You are in for a treat sir. Dead Space 2 is an exquisite game. It's like they took their core shooting elements that were already fun in the first game, and then learned from everything uncharted 2 did right in cinematic style presentation, and gameplay pacing, and just made one heck of a game.
  2. V The Elder Scrolls

I haven't really played any of the elder scroll's games extensively, mainly because high fantasy isn't really my thing, but visually, that trailer made the game look very appealing, and if it gives the player as much freedom as I noticed oblivion had in the couple hours I played it, I might have to dip back into the franchise.
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

Yes the star trek movie has plotholes, yes it's special effects sometimes overshadow it's general cinemtatography, but god damn if it isn't entertraining because of it's actors and good pacing. Definitely worth watching I agree,
  4. So jake is saying we will be exactly the appropriate amount of whelmed? Not under, or over whelmed? Hooray for met expectations!
  5. Bill Gates in Doom

There's an interesting story behind this whole event in David Kushner's Masters of Doom, from the perspective of Carmack, Romero and Co. and some of the other players in that whole saga.
  6. Life

NEEEEEEERRRRDS?!?! Yea it is really bizarre working that late when you're say used to one kind of shift.
  7. Life

Ok, I'm posting about a less serious problem, but I feel like my inability to handle this is a failure at life lol. Basicly I bought some cheap hubcaps for my car because I didn't want to spend the money on nice rims or anything. I swear I've put the little tension ring on the right way(facing inside) and I've even tried putting it in different position on the wheel covers, but I still can't get the things to fit snugly on the tires, I'm pretty sure I bought the right size covers too, anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong here? Or am I an idiot?
  8. LittleBigPlanet 2

The word "Was" shouldn't be used in association with Little Big PLanet 2. just the dozen or so user levels I've played so far have showed so much creativity. This is a game you can play every day and never run out of great content.
  9. Recently QUITED games

If you like torchlight that much man, spend 5 or 10 bucks and pick up Titan Quest as well. It's a really great overlooked dungeon crawler. Not as interesting aesthetically as Diablo 2 or torchlight, but the mechanics and loot are top notch.
  10. Recently QUITED games

I just recently quit playing marvel vs capcom 3 after a few days. I'm an avid Street fighter player, but this one is just so flashy and fast that I can't seem to get into it. I always feel like I'm being cheated because it's so hard to tell what's going on. The character selection and variety is nice, but that's as much as I can say really, and it's even lacking features SF4 had...
  11. I think everyone says they are "sick" of zombie games just to say it sometimes. I really don't get the problem playing another one, when the ones that are out there play so differently. Zombies are a good enemy type that can be interpreted a number of different ways and I can't get enough of games with zombies personally.
  12. I'm looking forward to this game having an amazing art style, being full of creativity, and being extremely boring after the first hour.
  13. Buying a New PC

I was able to build a pretty beefy PC two years ago by doing two simple things, you don't even need expertise or a lot of money. For about 600 US dollars I bought, -22 LCD Monitor -Dual Core 2-8 gig AMD processor(I know it doesn't sound very fast but this was in 2008. -500 gig HDD -Nvidia GT9800, a 512 mb graphics card -6 gigs of ram The trick is to buy the case with the mobo installed for you, because that's the tricky part, then just buy all the other components seperarately on clearance, save a bunch of money, and they all basicly just click right in, so simple and cheap.
  14. Anyone Remember?

I've been considering going through the archives episode by episode and pulling best of clips for posting on youtube for posterity. Can't decide if I just want to do the funny bits or to include just the great discussions as well.
  15. Anyone Remember?

"If you ever want to see your daughter again you'll take the ransom to the nearest rocket mail station. PHAEDRUS OUT I honestly can't remember if I've ever laughed that hard

I'm loving that Captain America, Fuck yea video. Such a simple and obvious concept but it works well.

Kingz, do you have a source for your assertion that US workers are low productivity? I understand that we have long work weeks, but I'm actually curious to see the statistics on that, not trying to just call you out or anything.
  18. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Ah well I guess those businesses should just take in those unskilled workers out of the goodness of their heart over more qualified candidates just to be nice and help the downtrodden. Not like those business owners have families to worry about or anything.
  19. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

I think it's a little disingenuous to say the US has a dogmatically pro business policy. Our poor people pay little to no income tax, receive massive refunds, there are thousands of social programs in place, job placement, unemployment assistance. These are programs that we wouldn't have if we were evil capitalistic pigs that only wanted to keep the little man down. It's all about having a balance, and by and large, the US has had it, which is why we've been such an economic power for the last 60 years.

I think I'll wait on a nice steam sale and lots of patches sometime this christmas before I bite into New Vegas, despite loving Fallout 3.

The system is not without it's flaws, but capitalism is a large reason for our quality of life being what it is right now in the developed world. The internet, consumer electronics, winter heating and A/C, it isn't all that bad. Kingz does make some very cogent points though. My main issue is that corporations are given the rights of people, but not regulated as such, which contributes a lot to their control over governments with unlimited campaign contributions and lax regulation, but I don't want to go so far in the other direction where everyone has a guaranteed job and I'm paying half my paycheck to keep my house warm because the taxes are so high.
  22. I would pull the pin out of the conf grenade and let it explode all over my face. ... ... What? I'm just talking about a podcast here people.
  23. Are you running some kind of network at home or something? What the heck do you need 50 MB for? Even 20 is super fast for most home use, at least that's my experience.
  24. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

The online adds something to demon's souls, but it's not crucial to it being an enjoyable experience, and they have since guaranteed the servers will be up until at least october of this year.

That duty calls video is brilliant haha. Was that made in garry's mod or something?
