Well I don't think they'll go away after the sale so you could stock up and in a year make some money.

If they were just trying to make a fun shooting game that's one thing, but with CS:GO they've definitely taken a strong stance for making it a competitive eSport, just like with Dota. With that in mind they can't really change a lot of stuff that would make the game hard to balance. They also would have a hard time making big maps as it would be really hard to make them balanced between sides (already a lot of maps don't get competitive play because they are skewed in favor of one team) and there's also the fact that pro teams have 5 players so a 5v5 game on a huge match wouldn't be very good.

It's a failure in the sense that it was supposed to merge the CS community back together after it became split between 1.6 and Source. I don't think it really achieved that objective and as far as I know the CS community is just more fragmented now. As a game it's fine, but I personally don't like it more than the other games (specifically 1.6) and I'm pretty sure int he time it's been just as many of my friend's have bought 1.6 than have bought GO (not that it's a lot for either though).

Uh, for recommendations I like Shut Up & Sit Down. http://susd.pretend-money.com/ They post reviews and such in the blog as well as having a podcast and previously has a video series (they no longer have time to make big episodes anymore, but the old ones are at http://www.shutupshow.com/episodes)

It's worth pointing out that I just re watched Undeclared a week or so ago so when watching Pacific Rim I was unable to accept that the main guy (I don't even remember what his name was in the movie) wasn't Loyd.

I figured it was something like that, as in a flat drop rate per hour. I'm going to just keep one game open at a time now so I can max out single games faster and become eligible for boosters from them. Also, after getting a bunch more cards I've definitely started to feel what other people were saying about preferring to have all the cards over one badge, though I guess if you can still see the cards used to craft the badge then that point is moot.

Yeah I ran Borderlands 2, Civ 5, Saint's Row 3, CKII, Dungeons of Dredmor because they all only open a launcher, then Binding of Isaac and Alan Wake and got cards for all of them. The only thing I'm not sure about is how cards are spread out, meaning I got a card for each of them, so 7 cards total, and I don't now if that means I would have gotten 7 card drops anyways if I just ran a couple games and gotten more from each game. If that's the case it might be worth just running one at a time and maxing out my drops from each one earlier.

I currently have 7 games running on steam at the same time on my computer while I'm doing stuff in the other room, so that I can get all the cards possible from games I have. I'll probably sell all the ones for games I don't care about, but the main objective is to get to the point where I can be eligible for lots of booster packs and then slowly make tiny amounts of money for doing nothing.

I was expecting Pacific Rim to be a typical mediocre summer blockbuster and it was considerably worse than that. There were just so many problems with it that it became difficult to watch.

BOOM. I'm in. -
Just saw the first episode at a friends house and it didn't do much for me.

Regarding the question of getting all the cards for a badge when you only get a limited number of drops, after you have gotten all the drops for a game you become eligible to randomly get a booster pack of cards. For example on Monday I got a booster pack for Dota that had 3 more cards.

The Summer Sale with the tickets was the best.

Super Smash Bros. (Spoiler: Snake Kills Ganondorf)

I have definitely watched LPs of games and not bought the game after, but it's more often because I see that the game doesn't look like something I'd want to play. Sometimes I'll watch games instead of playing them, but it's because it's for a console I have no intention of purchasing (like the Vita). -

Super weird, I have friends that are really hyped about smash at EVO. Also it's weird that when the game came out 12 years ago the people playing it now were probably little kids. -
I got Lead and Gold in the Paradox pack a year or two back and it was really fun, I think at that point there was still a decent amount of people playing as well as Paradox employees fairly often.

I just watched 13 Assassins and liked everything about it except the really obvious bald caps on everyone.

http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=3733 That post is form a while ago (2011) so I don't know if that's how it still works, ut I believe that as someone who uses a 1920x1200 monitor I see slightly less that other players as I think everything is set up for people using 16:9 monitors.

Jesus fuck, what a huge fucking loss. Ughhhh I don't really know what to say, this sucks.

I've been playing the 1v1 mid tutorial and the bots are pretty bad, so UI agree with Badfinger that they will probably teach bad habbits, but from a mechanical perspective of just learning things like last hitting and denying against another player, checking runes every 2 minutes, using the courier, ect. it seems like it'd be really good for new players.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2013/07/03/198129617/teen-jailed-for-facebook-comment-reportedly-beat-up-behind-bars I think I still prefer Valve's method of just muting people, but this works too. -
I hate Isabella in Civ games though she's always so mean to me
