Nice work Niyeaux! Also Reyjavik rocks, you got some good landmarks on that poster JKO. I didn't see anyone playing a guitar with an e-bow so that is one Icelandic music pitfall avoided...

Tegs, then is it true that 75% of NB conurbations end in an "on" sound, or does GameZilla have some sort of strange, Kid's Net Café bias? With that and the dubiously sourced Peach cushion knock-off I am imagining that GameZilla is a suitable candidate for inclusion in Welcome to Nightvale.

Yeah, that's great news SG, you really put a shift in over the case and the level of detail means that it's not only a fascinating read but practical and helpful too. Anyway, go Synth.

They inadvertently used a sleeper cell network's trigger phrase as the game title

That... could have been better worded

I was looking up video game websites with the word "Zilla" in the title and found gamezilla.ca/locations/ which appears to be some sort of Canadian internet café enterprise that specializes in children's parties and Iron Man suits. The whole thing is kitted out in the colors of Animal Crossing New Leaf's balloon furniture suite... kind of like if computers had been invented before Ronald McDonald?

Idle Thumbs 120: The Spectacle Was Incredible
Justin Leego replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Episode title reminds me of the ending to Super Furry Animals song 'Receptacle for the Respectable' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_mlymZvkVc Song makes a drastic genre switch about three quarters of the way through... will the same be true of Idle Thumbs episode number 120? -
Dan Maher, the Nice Mark Lamarr of video games, showing Phil Spencer how to wear a jacket and t-shirt combo in style.

Deadlight wasn't a convincing success, no, but it was pretty promising for a studio debut. Factoid: one of the Tequila Works founders was also co-founder at Mercury Steam (although he did leave before Castlevania: Lords of Shadow of the Colossus was published).

That'd be a shame considering The Line's reputed artistic merits at least.

Airport japes: - Take some unwanted paperback books and negotiate swaps with those of passing passengers - Organize adhoc Blow Football matches and tournaments - Set up a raffle for a matchbox supercar next to the terminal's obligatory Lambourghini Sweepstakes stand - Tell the bored duty free staff you are making a YouTube show about their funniest and maddest airport stories. Then halfway through the interview have an accomplice roll up in an inflatable superman suit

Surely in these kinds of games, making the frame rate stutter shows that you're playing it the right way!

Thanks, that puts me more at ease. Yes, it's a lightweight setup. i3-3225, 8GB stick, single "green" HDD running at 5900, on a mini-ITX board and wedged into an ITX case. The Sapphire HD 7770 is supposed to require a 400w PSU but tests show it takes 190w to 230w depending on the edition so hopefully it'll be ok. I've even plugged the DVD drive back in, that's how bleeding edge we are now. Hasn't blown up yet... hasn't had to deal with Monday night Grand Thumb Autoing yet either... -
I found these Fun Facts on the back of a Saints Flow cereal packet: 1. Eric Casper and Ghostface Killa both contributed to the original Saints Row soundtrack 2. Stillwater Caverns' gift shop is labelled a "Haunted Section" and multiple players report discovering a creepy nighttime Easter egg at the Saints Row 2 location of Mourning Wood Cemetery house 3. Promotional material for Saints Row: The Third appears within the Marlon Wagons movie A Haunted House 4. Soilers! Saints Row IV contains an achievement called Ghost in the Machine

...So how foolhardy would it be to pair an HD 7770 with a small form factor 300w power supply? -
Man in a cheap Pikmin costume with his hand stuck in a jumbo loo roll holder.
-
True, although $60 or equivalent is unreasonably expensive in some countries, particularly those where piracy is the norm and supported by retail as a result of otherwise unaffordable prices..

Would love it if the PlayStation 5IVEs had some avatar clothing provided by the PS Home brand. Also. Really want there to be a Second Life reference but there probably won't be.

No mention of add-on purchases yet. Wise. Regardless of a possible F2P future, It's interesting that the multiplayer component is now being presented as a discrete product that comes free with GTA V single player. Might say something about - what proportion of GTA IV console players went online with it, and how much - how Rockstar feels the majority of the game-playing public view comparable multiplayer-heavy games (CoD for example)?
-
These previews are for the console versions so we'll have to wait and see on that one. Burnout Paradise? Yeah, definitely. I'm sure Rockstar devs want to make this a BP beater. As for F2P GTA Online, Mington you should have taken bets, you'd be halfway to the bank by now. If there's an F2P hook, especially in markets where that's the norm, then it's a very canny move by R*. Room for an eSports angle / cash tournament aspect or is that a step too far?
