  1. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

And then someone said "TIE Fighter was awesome, let me animate some of that."
  2. Cities: Skylines

Is there any detailed info about what it means to have specialized industries?
  3. I'd totally pool money to get tegan a proper bed.
  4. Cities: Skylines

I dunno if I have a problem with the tools to manage the traffic. Again, my beef is with that initial entrypoint. The entrance and exit to the highway are SO CLOSE together. If you link them together right there, sure it technically functions, BUT the traffic will build up because you run into that frequent / short intersection problem that causes traffic buildup. So I guess it's a matter of how far apart to split the initial highway entrance / exit before giving them some sort of linkup.
  5. Cities: Skylines

My biggest problem with the game at the moment is the way the initial highway entrypoint into your city works. It becomes a traffic clusterfuck and I can't think of a way to reconcile it. One of the routes is your input and the other is output. I actually started a city once not realizing the game was that smart, so I didn't have the input section linked up to my city. Population didn't grow and it took me a bit to figure out why.
  6. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Also there's a guy, Peter Coffin, who has been speaking out against Richard Dawkins, and I guess GamerGate is attacking Mr. Coffin via harassing his hospitalized wife. Edit - Look up the death of Jacintha Saldanha. The short of it is a radio station pranked her and she committed suicide. That is what GamerGate is trying to accomplish.
  7. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Richard Dawkins is asking Twitter what GamerGate is. GG is flocking to get him on their side. Frankly they can have him. Because the guy is a hate-monger in his own ironic right, and has kinda been falling off the deep end over the last couple years as far as sanity goes.
  8. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Is it weird that this is more or less how I've been deciding who to follow on Twitter lately?
  9. Kojima to leave Konami after MGS V

Via Twitter: "P.T. was a metaphor for Kojima being forced to make the same thing forever and the gradual decline of his sanity as a result."
  10. Cities: Skylines

So, music that fits playing this game. Block Rockin' Beats by the Chemical Brothers (shit from my youth) came on the radio while I was playing. It somehow fit.
  11. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

I can't wait to find out what digital Rwanda is. Or digital-Contra.
  12. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

GamerGate is starting to use the term "digital Apartheid" in reference to the GG Autoblocker. I think they should pack it in, as far as bastardizing language.
  13. Cities: Skylines

I just realized the road drawing tool has a grid line that will show up when the draw function is active, which can help plan out plots of land so you can maximize grid space for zoning, etc. Also running into that thing Sean did where roads are like a couple degrees off and I feel like my city is RUINED. Also learned the maximum capacity of coal power plants, finally. Not enough power for the drain system = Poopwater. Edit - Hashtag poopwater.
  14. Kojima to leave Konami after MGS V

Excuse me for not believing any rumors related to Kojima. Because over the last twenty years there's been rumors surrounding that guy all the time, and/or the work he does. Practically none of them have come true.
  15. Cities: Skylines

I just want to say, the "districts" tool is freaking amazing. That you can setup policies specific to each district is just... Gah. It's too good. It helps make each city feel alive.
  16. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

You ban them and encourage positivity and positive people to show up. This isn't rocket science.
  17. Cities: Skylines

I'm just dinking around to get used to the game and its mechanics for now but that entry point into your city can be a mess to work with. I think when I start over I'll be taking that traffic thing more seriously.
  18. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Please refrain from Googling anything Gamergate related. All questions should be fielded to communities you know and trust.
  19. Cities: Skylines

I wonder how ethical this is. I mean, I don't have a strong opinion of it either way.
  20. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Oh man so somebody wants to sue... I dunno, someone else, because they've been blocked on Twitter. How is that even a case? "As you can see your honor, they blocked me on Twitter, preventing me from mouthing off my tired bullshit. Please award me millions of dollars." Edit - OH MAN there's more. So it's some dude named Grimachu. The following link details why he's a detestable person. Remember folks, ethics in games journalism. http://ettinjiggywithit.tumblr.com/post/100143582073/the-deal-with-desborough I imagine his next case will be to sue anyone who doesn't follow him on Twitter.
  21. Cities: Skylines

Anyone got a source for a good tutorial? Also is there a way to turn on a sort of grid view? I realized the road tool can easily make a messy grid pattern (if it's what's desired). Like lines not being parallel.
  22. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

Is Nintendo actually taking charge of some of the game development? I guess I was getting a mixed signal from somewhere. If anything this is a pilot test to see if Nintendo can deal with their games being in demand on other platforms. I mean, the IPs at least.
  23. Nintendo, I suspect, will have enough pull to demand mobile app makers to not do extremely abusive things of that nature.
  24. From what I see they're having other companies license Nintendo IPs to make mobile apps. So Nintendo is getting a slice of the pie that people want to pay for, but still gets to retain their cred if games go wrong, via "But WE didn't MAKE that one."
