  1. Idle Thumbs panel at PAX Prime

Speaking of tough to learn, just how hard is it to play A Life Is Beautiful? Also, would you happen to have the ability to write out the tabs for Space Asshole? Tabs make it easier for my simple mind.
  2. Far Cry 2

Yeah, I was looking at my kill and thinking, I feel pretty bad about killing this innocent ani-CAR REV NOISE OH SHI- It's Far Cry 2, it will never die.
  3. Far Cry 2

So i'm going to bring up a really old topic once more. Probably gunna get yelled at. Here is something akin to a story that was once read on the cast about a guy who was hit by his own car when he was showing off FC2 to a friend. I just happened to be recording when this happened: Bambi was avenged. (I know it's not a deer)
  4. Cryostasis

Misunderstanding, I was being deliberately 'hippie' in hopes of getting you to do exactly what you do. Clearly, it went downhill from there.
  5. Idle Thumbs panel at PAX Prime

For those of us who live on the other side of the damn world please record it.

Holy crap, that was actually a pretty cool song. Here's one more, I think we should bring this Julian Smith torrent to an end. NwTsZHGQ6FE
  7. The threat of Big Dog

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!, now stop making me posting in this forum, I already feel like a douche for posting like 5 times in 7 posts.

Drop your preconceptions, open your mind man...
  13. Recently completed video games

Cryostasis, go here for a ridiculous topic on the matter.
  14. Cryostasis

Just finished the game in roughly 5 hours, that game was incredible, there are so many things I want to say so i'll just put them all out there with no greater structure or thought. The running story throughout the game from both the and that was amazing, I loved it so much. The flashbacks and mental echos were some of the most intriguing moments of all my gaming. The section in which was awesome and scary. The bit where you go into a blew my mind completely. The heat/cold health mechanic was so cleverly implemented and toyed with throughout the game. The at the end of the game was really beautiful as were all the effects that were used in the final 2 chapters. I could on for a very long time here but overall Cryostasis is one of the best games i've ever played, despite the pure terror I experienced a few times I enjoyed the crap out of it. Buy it now, buy it, buy it!
  15. Cryostasis

Just completed Chapter 12: Escape ( ) and i'm unsure about this thing. One one hand I am thoroughly terrified and will be glad when it's all over and I can go back to my baby games, but on the other hand i'm really enjoying the innovative storytelling and gameplay features like the mental echos or . So yeah, i'll probably finish this game in under 10 hours (Steam has the time wrong because I left it idling for 5 and a half hours) but it'll certainly feel more like 10 years. While it feels like a real slog to get to the finishing line at this point I want to do so to see what other gameplay elements they can bring in, for instance that mental echo in which you was mindwarpingly awesome. *Sigh* Cryostasis, why must you scare me so?
  16. Post your face!

Totally ruined explosive diarrhea for me.

Guy is awesome, looks like a mad scientist. In case anyone is wondering the song that plays for most of that video is Memories by David Guetta ft. Kid Cudi, it's a pretty good song.
  18. Anyone Remember?

Was it Idle Thumbs Standalone Expansion PAX 1: Ron Gilbert when he was talking about Animal Crossing?
  19. Anyone Remember?

Yeah, but then they started making The Idle Thumbs Podcast. But then they stopped making that too.
  20. The following is possibly the best thing i've ever heard. Ever. http://www.donkdj.com/remix/90530
  21. Unfortunately all the Thumbs Events are at about 5 or 6AM for me but i'll happily chat to anyone who wants to hit me up on Steam.
  22. Cryostasis

Heartbeat must be 160. Just played 48 minutes (Long enough to ) and holy mother of god, that is one terrifying game. Cryostasis may be the first game that ever actively tries to make you take breaks every hour because I couldn't bring myself to play more than 48 minutes in one sitting. Probably doesn't help that it's 3am and in the middle of a particularly frosty winter...
  23. Burnout: Paradise has a pretty hit and miss soundtrack but there are some stand out tracks. As Chris has previously mentioned it is pretty fantastic to wreck a billion cars while listening to Vivaldi.
  24. (IGN.com)

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... Goodbye old friend. A single tear rolls slowly down my cheek reflecting the sharp, harsh light of a sole monitor in a darkened room. Roll credits. End of credits easter egg: "This forum has raped my face!" -IGN.com
  25. A Life Well Wasted: Big Ideas

So i've listened to every ALWW now and i'm incredibly impressed. The honesty and frankness of the interviews and even just the way the host conducts the interviews is refreshingly different. It has made me think a lot more about games as a medium and why I play games, I could go into a long self-absorbed ramble but i'll restrain myself. In short, this podcast has made me question gaming in general, my own motivations and goals for life and how/why games play a part in said life.
