Manresa Posted April 15, 2012 This is my favorite Three Moves Ahead episode. What (if any) are the moral ramifications of wargaming? Bruce runs over Michael Abbott (of the Brainy Gamer) a little bit, but on re-listening it's not so bad. There's some great discussion on the original Flash of Steel thread, and I started a thread on Quarter to Three. A lot of the responses boil down to "it's just a game" or "an intellectual exercise"--and I think that in itself is a problem with wargaming. Let me make it clear that I while I don't think wargaming is bad, or wargamers are warmongers (I've played my fair share), wargames may make it too easy for people to ignore the reality of war. Troy Goodfellow Posted April 16, 2012 If I had it to do over again, I would have structured that show better - had a better organizing idea and given Michael and Bruce more common language to talk about.
