I'm enjoying your screenshots so that's good news for me too

Oh Nintendo needs to license that hot and super serious strategy action for the next Mario Party game right now! WOAH DIBS that image is so much larger on a desktop screen. Also you look kind of Scandi (in a good way).

Yeah, MKWii might not have been the best Mario Karter but the online managed to combine cuteness and cruelty in the way that Mario Kart does best. Random discons made sense when viewed in this way: it's how the AI blue-shells every human racer. But that's not this. Now, if only I had $299 to scrape together....

So that Be Mine 13 bundle is live for the next two weeks. The upper tier is $4 - for that you get Miasmata, The Longest Journey, Spate, Nekro, and however many of the 7 possible bonuses are unlocked, as well as the other three. I don't see that being beaten by this summer's Steam sale, though if you already have Mias and TLJ then I guess it depends on what those bonuses turn out to be?

Me too! Have your guests seen it before? Do they know what they're in for? Maybe follow it up with a bit of Highlander for some Spanish-accented Sean Connery action.

It's a new size standard indicating that files are being distributed uncompressed to dissuade peer-to-peer software piracy.

Kinda intrigued to see how Sony and Microsoft are gonna play it this year after 2013's pre-next-current gen faceoff. I guess each of the three console co's would like to hit the mix of humility, sincerity and humor that Sony bottled for '13. Circumstances are different now.

I can certainly appreciate those sorts of familial cocktails. Jon, it sounds like you've got a culinary plan to deal with any eventualities that might arise, and from experience, it's a good one - I spent a fortnight eating French "supermarket style" as you describe. Fine beers and wines were incredibly (unbelievably) inexpensive, though mainly kept myself on a diet of baguette, cheese and ham with the occasional jar of pickled gherkin as garnish. The food of royalty. Poor royalty, but nonetheless...

If you do take the bakery option, you can usually pick up a filled baguette sandwich for around €4 ($5.50), and with a canned drink and a pastry for €6ish ($8) as part of a set menu or "formule". You can certainly eat on a budget this way, depending on where you shop. Obviously, places right next to major tourist attractions will be pricier. Street vendors aren't really that big a thing, though food trucks are, and incidentally your best bet of getting a US-style burger cooked US-style. Apart from the Frogburger chain which has the air of being aimed squarely at North American visitors. How interesting, could you expand on this a little further?

Thanks man, that was a soothing summary. What was the name of the atmospheric audio mod you mentioned?

Groupees' Be Mine 13 bundle looks like a day one perch for several reasons. Supposed to launch sometime on May 30th June 2nd. I'm expecting several tiers, topping out at about $5, and bonus games added as milestones are reached over the two week promotion period. Miasmata - Idle Thumbs excerpts: , Spate - atmospheric jump & run about a guy with absinthe problems. Developer was an animator for Jim Henson, Disney, Sony Animation. Antisquad - turnbased tactics with solid user reviews Legend of Dungeon - 2D ARPG roguelikelikelike dungeon crawl Alpha Kimori 1 - 5 hour Phantasy Star homage The Longest Journey Nekro - singleplayer / multiplayer Torchlightalike on Early Access ($15) for Lin, Mac, Win. 100% Steam user reviews approval rating. (Thought Dead Island: Epidemic showed promise, but then maybe I'm easily pleased when it comes to 'innovation' within the LOMAlike sphere? (I still have a bunch of free beta keys if anyone wants to try it for themselves))

Forget ye not! The theme tune for children's TV series Rainbow was written and performed by a band named Telltale. Associated British TV theme tune abuse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUGc_JnJdHw -
Or a tease within a denial: "We have nothing to say about that franchise at this time"

The Cite des Sciences et de l'Industrie at Parc de la Villette has a video games exhibit on at the moment, called Jeu Vidéo l'Expo. You can get there by taking metro lines 7 or 5. Bonus: there is a McDo on site (and several other worthwhile restaurants nearby (and a branch of French steak chain Hippopotamus)). If you are going to Versailles, there's a leisurely bicycle tour run by a small company called Bike About Tours that you might like to look into. They're a friendly bunch and are accustomed to taking both inexperienced and confident cyclists. Oh! Depending on when you get there, the Paris Game Dev bar meetup is usually on the first Thursday if the month. As the title suggests, it's primarily for game devs, but it's generally a good ol' chit-chat, the organizers have been known to widen the net to include 'those enthusiastic about the game industry..'. You'd meet folk from the city's indie studios like Amplitude, Eugen, Spiders, and a bunch of mobile studios. Finally, check out the video game space at the Gate Lyrique museum / cultural center. It's the best. The best. If you can talk to the curator, even better!

He also happens to be a great crosser.

Consider me a EuroThumb for timezone purposes. Having never MvM'd before, is there anything I should download beforehand?
