  1. Bioshock ∞ - New trailer 21 Oct

I bought and downloaded Minerva's Den, and then went to my shelf and found that I had traded in Bioshock 2. So that was annoying.

Yea I recently found out that the Smash Bros. thing of having a tonne of seperate characters come together for a goofy fighting game is actually a full genre in Japan. There's a toy one and more than one manga one that obviously don't exist outside of Japan. So I bet Sony's really bummed about PlayStation All-Stars, because english people have only ever heard of Smash Brothers. So it looks way more sinister of a rip-off. Anyway, Virtual-On looks like some chunky-ass Jet-Grind-Radio era, NiGHTS lookin Dreamcast shit, which I am not looking for at all.
  3. BioShock Infinite

    I know, it's still funny.

Zone of Enders 2 is like my favourite game on PS2. Or one of. The PS2 has a lot of good games. I FOOLISHLY traded it in after beating it. Looking back now, ZoE 2 looks way too good to have come out in 2003- same as MGS2. It's an example, outside of Metal Gear, of how Kojima Corp is a fucking cutting-edge team. I love the music, it's my favourite mech design, I love the robot voices, and even the anime voice-acting isn't bad. They only ever showed humans in the game as 2D animation, and only ever showed the mechs as 3D because they couldn't render and animate the characters well enough in 3D back then. The two styles are never standing right next to each other, so it blends together really well. I love how fast the combat is, I love the circuit-board lines on everything, the explosions and tracer-missiles everywhere look awesome- to me it's a shame that they teamed up with Platinum Games to make this Raiden game when it makes so much more sense to make a Zone of Enders game with those guys. I mean Vanquish was already halfway there. Anyway, Zone of Enders 3 has been announced in the form of a couple sentences, and lots of concept art. So I'm interested in that. Never played the first one. I bought the second one based on a screenshot in a magazine, and the Hideo Kojima name on it, and also because it was 2-for-1 and I only wanted to buy The Sim: Bustin' Out on PS2. It's insane that I literally never saw it again since. I miss being surprised by games, I used to just buy cheap nonsense based on the boxart.
  5. XCOM Enemy Unknown

Yea I read in a description for some sniper rifle that they get less accurate the closer you get. But it definately goes back up at some point, cos I get plenty of 90%+ shots up close. On Normal.
  6. XCOM Enemy Unknown

Hey man, I can't see into the tech-tree future. This is like my first sniper. The DS game, "My First Sniper". Actually whatever, I stand by it. He killed like 50 guys.
  7. BioShock Infinite

Everyone keeps pointing out that some guys left irrational, but this game's bin in development for like 3 years and they'll be missing the last 6 months of it. They're not in any final-pass asset production or testing, it's mostly designers and directors, so their contribution to Bioshock Infinite would be finished. Anyway, if Nate Wells is the art director at Irrational then I think someone just got a serious GET! EDIT-- It's funny that the thread for Bioshock Infinite is called "Chris Remo's Icarus", Chris Remo being the community manager at Double Fine Productions, and Icarus being the game that is named Bioshock Infinite.
  8. XCOM Enemy Unknown

Rest in peace, "Lockdown" Rodriguez. Your ability to move and also shoot your sniper rifle in the same turn was a valuable skill in this war effort. Rest in peace "Ghost". If only you'd have lived to see the Ghost Armour that makes you go invisible, then your nickname would have been truly sick. Also your ability to sniper dudes twice was awesome. Rip in peace, "Magic Man". You may have only lasted for 2 missions, but it was enough to level up to the stage where you could carry 3 medkits, and that was still better than using rookies. RIP it up, Emily Edwards. I'm sure you would have been one of the characters to have psi-abilities if you'd have made it passed the first alien ship mission. Never 4get.
  9. Steam Greenlight

    I didn't say I don't get Steam Greenlight, I said I didn't get Steam greenlit.
  10. Steam Greenlight

I also didn't get Steam greenlit. "At least 10 new titles will be greenlit on November 30th" and my game is at #4. I'm kind of nervous about that. It's definately less glitched than it was last year, but in terms of the art and presentation, and game design, it's still that same game that got rejected. I'm actually feeling really bad about winning on a technicality here, assuming this is happening. I made this a year ago, and at this point I can CLEARLY see everything that's wrong with it, and am moving onto the next project a smarter person. I've accepted that it's not good enough. and I can see why, but seeing the opportunity to actually be on Steam this way makes that feel super duper weird. I wanna go in and re-draw half the backgrounds n add more sound effects and generally improve everything-- of course what I ACTUALLY want to do is release this new game that's made in Unity and not Flash- but I guess I'll have to wait to see if it actually gets greenlit first, otherwise I'd be making the effort for noone. If it turns out we're on some never-light blacklist then I guess I'd still have no money, but at least I'd feel really confident in Steam Greenlight. Also-- maybe don't quote me on this anywhere please, cos I do sound kinda stupid.
  11. Life

Someone just moved into the house I'm renting out, and as I wrote down a sticky-note to myself to get insurance, I laughed at how I'm a "land lord". So thanks fr that, podcast.
  12. (IGN.com)

The leap in logic you have to make to arrive at this sentence is fucking absurd. There's no way "343 did a really good job" just NATURALLY falls out as "The best kind of protest is waving a big hard dick in someone's face." Having decided that this sentence could only have been planned to be about erect dicks from the beginning, my only question is "why?". It's clearly not the most apt descriptor, and there's not a single thread of relevance to class it as a joke, so WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS THIS MAN'S CRYPTIC MOTIVE?
  13. XCOM Enemy Unknown

Update: I found out that stalling for a while without moving onto story-critical missions is actually a bad idea. So I decided to rewind my save and assault the alien base as soon as it came up instead of researching and unlocking things first. This was a much better idea because it turns out that lowers global panic by 2. Then I pulled out of an alien abduction mission and it turns out that kills your entire squad on the spot, so I decided to rewind my save again. This game is gonna take a long time to finish.

Excellent timing on "War has never been this realistic".
  15. XCOM Enemy Unknown

I've played this for about 8 hours or so. Kind of enjoying it a lot! On the other hand it's a really stressful game. The game is really dense with new enemies, it's got loads of unique tricks, I'm surprised at how much cutscene stuff there is, and it's really challenging and cool. I'm not totally sure of what I'm doing a lot of the time. Does cover make you take less damage, or make enemies miss you more often? It took me a while to figure out whether my new equipment is better than my old ones, and I'm still not totally sure, I don't get why some of my probabilities are so low, and I think the same enemies from the beginning have started doing more damage... also general cover stuff- it's a hard game to get into. I shot a rocket at some guys, and instead of sailing towards them it just hit the car right infront of me and I died. I'm not sure if I ENJOY having no simoleons, and having a Very Difficult mission come up while all my guys are recovering. Whenever my guys die (only about 3 of em) it's usually some dumb accident where I moved them half an inch away from cover, or I don't know how to revive people or something, so I'm not really appreciating the permanence of dieing so far. The game's really good though, so hopefully all the other stuff'll stop annoying me after a while.
  16. I thought Force Unleashed and Star Wars 1313 are supposed to be fairly good games? I've not played them, but you can PhysX doors open, and they're all like side-stories instead of just re-telling the movies again. It sounds like they're puttin a good effort in with games.
  17. When we're all living in the Year-of-the-PS3 future where we jack all our senses into Super Hexagon through an Occulus Rift and you cry from curiosity over what's in the cube, everything will be bought with macro-transactions.
  18. Yea that's what freemium is, I'm sure Ubisoft will carry the NOBLE TRADITION of paying $5 to plant super-turnips.
  19. Ubisoft has had "U-Play points" in it's games before; they are points earned by completing Splinter Cell (for example), stored on a Ubisoft server, and then spent on a new costume in Assassin's Creed 2. So it's surprising they came up with a whole new name for this. ...It's very silly that dollars converts to microsoft points WHICH THEN converts to Erudito points, and they all have different rates. Oh and EA did this in Mass Effect 3. You could pay to unlock items in the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer- and a lot of people did it, sadly. I'd guess that this is like that.
  20. I'm TRYING to get through this article, but I'm up to paragraph twelve and every single sentence so far has been about how this is a bad game. Which-- I'm reading Kotaku, so I already knew that. If this guy quotes one more Metacritic score then holy jeez. --Alright I'm halfway through it. Bblleuurrggh this is like a celeb gossip piece. I'm sure it's very true, and Denis Dyack isn't up to par for his role at Silicon Knights, but how necessary is it to say those good games before were only good because Nintendo helped? Do we need to completely shit on this whole company and rip em apart WHILE we tell sleepover stories about how much of a cartoon villain Denis Dyack is? -Okay now I'm done, the article got more focused. That was a very scary story; bumbling bosses and company failures are terrifying. He sounds like a boss I had once, but with much more at stake... and y'know what, I'm sure if someone handed me a company that big I'd fuck up aswel if I'm honest! I don't think we'll ever see Denis Dyack in an interview again, talking about this or anything else. Less than FIVE EMPLOYEES? welp...
  21. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

"See- now you're calling her Suicide Girl too." "Yeah." "Why is everyone doing that, her name is Sacrifice Girl." "I know Tim."
  22. Plug your shit

No I mean the shooter at the top of this page.
  23. Plug your shit

That fuck game is pretty funny.
  24. Plug your shit

I made a fake Twitter. Kind of. There's a site called DidYouKnowGaming who posts a tonne of really awesome Video game trivia that EVEN I DON'T KNOW! and I'm a person who LIKES Video games! So that inspired me to post my own that are 100% pure made-up bullshit If you think I'm a funny boy, then follow it! You'll get the jokes more the more you know about ACTUAL game trivia. I currently have zero followers, I don't know how to get the word out, really. I guess if I'm any good then people will notice.
  25. I also did this and yes I unlocked everything else. Nothing happened and I was really annoyed I'd bin tricked into spending like 30 minutes playing Stage 1 over n over again where something eventually happens and it didn't.
