outside of playing it as PAX 2011) so I'm not that bummed. I still need to get a Wiimote Plus.

So I'm reviving this thread because I saw that the new Duels of the Planewalkers game is going t have drafting in it, which makes me really want to get it. Havign a sealed format makes the game completely different and I imagine it will be the most popular form of multiplayer in the game.

So I bought Trine 2 yesterday since it was 80% off. I played most of Trine by myself (meaning I played Trine by myself and played through most of it), but I thought it might be worth seeing if anyone wanted to play Trine 2 (or Trine 1) co-op. I don't know if co-op is more or less fun than playing solo and switching characters, but playing with other people is generally more fun regardless.

Oh I forgot to mention that I got the 3 pack (it was $8 for three copies of what is normally a $19.99 game) so if anyone wants to play, but doesn't have the game I'd be happy to gift them a copy.

Has anyone read My Friend Dahmer? I think it's coming up soon on my list of graphic novels to get (not a real list, just a mental collection of books I want to get around to picking up at some point).

They also said you can start playing while the game is downloading right?

You didn't miss much

There's also the fact that you get free games with Plus.

PS4 looks to be in quite the lead now.

Mirror's Edge 2. I'm not even fucking joking.

It's a prequel so her shoes haven't become cool yet. You get the cool shoes at the end of the game. -
Ew, fuck those, they're worse than stepping on Legos

I'm probably going to build a new PC at some point in 2013 and it will for sure cost more than getting the XBone and PS4, so I can't really complain as far as price goes.

All my friends who play Xbox don't even really know that this is even a thing. I was visiting a bunch of friends in Santa Barbra a few weeks back and I said something about how the new Kinect can see your pulse and my friend said "They're coming out with a new Kinect?". They weren't even aware of the PS4. I'm pretty sure that them an all their friends aren't going to pay any attention to either of the new consoles and are just going to see commercials on tv once they're released and just go to the store and buy them and probably FIFA and CoD without really thinking about it.

Are you one of those Kunkka's who stops at level 2 on X, or do you go all the way? When I first got Dota 2 I think Kunkka was my most played hero, but I haven't played him in probably a year now, I miss him.

Idle Thumbs 109: Prepare for the Jelly

I bought Xenoblade when it came out, but decided I wanted to play it via Dolphin because it's super gorgeous looking and I wanted it to look as good as possible. I then saw that that there's a really good looking HD texture project for it that you can use with Dolphin (and I don't even normally use/like hd texture packs), but the end result was that my PC couldn't run the game at a playable framerate. The current plan is to play it when I get a new PC at some point in the future, but I would probably enjoy it just as much if I were to just play it the old fashioned way now. -
Neptune's Bountiful Pride: The Sequel
TheLastBaron replied to Murdoc's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Originally the three of us in the south were only interested with ourselves since in the middle of the galaxy me and Rodkin both had walls of stars that stretched the entire width of the nebula so the only threat would be from someone who first tried to plow through Rodkin and then through me to get to the rest of our stars (Me and Rodkin had had an alliance since the start of the game which basically created this situation and I didn't think he (she) would make a move since it would make an opening for Famous to move in form the other side and at this point he was in first place by a comfortable lead. Me and Roll had an alliance and Dickhead was basically done, but we realized after the two afk's that there were enough stars for Famous to win the game before ever even getting down to use so we called a cease-fire and focused on him instead. -
Trine 2 is 80% off today on Steam, making it $3.99 for the Complete Story edition. I picked it up though I probably won't get around to playing it for a bit. How is multiplayer? I played Trine 1 completely solo and the idea of 3 people each controlling one character all the time seems so different than one person switching between the three on the fly to solve things.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
TheLastBaron replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
That's a really good description of The Hunter. It feels really mashed together, which is most likely because the first 4 albums were concept albums (The were trying to explore the four elements so Remission is Fire, Leviathan is Water, Blood Mountain is Earth, and Crack the Skye is Air) and this was their first album to just sort of do whatever they wanted. I like a lot of the songs on it a lot, but as an actual album it's not nearly as strong as their others. They have a new album coming out this year and I'm curious to see where they go with it. Also yeah, Brann is a beast, imo one of the best drummers in the world not that making it a contest means anything. -
I queued solo a month or so back and randomly ended up in a game with Vanaman, Breckon and Finol. Someone didn't load so we ended up just partying up, but it was really unexpected.

For the record, Roll never invaded and took my stars, I gave him my stars. That's what the first message in http://i.imgur.com/nFDQ6YC.png was about. -

I like MtG and I like tactical combat games like Heroes or King's Bounty, but I don't really like card games that are like hex based combat games. Every time I've tried one it's been basically nothing of what I like about CCG's and kind of mediocre as just a strategy game. I haven't tried Scrolls so there's still a chance I'll dig it, but seeing the tactical hex board aspect is kind of a turn off for me.

Did you go to the Academy of Sciences? If so how is the white crocodile doing? Every time I see it it looks like it wants to die.

Idle Thumbs 109: Prepare for the Jelly
TheLastBaron replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I just quickly scrolled through my Steam library and of the games in there I think my favorite title is Portal. I like short titles that are actually relevant to the game, so Stacking I also like as a title (and as a game), but something like Proteus doesn't really do much for me.
