  1. Id's Rage

I thought RAGE was fairly fun, but nothing incredible. I thought it had a small handful of really fun weapons, like the electric bolt and mind-control. The spider-bot was crazy well-made, I could watch that thing climb over fences n shit all day. If only there were A COUPLE MORE! It doesn't have enough surprises for me to actually say "this game is full of cool weapons". The loudest thought in my head when I finished RAGE was that it felt like an old PS2 game from like the early 2000s. In the last mission you have to jump over lasers, and they start throwing huge robocop armour guys at you, and when you kill them you GET THEIR MINIGUN!!!!!!! The way you had to win races to advance sometimes, I legitemately felt like I was playing Jak & Daxter again. Not saying that was a bad thing! It's funny that it showed up in Breaking Bad, cos it does feel like a game a TV show would make up on the spot.
  2. Jehuty in 1080p

I skipped the first one and it was still worth buying. Never played it once tbh.
  3. BioShock Infinite

I assumed it was a spoiler for which also does that.
  4. Cyberpunk 2077

So which part was you interested in? Was it the hair thing?
  5. Cyberpunk 2077

Roleplaying game of the future? THEY WERE RIGHT
  6. Cyberpunk 2077

Then at the end she's on their team with no hair, so I guess like hair makes you go crazy in this universe. So that's a fairly interesting twist.
  7. Cyberpunk 2077

Yeah. Watch the trailer, she has like raptor-claws. I think the point is that this robot-enhanced cyber-babe 3000 forgot what humanity was and went on a rampage, then like neo-cops jacked in to the grid and de-rezzed her just in time or whatever.
  8. Cyberpunk 2077

I'm all for this killing-spree knife-woman dripping with blood, but man if only she had smaller breasts! Space-cops shooting at robots from flying cars in slow-motion is all well and good, but a sexy lady is just obvious pandering.
  9. I assume GTA closes itself off so that new players don't get lost and feel like it takes too long to get anywhere, which might more likely happen if everything was open from the start. ...probably. I dunno. GTA is still pretty old-school like that in some ways. I had a load of interesting stuff to add when I was listening to this, but like 12 hours later all I can remember is Chris making a sweet binary quip and going "heh heh hehhhh..." and I couldn't believe everyone didn't just crack up immeadiately. I'm still laughing thinking about that dumb concieted tiny laugh. In my head it was like a mexican standoff, except everyone was horrified.
  10. Return of the Steam Box!

They did give the Wii U an English name, they put a U in it. yessssss sweet cultural dialect jokes, heh heh hehhhhh!
  11. Kentucky Route Zero - A Game in Five Acts

I'm gonna play this without looking up anything about it, but I have to ask: Is this any kind of spooky horror game? I didn't wanna play Dear Esther cos the only thing I ever saw about it was screenshots of you wandering around on a beach at night, and news that they started work on the next Amnesia game. So is this mysterious in like a fantasy way, or mysterious in like a creepy weird freakout way?
  12. The threat of Big Dog

Squadrons of Big Dogs will unfurl from the docking bays of Big Big Dog.
  13. Return of the Steam Box!

"Biometrics and gaze-tracking", the horrifying future of Video games looms ever closer...
  14. Shadow of the Colossus: the movie

and then he finds that one invincible turtle in the middle of the map, and it's like "did I find a secret here? am I supposed to collect this? what the hell is this." and he shoots it with arrows for a few minutes.
  15. Strike Zoot Zero

Wow! I have never heard of this series, but I've bin playing my ZoE HD Edition for the passed month, so when that ship turned into a robot trailing lasers all over the place, that definately got me onboard. Here's some "alpha" gameplay from 4 months ago... so when is this coming out again? Very nice sickass space pictures and planets blowing up, I should probably keep a lookout for this. EDIT- ooh this game got Kickstarted in November. I think they were looking for money to finish off the game rather than to start it.
  16. Return of the Steam Box!

I'm struggling to believe that this tiny thing can play Video games and the box under my desk cannot. I really didn't expect it to look like that! ...Actually I'm just gonna say it, this straight up makes me feel like a bum for owning a PC I can't play games on. Also sorry I couldn't find a video that doesn't have such a dopey host.
  17. Shadow of the Colossus: the movie

I can only imagine this coming out and looking exactly like that that came out a couple years ago. w/e man they should do it without subs! I'd watch a movie that was mostly no dialogue as long as it wasn't like 3 hours.
  18. The Future of video game difficulty

I played Dark Souls and I practically didn't switch armour for the first half of the game. The difficulty totally came from the natural system of having tense high-stakes one-hit sword fights. Then in the second half of the game, once I'd fully figured out the combat, it actually did turn into me just levelling up enough to chip down guys with giant health bars, and I didn't bother finishing it. But the first half was great!
  19. The Future of video game difficulty

lol that basically same thing happened to me, when I started asking why all my ideas were getting turned down and found out it's because these sites are here to just siphon ad-clicks out of kids and old people who got lost. I almost gave in TO THE DARKNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. The Future of video game difficulty

I think this whole conversation is so broad that it's hard to really come at it. It feels like you're talking as if this is all Video games- but what you're really talking about is the slice between Call of Duty and something slightly more niche like Dark Souls. The 3 or 4 big blockbuster games that Ubisoft, THQ, 2K and those kinds of publishers put out every year- and looking at all the games I played last year, Mass Effect 3 is the only ONE that's relevant here. And games used to be impossible a hundred years ago, but actually a lot has changed. Nobody's playing Walking Dead for the puzzles, and there isn't a 25c CONTINUE screen if you die in... anything. People who play Video games are older on average now, and so on etc. Your solution to this none-problem (Game of the year last year was fucking XCOM by the way) is to ask people who are LESS INVESTED in games than you and me to INVEST MORE. Another way of looking at this idea is that you're asking people to pay for an easy mode, which as standard right now is free. You can just play the handful of games you're thinking of on Hard. Also I've played DmC and it didn't feel toned down whatsoever. He has basically the same moves as Nero except there's 2 seperate ways to pull enemies, you can switch weapons, there's this Ikaruga thing to watch out for with all the enemies, and the controls are full of context-sensetive switches that if you ask me make it way harder to use. Long-story short this is not the thread for me! EDIT-- Also there are ways to DESIGN a gameplay interface that's easy to get into, and then ramps up and gets more interesting. Look at Street Fighter 4!
  21. Things That Improve Your Life

OH- fucking sticky notes. A couple years ago I had my first office job, and the guy next to me would put yellow post-its on the corner of his monitor. I now use that for dozens of everyday life things that normal people seem to miraculously just remember. It sounds like a goofy old-school thing that someone in a sitcom would do, but whatever I'm here actually doing it.

I see this message is courtesy of Yoshi, but I have to ask can we trust him?
  23. Things That Improve Your Life

In February 2009 I won a Wacom tablet in a contest. The contest was to draw Ed McMillen naked, and it's his old Wacom that he'd already had for presumably at least a year. Not sure why I won, I wasn't the best or anything. So now this thing is really old, and I'm still using it. Literally every day, I use it instead of the mouse. It would've been an unwise purchase back when I was in college or whatever, but I've animated many cool things on it since that would've probably come out weird and stupid if I was still mousin' it up. Also just having a phone and facebook- cos oh my god if I didn't have that, how the hell would I speak to anyone!!!! New Years? Birthdays? I'd just be sittin here WONDERING what everyone else was doing!
  24. iPad gaming

Alright I've had an iPad for about a week, and I've not bin following this thread, I've just been downloading whatever's hot. When I was given the choice to wait 12 hours for this building to build in Clash of Clans, or buy enough gems to make it build faster, I chose the option of quitting out to the home screen and deleting all of my iPad games immeadiately. Then I bought and played the first section of Sword & Sworcery, and that was cool and weird, so thumbs up on that!
  25. The threat of Big Dog

I programmed my Big Dog to wait outside right before I descended the smokey steps of the Rusty Motherboard. Wading through a swamp of noise, I made my way to the bar..."Compressorhead playing Ace of Spades again, Sam? When's the last time we had a human band in this place!?" "Aaaaahh human bands aint worth the nano-creds!!!" An AR Drone offered me a cigarrette.
