  1. Life

That's interesting. Do you feel that Post-Modernism is therefore also susceptible to fascist interpretation, rooted as it is in Modernist ideals, or has it sufficiently changed to avoid such an end point?
  2. Life

Rodi, what goes into creating a publishing company in the Nederlands? Is it as easy as registering with a website or is there more to it than that?
  3. Half-Life 3

But it smells so good on the first of the fourth! (and it's right in your sig )
  4. Get Jetting: JetGetters on Kickstarter + Thumbs Group Buy Info

Eesh, there was only one backer yesterday but they put in $5k, the biggest amount so far, which means JetGetters is over the half way mark with a little more than two weeks to go. Looks like it's gonna make it, but only just!
  5. The DayZ thread of TEAMWORK and STORIES

A narrow ledge on the hospital roof in Elektro, with broken legs after a ladder glitched out. Idle Thumbs server.
  6. Half-Life 3

Sniff... sniff... smells like Polycount.... mmm, with hints of MapCore....
  7. I Had A Random Thought...

Yes! Each Goldblum's visual representation plays a sound efffect upon mouseover, a unique variation on "ah" or "ha."
  8. The Elder Scrolls Online free-to-play betting pool!

Loving your perspectives on what makes for a worthwhile MMO, Merus. My no-money bet is 18 months.
  9. Life

They should have stored it in the snow!
  10. April Fool's Roundup

One of my primary school teachers, a feared disciplinarian, thought it would be a good wheeze to call us up to her desk one by one and make us read to her from an upside down book. She told us that it was a new mandatory government test (not that most of us even understood the concept of government at that age), that we absolutely had to do it no questions asked, and it was not an April Fools' joke. The next day she got up in school assembly and as part of a "special announcement" proclaimed her apparent victory to the entire staff and student body. No hard feelings though, obviously

Is mining a Goldblum a bit like finding a rare item in one of the Steam Economy games?
  12. Metro: Last Light

    An AAAA collection.
  13. The DayZ thread of TEAMWORK and STORIES

I need someone to come rescue me on the Idle Thumbs server. I don't want to log back in just to unload my backpack, die, and not make it back to the remains before they vanish. Please.

That burger bounces just like finely braized rubber. Delicious.
  16. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

    The dogs are watching.
  17. Jake's Portrait in Danger Sort Of

    LOMAs, of course!

  19. Oculus rift

It's fair to say that the Oculus Rift already has applications outside of the video game sector, especially in architectural, interior or vehicular design. Naturally, those commercial applications aren't as well popularised or perhaps not as widespread as the more obvious gaming ones. You do make a good point in that it makes sense for Facebook to be highly invested in widening the Oculus's use beyond games and into other consumer(-)friendly areas.
  20. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I find that choice particularly interesting. Isn't Miller supposed to be bicultural? Is he known to represent anything particular ideals, traits, or systems of thought?
  21. Counter-Strike Idle Terrorism.

I submit the same question for consideration.
  22. Recently completed video games

I was wondering the same thing. Sounds like it takes a hit but all things considered it still does pretty well, if you're ok with 20fps at times (which Digital Foundry appeared to be on this occasion). http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-metal-gear-solid-ground-zeroes-face-off
