I think the robots are just luring us into a false sense of security with this one. They make us laugh at them while they pretend to be helpess. Only to strike when we are at out weakest.

I wanna know what you guys think of my goddamn DLC
Sully907 replied to Steve's topic in Video Gaming
Bioshock 2 is a good game guys. The novelty of rapture may have worn of a little, but the world still has merit, and it's still enjoyable to explore. On top of that, bioshock 2 is superior as a shooter in every way. Play it and Minerva's Den. -
I'd say they give Hayek his fair props. He gets just as much rap time as Keynes does and gets to do it while Keynes is hungover, maybe a metaphor even for keynes' economic theories?

f_WaxuN4o78 Another really great one. Just a normal dude talking about working at the disney theme parks with an interesting style and funny animations
-
d0nERTFo-Sk For all you arm chair economists out there. Really well done.

You can wait until the dragon passes and time your run to make it to the next safe area on that path. Also, if you're sick of dying there or whatever, you could go to the next archstone and try 2-1 or 3-1 or 4-1

I would just try the next numbered level in each world until you find one you can beat, all the while leveling up. The most important thing to remember is not to consume any of the boss souls. Most of the spells and abilities from those merchants can be earned by trading boss souls. Don't be afraid to use a wiki to help you with the game's more dense mechanics. It's a brilliant, atmospheric masterpiece, but the usability of the in game stats and inventory leaves a lot to be desired.

I plan on playing through with a fourth character before Project Dark Releases.

Irrational Behavior 8 (With Chris Remo, Shawn Elliott, Ken Levine)
Sully907 replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
That's interesting that Irrational now has two community managers? Not that I'm complaining about two of our favorite podcast personalities being gainfully, stably employed, but what kind of day to day duties do Chris and Shawn have that justifies employing them both? I'm aware community managers provide game assets for press stories and things like that, but what else do they do? -
Yea don't bother running to try to grab that loot. There is nothing super rare there, but if there is a black world tendency, the dragons will not be there guarding it I think. Might have to check the wiki on that to makes sure.

Gordon freeman is also not a good character. He's just a proxy, or a cypher, or whatever the right word is.

Ashley definitely drew his inspiration from NPR's This American Life for ALWW, and your criticism about the sound effects definitely has some merit. Hopefully if he continues the show, he finds the right balance like TAL does. It's a known fact that the first five episodes of every podcast suck, so I'm willing to cut him a break on that until he finds the right flow. Sadly, I think he was using the show as a way to get a job with NPR, and I don't think he's committed enough to keeping it going anymore.

Also, for the sake of accuracy, let's also remember that Samus is kind of a blank slate, undeveloped character to begin with. There wasn't much for Ninja theory to destroy.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I love the music I've heard from it. MOre games should use harmonica

Finally borrowed Deadwood on DVD from a friend. I miss out on a lot of great shows and movies because I mostly read and game instead. Man, this show is as great as advertised, I saw Ian McShane on Kings first, but after this, I think I have a mancrush on him or something lol.

Maybe I'll have to give Rebel FM another try on your reccomendation then. When it first started up, I just remember it being nothing but pretentious discussions about games as art, anything being a sequel diminished it's value, and so on.
-
Not only is the armor from the tombs the best, but the platforming puzzles inside the crypts are a really nice change of pace from the normal game mechanics
-
Brotherhood actually holds your hand maybe even a little more then it should even when you get to rome, locking off certain areas of the map until you complete story missions, but I guess your criticism about having to remember the controls maybe justifies that design decisions. They want to ease people into it.

I am This close to buying the little big planet 2 collectors edition on amazon. Not only does the game look increasingly fantastic, but it's an actual collectors edition that's not an overpriced POS. Downloadable costumes, a cool bookend, and a sackboy plushie all for just 20 dollars more then the standard edition? Sign me up.

I almost broke down and bought the stalker bundle and need for speed but I resisted. But I do regret not buying the crysis bundle.

I've read both rise, and rex, that's amazing that Morris wrote ANOTHER book about roosevelt, I assume it covers his life after his presidency? A really great series of books.

I thought you had to link your steam account or console account with Far Cry 2 achievements to even be allowed to register on the forum.

who the hell voted for Rebel FM? That show is lame compared to the brilliance of The Idle Thumbs podblast... ... ... ... (And giant bomb and MBMBaM dont shoot me)
-
Once again the crew over at the bombcast are bringing us the awesome, anyone else love listening to these daily discussions? For those who don't know, they are literally deciding the winners of all their awards, the 3 of them, in one giant 8 hour podcast cut up into chunks and released over several days. You might think it's a recipe for madness, but it actually results in a lot of intelligent discussions into the merits of the different games, and why the individual editors prefer them over another, as they eventually come to a consensus.
