  1. Share short games you enjoy that require no fee.

Huh. Apparently there's some creative lineage running from Spybotics: The Nightfall Incident through to Diner Dash and Drop7. Good find!
  2. Looking forward to Minecraft NFC figurines.
  3. Mario Kart 7

So who else has still got Mario Kart 7? How about some races?
  4. I Had A Random Thought...

Do you pronounce "drawing" as draw-wing OR drawring ?
  5. True. Someone like Paul McCartney can certainly afford to work on revenue share. He can afford to work for nothing, ever.
  6. The Idle Thumbs Store

Your feet are in very good condition.
  7. I felt like the author could (should) have been entirely more specific about his studio demographic and employee income during the unsalaried period.
  8. Life

I would love to learn Canadian French.
  9. I created this helpful timezone chart to help decipher when the best evening gaming times occur. edit - in seriousness I wonder if, seeing as new games are chosen every two weeks, we could go for the first Monday (EU & NA separate) and then repeat at the same time on the the following Sunday (joint session) over the fortnight period.
  10. Great idea, Lu! Can I swap you ONE (1) STEAMGIFTABLE COPY OF BIONIC COMMANDO for ONE (1) STEAMGIFTABLE COPY OF BURNOUT PARADISE ? That way you will have an extra copy of Burnout Paradise for the freebie pool if (when) we do a Burnout night.

  12. Nintendo 3DS

Hope that the phrase "we went nuts with our guts" is worked into Reggie Fils-Aime's scripted recap of 2014/15 at next year's E3
  13. Nintendo 3DS

Great way to sell all the old 3DS innards and shells before the New Newtendo 3DS arrives.
  14. Life

It's funny cos until now I wasn't aware of my subconscious assumption that Griddlelol's first name is Dave. I don't have anything against Dave as a first name. Or a last name, for that matter.
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I'm on the verge of dropping Lord of the Rings: War in the North. There are coding deficiencies on the PC version that cause severe stuttering and crashing on systems with AMD graphics cards. The most egregious offender is the first part of the very last level. Just no way through it, no way. I'll make one last attempt, probably by completely uninstalling and physically removing my card to definitively force integrated graphics. If that doesn't work, it's (unfortunately) done with. Bye bye, new game plus. Otherwise it's an enjoyable hack & slash adventure for one to three players, within a recognisable, Peter Jacksonised, Tolkien-inspired fiction. For a combat-oriented game, there are a couple of fairly lengthy walking interludes, purely for the purpose of establishing a feel for the characters' journey and drawing attention to its environmental art. Nice touch. Anyway, it's been fun. Perhaps a little too long. Probably more fun in multiplayer (unless one or more are using AMD cards, grumble grumble). TLDR I'd recommend it to anyone that doesn't like closure.
  16. Idle Thumbs 175: It's an Itchio

Oh man now I really want to play BBC Micro Super Golf (image from thegolfclubgame.com/2014/02/13/dev-teams-favourite-golf-games)
  17. Idlethumbs changed my life forever

    That's OK then.
  18. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Whereas they are in fact more in line with the discursive approach extolled by Biff Tannen. Forgive me for being permanently behind on things, but this is now about controlling and shutting down conversations, moving aggressively and with great hostility against vocal opponents in order to cause discouragement, and attempting to render key words and phrases meaningless so as to stifle critical thought, is it not? It's sad to see users of 4chan so willingly employ the insidious, cruel and inhumane tactics of a Scientology movement it once so vehemently opposed.
  19. Idlethumbs changed my life forever

So ah Tycho you just had those lying around for a length of time
  20. Perhaps it's just coincidence but It's great timing to have this story come out just as Destiny releases. Assuming that Sony is reaping the benefits of being able to associate itself closely with Destiny.
  21. Feminism

True enough. No pot of gold at the end of this sunset.
  22. Feminism

Obtaining her home address for legal proceedings is one thing (disgustingly tenuous, given the uniqueness of Sarkeesian's forename and surname combination), but publicizing it instead of using it for the stated purpose is shameful and surely counter-productive if the anti-Quinn/Anita core are still invested in maintaining a facade of respectability. Unless they no longer are. First post emotes:
  23. Well if that's true, then... well... huge franchise potential, original game badly needs to be rewritten (but already has been for Xbox and PS editions, right?), loads of toy tie-ins already, annual fan convention, buy-out prevents sequels going to Facebook Oculus / PlayStation / other mobile rivals etc. Wonder if Notch would just go into full-on philanthropic beast mode.

To make up for your account suspension, you receive a copy of Half-Life: The Mossman Chronicles, a faux-ARG and poorly programmed branching narrative Twine adventure in which you play research scientist Judith Mossman as she interviews for the post of Research Associate at Black Mesa Research Facility, a position which is always given to male applicant Gordon Freeman upon the recommendation of Old Boys Network member Isaac Kleiner, regardless of player choice throughout the experience. (now I want to play Half-Life: Decay)
