  1. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

If you enjoyed Watchmen, I'd recommend picking up Halcyon.
  2. RockStar Social Club - Idle Thumbs

My Xbox is broken but I'd got an invite so I joined anyway.
  3. Pick my Path

Just to add another suggestion - Read Halcyon instead...
  4. Books, books, books...

I found out last week that one of my favourite reads from the last few years (Bitter Seeds) is actually the first part of a trilogy (The Milkweed Triptych) and the second part (The Coldest War) is due out in about 2 weeks. Despite the silly sounding plot (alternate WW2 era where German scientists have produced superhumans and the British attempt to counteract it with warlocks & magic), Bitter Seeds was a really solid debut from Ian Tregillis and well worth a read.
  5. 2001 a space odyssey....

If we're derailing this thread to talk about Christopher Priest, I'd definitely recommend The Affirmation and The Extremes as well. Regarding The Prestige, I read the novel a few years before the film came out, and it still makes me a bit sad that they dropped the modern-day elements and some of the later sections from the book as those really made the story for me. I guess that's just the way it goes with film adaptations though. The film is still really enjoyable and succeeds in what the Nolans wanted to achieve, but it doesn't quite satisfy like that book does.
  6. Zombies...

You could try The Rising by Brian Keene, and it's follow-up City of the Dead. They're both regarded favourably as far as I'm aware.
  7. Idle Thumbs pre-recorded live stream thing

http://pastebin.com/VsZPEp7Y - Thanks to Twitch letting you use IRC to access chat, a friend made a log of it during the stream. Like Jake said, it's the kind of chat you'd expect from something like this, but it was still pretty fun.
  8. What's the best way to follow Twitter

The Echofon Firefox add-on works quite nicely. You can set the twitter feed to Windowed, Sidebar or Panel mode, and get pop-up alerts of new tweets. Makes it easier to track things with multiple tabs open.

  10. Torchlight II

Same here, I'm installing it as I type.
  11. Idle Thumbs Motorcycle Club

You appear to have run over a poor, defenseless soft toy.
  12. Stacking

Double Fine's next game has been announced: Stacking , a third-person adventure puzzle game. It looks and sounds pretty fun. I wasn't sure about Costume Quest but I'll definitely be getting this one. EDIT: There's an official new item for it on the Double Fine site now.
  13. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Mr. Oizo released a new free EP today: d4qHuR4K-dU
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

WCNKahG1ksg I'm looking forward to this. I really enjoyed Rian Johnson's first film, Brick, and am hopefully for good things with this.

  16. Movie/TV recommendations

Nah, Cumberbatch is the voice of Smaug in the film. More amusing though, Barry Humphries is the Great Goblin.
  17. Poster and cover art

Ok, I got confused. It wasn't the same guy that did the Ghostbusters posters. It was Brandon Schaefer.
  18. Poster and cover art

I love his series of Star Wars posters. I got some prints made of them a while back. He also did a really nice series of Ghostbuster posters but I can't seem to see those of the flickr account. http://www.behance.net/leon http://fringefocus.com/portfolio - The Lord of the Rings poster are really nice.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

I think Donald Duck and Goofy were original but don't forget that Mickey Mouse was a slightly altered Oswald the Rabbit after Disney lost the rights to Universal.
  20. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

I'd agree that starting position seems to make a different in how well you personally do in the game. After taking out the hordes near me, I've not really stood much chance to get to the core areas. I didn't think I'd say this, but I think I prefered it when you could buy up armies anywhere on the map rather than just those within 24hrs march. At least that way, you had a chance of getting to all the different blight areas.
  21. Dawn of War 2

I'd be up for a few games of Last Stand and possibly some multiplayer as well.
  22. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

The Zombie hordes love your market town! There's an army of 117 Zombie men heading there now. 21hrs til they arrive.
  23. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

Grr! I didn't have a chance to check the game since yesterday afternoon and have now lost one of my main armies. Not only did I lose it but some of the casualties are now part of the zombie horde Oh well.
  24. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

I wouldn't worry. You're Treemen will destroy the incoming Zombie horde. What Treemen lack in speed, they more than make up for in strength. If you're confused about anything in-game, just ask and I'm sure any of us that have played before can help out.
