  1. DuckTales Remastered?! WOOHOO!

The 2D sprites on drab 3D backgrounds looks terrible.
  2. PL4YST4TION 4

You're barking up the wrong tree. Best D-pad: Shape isn't the real issue with d-pads. Which was why it was so stupid when Microsoft brought out that idiotic 'improved' 360 d-pad that just changed shape.

  4. Life

I just got my first permanent full-time job and it's significantly better than all the ones I've been turned down for over the last 6 months. Very chuffed!
  5. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

The other night I kept getting summoned by a guy who was co-operating with his invader. First time I was trying to occupy the invader and just block so he could backstab but the host just ran off and I eventually died (not a big deal as a phantom). Then it happened again and I saw them hanging out, the invader was using the dark hand humanity leech thing on the host so not sure what they were up to.

I know right! It's your usual slightly excruciating and bland reference to a video game concept (preferably NES or SMB-related)... but with a pun!
  7. New website!

Can't seem to find any cheat codes or tips.
  8. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Just killed two of the new bosses and found the needlessly, brilliantly elaborate PvP arena. So good!
  9. Polygon (internet website)

I enjoy MBMBAM. Brian Crecente's credentials seem limited to having written embarrassing pageview bait for a gutter blog. Never heard of the others. Those trailers are hilarious.
  10. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

It was definitely far more reliable for me on PS3 at least. And yeah, the world is called Lordran... enough said. I'm at Anor Londo with the character I've settled on (strength/intel), hoping to get to the new content today.
  11. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I've done the early areas so many times now that I quite enjoy just cruising through them very selectively. Those bastard archers in Anor Londo never get any easier though, I usually just sit back and let suicidal phantoms tackle them. The PC version and the resolution hack seem to be going much smoother than expected. the only problem I have now is the number of failed summons. I suspect that an awful lot of people have badly configured NAT, since you hardly ever see this kind of P2P connectivity on PC and so it doesn't often come up. Very annoying.
  12. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Yeah I'm not convinced the res fix will be plain sailing throughout and it does look fine without. Unfortunately I'm not getting great performance with my 3ghz C2D and Nvidia 560Ti, all the badly optimised bits from the PS3 version are a little choppier and parry timing feels way off. That might just be the different controller.
  13. Tribes: Ascend

Yea the free to play aspect is putting me off as well as time goes on. I saved up for ages to buy doombringer mines with 75000xp, the whole time fighting the temptation to buy gold. It's not a feeling I want while playing games.
  14. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Preloading now! I'm looking forward to everyone starting from scratch, the undead berg should be a lot of fun tonight. Will be great seeing new secrets being discovered in the new parts as well. By the way for those unaware, the main point of controversey with this version is that the PC port is limited to running at the same sub-HD resolution of the console versions, stretched no matter what. They must have hard coded some postprocessing or UI or something that made it too difficult to uncouple the resolution. Pretty piss poor. It irritates me as somebody who works in publishing, an industry constantly struggling to justify its existence, that a lot of people are so quick to blame From Software for the quality of the port, when they are buying it from Namco. In my eyes, Namco holds complete responsibility for any known technical/quality issues in what they choose to publish. That's their job.
  15. Tribes: Ascend

I'm playing quite a lot but I'm getting a bit bored of never being killed in public games. There's usually about 4 half capable people in a match and everybody else is utterly hopeless. Needs real matchmaking badly. I'm not good at video games.
