Cigol Posted July 20, 2010 Apparently you can play PSP games on a TV with a PS3 controller if you have a PSP Go. Can any owners verify whether that's the case? Apparently there's a video out, and the Go is the only model that allows Bluetooth connectivity of a DeulShock 3 controller. If this is the case, I might actually considering getting a Go. I don't care about playing PSP games when I'm out, but there's some stuff, like Peace Walker, that I'd like to play normally. You can use a DS3 with the PSPgo, but I've also read that you can use a DS3 with normal PSP's provided you have custom firmware (?). As far as Peace Walker is concerned, the controls aren't ideal but when the game is this good it's easy to ignore. It really doesn't sound like having anything to do with Sony's handheld platform is easy... I don't see anything particularly difficult. The PSP and the PSPgo are two separate machines. That they use different peripherals or in the case of the GO are digital only is pretty straightforward. The only thing 'difficult' about the PSP is trying to understand all the jargon in relation to custom firmware. The rest is easy.
Tanukitsune Posted July 26, 2010 Things could get "interesting" if you're a European Playstation Plus user... Europe has almost nothing in the PSOne classics store, each month we get a new free PSOne game, so eventually we'll either run out of PSOne games or they'll give out a game that's only in the US PSN store and.... ??? Before I said I might get a JP PSN account for JP games, but now it seems I'll need a US PSN account too?!
Randall Theil Posted July 26, 2010 I've been using my PSP 3000 as a digital only machine and I've been pretty happy with it. Some no-brainer PSP catalogue titles are still UMD only though (Final Fantasy Tactics, Lumines, Pirates!) The release of backcatalogue titles has been glacial lately, but at least they've broken some of the popular older games down into the $10-$20 range, which is about what I'd expect to pay for a full PSP game (although I did just pass a personal milestone and fork over $40 for the PSN version of Persona 3 Portable...)
