  1. Goty.cx 2011

When thinking about Dark Souls and Skyrim, I think how much fun it is to explore both of their worlds. In Skyrim, you could to talk and interact with the different characters, absorb as much of the story as you want, and have a lot of flexibility building a cool character for combat. In Dark souls, the story isn't so front and center, but the combat is the best of any RPG I've ever played. They are both great games but I think I have to give the tiebreaker to Dark Souls just because it's a more polished experience. I can't tell you how many times skyrim froze up on me, or took 45 seconds to load just going through a door.
  2. The Last of Us

Gotta love hipster gamers that say they are sick of zombies like there is only one type of zombie and one type of game to have a zombie like enemies in. I'm not sick of them by a long shot. Left 4 dead is great, RE4 and 5 were great, lots of people loved killing floor and dead island as well. I have full faith in naughty dawg to make a great game.
  3. V The Elder Scrolls

Is the only way to get that legendary stuff spending time buffing up enchanting and smithnig? Because I really don't feel like doing that at all.
  4. Uncharted 3: the Uncharteningest

Aiming on a gamepad has been fine in good games for years now. No need to go all PC elitist on us.

The only thing that would make the jurassic park thing better if it was viral marketing for the tell tale game haha
  6. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

I've been playing this game again in anticipation for the sequel, it really still is great. The shooting feels as fun as a dedicated shooter like gears, it has platforming that's intense, even if it is simplistic, and the presentation and graphics are the best on consoles.
  7. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I'm definitely regretting not picking the master key initially, now that I finally beat the game and took my character into NG+, I know exactly where and how I need to go, but I have to take the long way around still heh
  8. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Ugh, I finished the game, and started NG+, and I'm really wishing I would have gotten the masterkey. Since I know where and what I'm doing now, not being having to go through every motion would save a lot of time.
  9. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Yea I did some of the optional dungeons, including the return to the asylum, really fun and tough boss fight that actually prepared me for two later fights on the main path.
  10. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

I'm 2 or 3 bosses from the end of the game, getting pretty excited, although I did something very stupid in a play session earlier today. Set up outside a tough boss, waited about 20 minutes to finally get two human phantoms I needed to take it down, and what do I do? fall off a cliff 5 feet from the boss, and waste mine, and their time spent getting to that point. Man did I feel dumb.
  11. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Yea I also read about that thing you mentioned after the fact. I killed him for obvious reasons, and I only just found out he's actually an NPC last night. So I'm pretty much boned now. I hear the pyromancer teacher actually goes to another level, but becomes inaccessible as a merchant
  12. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Well I'm dissapointed now. Because of some decisions I made, I essentially am going to miss out on 3 fire spells and the ability to upgrade my spell damage for the rest of the game as far as I know
  13. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

As for the type of character I'm creating. I'm going for a pyromancer battlemage type character, so I can experience a lot of spells, and a lot of weapons on my first play, even though I won't be particularly adept at either come endgame. Sno, did you allow that golden knight laurtec out of prison and have him kill the firelink firekeeper? I did, and I know I can get her soul back eventually, but it looks like my pyro teacher dissapeared as well. Do you know if he goes anywhere else?
  14. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Really nice set of posts there Sno, you're doing a good job of articulating what makes this such a unique gaming experience. I'm not quite as far in as you, but I'm loving it just as much. First I'll get the 1 or 2 bad things out of the way, so I can get to the raving. I don't like the small changes they did to the reccomendation system. Since you have to use an item to reccomend or leave messages now, it makes it slightly more cumbersome, and I think it results in fewer people reccomending messages(which gives a instant health boost to the player that left it) second, the framerate can be downright terrible at times, even worse then demon's souls. I'm not normally a stickler for things like this, but in an exacting, demanding game like Dark Souls, it can lead to deaths, which isn't fair, but, it's understanable, becasuse this game is freaking GORGEOUS. The enemy designs, seamless level transitions, animations are all superb. You mentioned something about dropping weapons coming to life? Do you know the specifics of that mechanic sno? And how can you tell if you are fighting one?
  15. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

It's a hell of a lot more then just a modern diablo. Diablo is fun because of the easy satisfaction you get from mowing down hordes of enemies and leveling up and collecting loot. Demon's Souls is fun because every encounter matters, the basic baddies can destroy you, the environment you're fighting in matters, and the exploration is magical
  16. Thanks for telling me where to find the SC2 stuff fellas. Watching now. Back on the Jake appearance, I thought it was funny how uncomfortable they were getting when brad tried to get him to say wizard haha
  17. Does anyone who watched the whole thing know if they did a starcraft 2 match at any point? I thought I heard them mention that at some point on the bombcast, but I didn't get a chance to watch the whole show, but I'd like to rewatch that bit

Looks more to me like your own ideas and perceptions about what a successful economic system should be is clouding your judgement. You're not used to seeing a conservative viewpoint that is well reasoned and logical, and that confuses you. You're used to the Fox news, Rush Limbaugh style of conservative argument that's nothing but hot air.

http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2011/08/31/don-cheadle-is-captain-planet-the-power-is-mine-bitches/ Don cheadle is captain planet. It's pretty much the best thing ever.

Why is Hayak getting the last word, in a video where Keynes got way more airtime, biased?
  21. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Those videos aren't biased towards de regulation at all, if anything they show both viewpoints and actually make keynes seem like the big hero.
  22. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Yea I love those boom and bust videos. Really entertaining, as well as informative. I stumbled across this classic gem today while reading news about the mortal kombat klassic kollection. An old collegehumor video exposing some of the absurdities of the way the mortal kombat tournament is organized
  23. Life

I know you guys can't really help with this one, but I just wanted to vent it, since it's not something I'm going to share with friends and family. To sum it up, within the last week, my girlfriend has lost her job, and just last night, was pulled over and charged with a DWI. So she won't have her liscence for a long time now, there's going to be extra financial stress on the two of us(we live together) and it's going to be harder for her to get a new job without a car. This is something I never thought I'd have to deal with it in my life, and just a huge bummer. I make enough money to cover our bills month to month, but the additional legal fees are going to be a huge extra stress I think.
  24. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

I love any and all giant bomb clips, always hilarious
  25. inFamous

The traversal in the second game is vastly improved. It feels a lot easier to move around the city, and the combat is still way better then prototype ever was.
