  1. Dreams!

I just took a nap after getting home and ended up sleeping for 2-3 hours. I had a really weird but pleasant dream, only I don't know what it was about. What I do know is that I have Separate Ways by Journey stuck in my head. I always wake up with songs stuck in my head, a lot of times songs I haven't heard in 10 years.
  2. Help me pick out a new mouse

I use a G9 and love it (which is unfortunate as it and the G9x are discontinued with no similar replacement in the new Logitech line). Before that I used a G5. It eventually died and I got the G9 as a replacement. I later found out that the G5 was still under warranty and Logitech would replace it for free, only the G5 was discontinued and replaced with the G 500 so I got that instead. I really don't like it, mine has a weird smooth metallic finish on it and I don't like the buttons so I've never used it.
  3. Replayable Narratives: Does Anyone Even Play a Game Once?

I've been thinking about it and a game with the narrative generating elements of CK2 would be really cool. Basically CK2 is already a great replayable narrative in a game, but the strategy aspect turns a lot of people off so something with similar systems and random events (I.e. The AAR discussed on the Sons of Abraham episode of 3MA where a Jean d'Arc was born and then the spawn of Satan became Queen and so on). This would be cool.
  4. Replayable Narratives: Does Anyone Even Play a Game Once?

What are you guys' thoughts on something like Opposing Force and Blue Shift where you are replaying the same story, but from a different perspective?
  5. I Can't Go For That (Game Series)

Re: DK, Donkey Kong 64 is probably a top 10 N64 game for me. I don't like any of the old platform ones though.
  6. Movie/TV recommendations

I'm finishing up Jackie Chan Adventures and it seems like the only logical show to move on to is Colombo. Plus, unlike a lot of old shows it's still good.
  7. I Can't Go For That (Game Series)

Funny, I actually am the opposite in that I have almost no interest in a stealth game that isn't first person. I didn't add myself to the MGS list because I might get around to playing them at some point, but I probably won't like them if I do.Edit: jk, I would play another Mark of the Ninja.
  8. Nintendo 3DS

^this basically. I beat the game but have some chapters that aren't complete. I tried for a while, but I couldn't do anything more so I called it a day. I wish there were other Millennium Kitchen games localized.
  9. Counter-Strike Idle Terrorism.

Wow this game is so much different than it was a launch. The main menu got a TF2 pass and all my rl friends are getting into it and always getting excited about drops. I'm playing this again for the first time in over a year and I'm digging it a lot. It's still no 1.5, but it'll do. Btw, is there a normal CS:GO thread outside of multiplayer networking?
  10. Titanfall

Does it have one of those fancy laser doohickeys? If so you're good to go.
  11. Titanfall

I just realized when I said I stopped watching the trailer the logical assumption is that I wasn't interested in playing it. I'm actually pretty excited to play it. I don't think it will be a day 1 perch, but I imagine I'll spend a lot of time playing it between semesters this summer.
  12. Games giveaway

I do as well, we could try getting a Thumbs game to happen if people are interested.
  13. Titanfall

I have no idea what this game is, I've just been hearing about it and I've seen that it's a shooter some of my friends are playing it. I watched a trailer from 8 months ago and it started by a guy in a big mech suit opening up the front of the suit to yell orders at the people on the ground who already had some sort of radio communication going on. I stopped watching there. Has the game been patched since then, or are people still stupid?
  14. I Can't Go For That (Game Series)

Any Football (American) game. I played Madden once in like 2001 and hated it, and I don't like football at all (I like other sports and sports games).
  15. The Wolf Among Us

So in any game where I have to make decisions I pretty much always make the decision that I personally would make, but in this game I think I've been making some sort of effort to chose things based on what I think Bigby would do, having read a lot of the book. A lot of times there's are really do different from what I would choose so I might start a parallel play through playing as myself and seeing if anything changes (not that I really care, I'm enjoying the story and if everything ended up being exactly the same I won't care if the episodes keep being good).
  16. Other podcasts

It's not an actual podcast, but there's a series of videos on YouTube called the Game Audio Hour where every Monday a group of people who do various audio work in the games industry record an hour long or so Google Hangout and upload it. I think there's around 4 so far so it's pretty new still, but it's great and Vincent Diamante from ThatGameCompany has been on it a lot and I think he might be my favorite person in the field.
  17. The Wolf Among Us

I finally got around to playing this episode. I liked it a lot and it seemed to me that it was around the same length as episode 1, but I didn't think episode 1 was super long. At the very least I thought it ended at a really good point. Regarding Bluebeard and the question asked earlier (this isn't a spoiler) : He's really rich, as in super really rich.
  18. Bioshock Finite: Irrational Games shuts down

Yeah I feel really weird about this, though a large part of me doesn't really have any reaction to this that's any different than any other time there are massive layoffs at other studios. I don't really have any sort of opinion about Ken Levine specifically because all I can tell is that something is going on/happened that I don't know about, and all I have to judge him off of is hearing him on podcasts like 3MA and Gamers with Jobs (where he's always seems like a nice guy) along with the posts here that he sucks to work with and might be a terrible project lead, as well his games which I all think are very good (System Shock 2 is one of my all time favorite games). So basically I agree completely about feeling shitty about a shitty situation.
  19. Every time I can't remember the name of a game it's Buck Bumble
  20. DOTA 2

I was actually wondering the same thing, I feel stupid for not getting it now because it makes sense.
  21. General Video Game Deals Thread

The Humble Weekly Sale has a bunch of adventure games. Are any of them good? I haven't heard of most of them.
  22. DOTA 2

I didn't mean to start a debate, I think everything else he said was fair enough, but I just didn't understand what swapping out abilities was referring to (I haven't played since I think before Season 1 so there could be new stuff I don't know about).
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

I honestly don't think it would be a good idea to have a solo movie. He's a good side character, but in the comics whenever he gets a solo book he just ends up becoming annoying. He's a character that is best in small doses. At least imo
  24. DOTA 2

I don't understand this statement, Dota added a whole game mode that's this, and League doesn't have it at all. Unless you mean the summoner abilities in which case I don't know what to say, when I played League I thought they didn't add anything since you basically had one skill and flash. That was a while ago, maybe they've changed stuff.
  25. Harmonix's Chroma - The Rhythm Multiplayer FPS

I feel like I want to find this game interesting, but I actually have no interest in it at all until I can actually play it because a game like this is going to rely so heavily on execution that even if there are tons of great and interesting ideas it's going to have to be super tight to work at all.
