SpeedRunners. When is SpeedRunners going on a flash or daily? WHEN I MUST KNOW WHEN I'm gonna get it when it's sub-$5 as my third and final perch of the sale period, but for that to happen I need it to go at least 50% off. Twas a failed Community Choice on the first day, Assetto Corsa was in the same batch and is today's daily. So c'mon!

Looked at the Steam Summer Adventure Sweepstakes T&Cs for a laugh "Alternate Entry: To manually enter the Sweepstakes, each eligible entrant must print his or her name, address, city, state, country, postal code, email address, Steam account name, and telephone number, as well as the day of the sale that the entry is for, on a self-addressed 4”x6” note card and mail the completed form to: Valve Corporation, P.O. Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688. Note cards mailed in envelopes will not be accepted prior to June 19, 2014. Note cards mailed in envelopes and postmarked between June 19 and June 29, 2014 will be accepted. No e-mailed or faxed alternate entries are eligible. Facsimiles, photocopies or mechanical reproductions of entries will be void. Alternate entries received after July 1, 2014 will not be eligible for any Sweepstakes. Each user may submit one alternative entry per the day from June 19 to June 28; each day’s entry must be postmarked on that day. Proof of sending or submitting an alternate entry is not proof of receipt of such alternate entry." No purchase necessary (beyond that of postage and stationary materials). S'pose it depends on the median cost of accruing Summer Adventure Point anyway...

Adventures of Shuggy is free from the dev's website right now. One per IP it would seem. http://www.smudgedcat.com/shuggy_giveaway/

Red team started winning consistently on Day 6, after Valve announced teams in 2nd and 3rd place would also have an infinitesimal chance of winning even less of a wishlist prize. So that threw "the plan" out the window.

Idle Thumbs 164: The Seed of a Sneeze
Justin Leego replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Speaking of associating given names with words that could be horrible illnesses Mmm, foot ailments. I agree, but don't you gotta wait 10 years for that? Until then, how about we put together an installation piece. -
Far Cry 4 = Tower Toppler with guns

Thank you based Gaynor for 85% off Gone Home in the current flash sale.

OK, but you gotta donate at least 1 point to be eligible. If your team wins, contributors get 2 Summer Adventure Badge cards. If it doesn't, contributors get 1 card.

Yeah, it very much appears to be a co-ordinated effort when comparing the daily team win with examples such as the "Operation: Everyone Work As A Team" schedule on Reddit: Actual winners so far: The whole thing seems a bit weird to me given the apparently minute chance of being one of 30 chosen at random to receive 3 games for free. As Bjorn said, the cost of switching teams is generally enough to buy one of the bigger name discounts anyway. If you're crafting like crazy and switching teams every day to maximise your minimal chances, then.... uhh.... I guess you're keeping the Steam Economy going for us lesser mortals who are relying on good trading card prices to snag one or two "free" games over the course of the sale?

edit: what Jon said. Deal!

So the Can't Stop Laughing Bundle, which is Battleblock Theatre and Castle Crashers, is 90% off on the store ($2.49) until the current flash sale expires. I guess most people have Castle Crashers but it's still cheaper than Battleblock's sale price of 75% off ($3.74). General video game deal?

Going back to the Mario-Mercedes thing, now that no-one's interested - I can't place the actor slash model who plays HumanMario and it's really bugging me. He reminds me of one of the actors in the Mario Warfare series. Specifically, Jarod Kearney, the guy that plays Luigi. Dunno though. Dunno. This Business Insider write-up has a freeze frame demonstrating just how bad my facial recognition skills are: http://www.businessinsider.com/super-mario-mercedes-benz-gla-ad-2014-5

People didn't like Looper? Huh. Are they confusing it with Jumper? Die Hard 4.0?
-
Well when you put it like that...

Say, that's an idea. We could always twin Idle Thumbs Dot Net with a clean toilet project in a poor community.

Which team are you on, Bjorn? Came pretty close to Shadowrunning before reminding myself that there's no way I'm making it to the other side of Backlog Mountain before the Winter Sale.

Mercedes is more of a retired dad, grandad sort of marque. Nintendo hasn't deserted its hardcore Brain Age fanbase.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Justin Leego replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
That's where the analogy holds up better, as the more well known YouTubers will have an avalanche of games sent to them for free by developers and publishers.
