  1. Not so much under the radar as "looks a bit shit, might get it when it's cheap". Gameplay videos like the Giant Bomb QL were uninspiring to say the least. After seeing the concept art I'm not sure I could ever properly enjoy it.
  2. Bill Gates in Doom

This is way old, sorry, but I came accross it today and was amazed that I'd never seen it before. KN0K58EfJSg "Microsoft: Who do you want to execute today? *gunshot*"
  3. Wizaaaaaards!!

  4. I almost bought a PSP recently but my research concluded that it wasn't worth the hassle and doubt involved in getting games for it. Masses of popular games don't seem to be released in Europe at all (like it's 1997 or something), and the PSN store seems to offer an absolutely paltry subset of what's available on UMD.

  6. Sure, but this is hardly Portal. Obviously when I say it's too short I don't just mean it should be stretched out, but it definitely felt like a piece of a game that deserved to be more ambitious. It introduces little more than a handfull of new enemies in its entirety let alone any new mechanics, they could have done a lot more with it.
  7. I quite liked it too. It is a bit short for full price though, I've not felt compelled to replay it and the challenges are way too hard for me.
  8. Stacking

Looks great! Costume Quest was a bit too long for its lack of depth, but enjoyable for the most part.
  9. Child of Eden

If a publisher wants it, Edge will do anything.
  10. It'll be free to download so don't worry about a demo. The box is just for collector types.
  11. You may next enjoy yourself in 8 hours.

Social games... When I played the original Harvest Moon and a few of its sequels years ago I found parts of it so undeveloped and full of potential, I wanted to run my farm as efficiently as possible, build it up and hire people to collect the eggs every day, buy bigger machines to cover bigger areas. I remember being so surprised and disappointed that I couldn't make my children do tasks for me, the child just stays as a baby until the game unavoidably ends. It didn't make any sense to me. Also, in this day and age, wouldn't a HM game with an online economy and co-op be the obvious next step? Instead they just kept rereleasing the same game with budget game production values. (and now they do those RPG spinoffs which are the total opposite direction) Then Farmville (or whatever game Zynga cloned) came along. It has a sort of co-op and is much more about maximising your efficiency and making money. Problem is that it's exploitative shit for idiots and utterly reprehensible in every way. If somebody ever makes my proper farm game now (which they won't) it'll be called a Farmville ripoff. Are there actually any 'social games' that aren't utterly reprehensible exploitative shit for idiots that don't feel as if they're built around a business model? Because I'm not hearing about them and I've not seen application spam on my facebook feed for years.

  13. L.A. Noire

It's a film trailer advertising a video game that shows only cinematics, which suggests a video game heavily dependent on impressive cinematics, which is lame in my opinion, because video games are about interactivity.
  14. Earth Defence Force sequel

Good news, but yeah still too little going on there. I find it funny how journalists go on and on about how simple and dumb EDF is, which it is, but so are dozens of other games which they treat much more seriously.
  15. Super Meat Boy! Boy is it hard!

This is the kind of game that I get worse at the more I try to finish a sticking point, so I have to do something else and come back. I've always been terrible at 2D games, expecially platformers (and didn't have console games while that stuff was big), but this is one I can get a lot out of, unlike Sonic 4....
  16. Fallout: New Vegas

Sounds like an open world RPG alright. Luckily I've got Borderlands GOTYE to play while they fix it.
  17. Hot scoops from inside EA - honest....!

I don't have a big problem with him overall but Warhammer was an incredibly unremarkable, conservative MMO which makes his PR bullshit somewhat amusing. 'The Led Zepelin of MMOs'

You need to have played Warhammer I suppose.

  20. Tolkien wants you to collect 12 Orc livers.

lotro is rammed full of quota quests and achievements, the 'narrative content' is worse though. Following a slow walking frodo npc around an instanced rivendell, clicking him for a dry monologue text box at each point, triggering him to move to the next point, repeat for far far too long... 9/10 - Eurogamer
  21. Tolkien wants you to collect 12 Orc livers.

I never understood the acclaim this game gets, it's the most cynical of all the EQ/WOW clones (the big sub-based ones anyway) . I played a character to level 40 and it has some offensively bad content, to a level that I've not seen many MMOs.
  22. Hot scoops from inside EA - honest....!

TOR is an abomination in my eyes. MMOs reliant on scripted single-player content just don't make any sense to me.
  23. Project Dark(Demon's Souls successor)

That's the original trailer. I'm baffled why several TGS trailers are still only available as camera grabs.
