Big Ken Levine interview: Nothing especially surprising. Made me think though that hearing people talk about a game with very little gameplay shown is a really fun way to find out all about it without spoiling it into not feeling new or exciting when it finally does come out. Obviously you can do that with a studio you trust, like Irrational, and probably not many other people.

Yeah this trailer's really funny. Once you realise how it works, you're like "oh of course, he's just doing this, this and this" but it's still a super funny, awesome trick.

I felt bad and thought "oh for god sake I have had it with these guys" then scrolled down and said PPPHHHHHEW!!!

My favourite moment: Samuel Jackson quotes, referrences and mentions Pulp Fiction eight trillion times, and I feel bad for everyone, everyone, just everyone, just oh my god just everyone. And yea why did they all think Phantom Pain was a Metal Gear Solid game? That seemed like a really out-of-nowhere conclusion to me. It just looked like a new game. I actually had a really hipsterish twinge of dissapointment as soon as this mysterious new next-generation trailer said "get up, soldier!"... then all the army guys came innnn... EDIT-- OH! ...Oh ok. I was wondering about those weird lines on the logo, I thought it was like... "bits of letters are missing because a bit of YOU are missing!!!". Now I changed my mind, I actually think it's really funny that the GameTrailers guys immeadiately called it out as a Metal Gear game. It's also a pretty funny marketing thing to have a game that would get huge hype to announce, but instead announce a game on live TV that kind of doesn't really exist.

Ken Levine talks about this boxart. Yea I hope you're happy Kotaku, NeoGaf, 4chan etc! You've actually made this company come out and EXPLAIN it's boxart ya weird jerks. You suck, Video game fans.

Yeah, "Halo 4 is waving a dick in your face" was from Joystiq, and a lot of quotes in this thread are from Wired. We're barely even talking about IGN. Apart from the times that it actually is IGN, like "Amy is like Ico plus zombies and it is brilliant." Marketing is all about rounding people up into demographics- I think you're jumping multiple guns to be so extremely offended here. I don't think it's disgusting oppressive segregation to say "Are you looking to advertise at 18-35 males? Then do it here in our men's magazine! Manly bro-fist time, that's the joke etc." That's just some marketing agent bein a goofball.

This thread is about dumb quotes from EVERY website, it just always circles back around to IGN because the original joke was IGN.com and they're the best/worst at it. This thread could just as easily be about Gametrailers.com. It's not about the site, it's just about dumb quotes.

One studio I'd like to see make a round of short games: Bioshock Infinite developer, Irrational Games.

You ARE being a little crazy if you don't like it being called a shooter.

The big thing with that FUSE art is that I can't see what it's a picture of. The giant orange thing in the middle could be water, fire, or just some kind of lense flare. Whatever it is, it's pushing his hip out a lot and he's holding a sword version of it in the other hand. The guy (girl?) behind him is holding a gun that I can't tell where it ends or begins. It's like the whole image is obscured by white noise, and for some reason that's the #1 focal point. Then everyone's head is cropped out, so you're just looking at a bunch of torsos getting eaten alive by Inner Glow. I'd really argue that even though you can say the OverStrike one is a bit uninteresting, you have to admit that the Fuse one is insane.

The Fuse art IS really unbelievably bad.
