Perhaps it'd be better to distinguish two ways in which the word "science" can be used in these sorts of discussions the scientific method as used in order to move closer to an impartial observation of nature a materialistic and atheistic worldview Does that seem fair? edit: Sure, fair enough.

Thanks all! Looks like The Lost Room is a bit of a winner then. Agreed - just coming off the back of the millionth series re-watch. The Newsroom might have been next up, were it not so SorkinSorkin. Ta Ben! You're right, both The West Wing and The Wire are serious political dramas and incredibly well produced, but one of the key percieved differences, in this case, is that WW arcs usually have a positive outcome. Would Treme and Homicide be more in line with The Wire in that respect? Oh, in regard to Fargo, Another promising candidate!

Hello good TV watching people. I come in search of recommendations for someone that was hugely into The West Wing and The Wire but, post-Breaking Bad, has grown tired of a trend for Machiavellian characterization à la House of Cards. Game of Thrones is not of interest either. Warehouse 13 came up around halfway through this thread and could be good. Are there any other lesser known series (or miniseries) worth watching that spring to mind?

Game bought, homage JPG created. I'm expecting Hot Shots / Everybody's Golf lite, with added Nintendo Network weirdness. Don't let me down, Mario Luigi !

"I love you, Han" "...okay" This is how the entirety of Star Wars should have ended. -
Mario Golf: World Tour. Reviews are fair to good. Quite interested in it. May perch it this week. The season pass feels a bit ... uncharacteristic, especially after New Leaf, but it's Mario Golf.

Oscar Isaac's got your back with his Guatemalan country of origin. Bjorn, you are not wrong about that. Max von Sydow succumbs to the force and transmogrifies into Evil Emperor Busey.

Is the forum search down? It's not returning any results for some really obvious words. (not including *********) e: same for using "find content" on member profiles

Idle Thumbs 155: The Satisfaction of a Job Well Done

Excellent! Please consider releasing this and / or bring it to the attention of your compatriots at Coffee Stain Studios. -
Cross-posting from the dedicated thread for bargain reasons: Red Orchestra 2 is free for life* if you start downloading it from Steam before "tomorrow" ie. before the weekend deals start. Rising Storm will then be one of the weekend deals.

Discriminatory reasons, I would wager. The games will be on sale at some point in future, surely. It's just a question of whether you can wait or whether you want to take advantage now.

I and many others refer to objectivegamereviews.com for all our purchasing and interview needs.

Admittedly, the chances are pretty slim. But we do get people popping up now and again to complain about the supposed radical liberal bias of podcast guests so, on that basis, you never know.

Duty bound to mention that Far Cry 2 is $2.49 on GOG for the next half a day or so

You should send that in to questions at idle thumbs dot net.

Get Jetting: JetGetters on Kickstarter + Thumbs Group Buy Info
Justin Leego posted a topic in Video Gaming
Executive Summary: If you want I_Smell's JetGetters for $5, skip to the end and sign up. We have seven places left on the current list. If you want a cascade of unprocessed information and excitement, unspoil below. It's heavily inspired by Just Cause 2, Battlefield 3, and Team Fortress 2. 4. Pauper Tier Forum Group-Buy Details The JetGetters Kickstarter has a minimum tier of $10 for one (1) Steam key. However, the limited run Speedy Treasure Island tier provides ten (10) Steam keys, early prototype access, digital bonuses, as well as a bundle of seven tinyBuild games, some already available and some near-future releases for $51 all-in -- that's $5 per JetGet, math fans. I've pledged for the $51 tier on faith that there'll be enough of us interested in splitting it up at $5 each. If you want more than one copy at $5 a go... then sure, why not? (I guess we can split the tinyBuild bundle contents amongst ourselves, or put it into a sort of Thumbs Poverty Fund, or whatever.) Let me know... or let this thread burn like a Wyoming forest fire. Your call, Thumbers. Thumboolians. Thumberites. Together we can be... the ThumbGetters. JetGetters for $5 01. Justin Leego 02. prettyunsmart 03. Looks like everything turned out better than expected, great stuff! I've messaged everyone on our list to see how we could best divvy up the tinyBundle. I was kind of hoping to keep the JetGetters key for myself even though it'll be the last one available. Am I terrible?- 31 replies

Tom's Gone Home OST: Reconnaissance Fan Tom Heh! Thanks for the laugh, that's exactly how it felt. I greatly enjoyed Bad Company 2 and playing with the same bunch of players was fantastic, so Tom Clancy's Ghost's Ghost interests me because it seems to place an even greater emphasis on teamwork. The thing that grated with BC2 was just as you described. It would have been far more interesting if the experienced players had a restricted armory - of course, that's not going to work in a F2P game where you can just create a new account and become a "new" player again. Evidently DICE didn't think it would in a BF game either...
