Here's me: I don't know why it's in a thumbnail view. I'm wearing my less-than-entirely-successful minotaur costume from Minotaur China Shop for Halloween last year. I had a stack of plates to go with it. Of course, no one knew what the heck I was supposed to be. Do I get points for a video-game themed Halloween costume?

I wonder if the female hero will be an impossible beefcake in Fable III like she was in Fable II. Few things in that game entertained me more than a level 5 physique and a bunch of meat pies on that female character.

I'm super excited to play. I'll possibly get a headset as well, eventually. I'm not sure how to join a group of specific people remotely, however. When? When? Sign me up!

I'll second the art design in Valkyria Chronicles. I love how it looks. I only played the demo, however, so I haven't got a great idea of the gameplay. Has anyone played Settlers 7? I thought it came out the end of march? I don't know if I missed the thread or what, but I didn't notice anyone talking about it very much. I think I'll need a new video card to play it, at the very least.

Wow! Humans! Miffy, you look the least like I expected. Somehow I just assumed that you actually were Animal, I guess. Patters looks the most like my brain thinks he should. I imagine that I'd have a huge mental disconnect in response to a picture of Groucho, as well. I envision him looking like his avatar so much that I'm sure my head would explode to see that he's not an 18th century Dutch guy, or whatever.

My favorite thing about the music maker in Mario paint was the cat, dog and pig(?) noises. At least I think I remember a pig noise. I made many a cacophonous disaster back in the day. This sounds pretty fun! I bought one of those game making programs that lets you control all of the variables without having to know any kind of coding (which I absolutely do not). It was a kick drawing up dorky sprites and making them do stuff, then forcing my buddies to play my crap. I assume it requires no real programmy knowledge? Or am I misunderstanding?

I also agree completely. I found that the fact that your character doesn't speak made me even more inclined to choose the most "me" response to the various story options I came across. Actually, I think it was one of the best literally "role-playing" experiences I've had in a game, as opposed to walking a character with a pretty established personality through a story. I'm glad you're digging it, Miffy! I had just started that storyline for my second playthrough. It's pretty intense! Of course, the place where responding naturally totally fell down was when it came to interactions with my party members. I'd go bananas and redo dialogue trees all the time if I ended up losing affection points. I'm such an approval junkie.

I very rarely play online games, particularly those with voice chat, or whatever, but I agree. It's really stupid, and annoying. I really hope I'm not giving more credit than is due, but I really believe there's no sincerity to their idiotic racial slurs. I suspect they're just displaying their gonads to the world, in case you missed how obviously tough and manly they are. You know. Although, is it really any worse now than it's ever been? That's just an internetty "thing". Maybe voice chat just makes it that much more in your face.

Nice. I love "stupid guy attempts equally stupid crime stupidly" stories. I also love all stories where someone attempts bribery with pocket money. I met a dude who tried really hard to impress a friend and I by unsuccessfully offering a security guard 20 bucks to let us into a locked hotel pool. That guy was rad.

Ahhh... I get it. Well, that's super clever, but even on it's own, without a relevant inside joke it's a hilarious image.

Hah. Sheesh, RPS. Those evil monkeys. I only played a little bit of the first Penny Arcade game, but it was pretty entertaining.

Did someone answer this already? If so, sorry. I missed the post. If not, here's an educated guess: I asked Dr. Strangepork and he says it's a reference to how many items you can hold in your pack. His example was WoW, where his bag is referred to as an "8 slot bag". Tah-dah. Maybe that's correct. I really love that Wache shirt. Agh. I think I need to own one.

Is this the game that has the hexagonal, uncoverable, world map? I think I saw a review of it that said it was pretty tough. I was considering it, but thought that getting my butt repeatedly handed to me in battles might get more frustrating than it is fun. Also, I wasn't convinced that the battle system would make up for the reportedly horrid storyline and character interactions. Any further opinions if you've played more?

A wise and inadvertently kind choice. Help them help themselves not waste their moneys being wierd. These capitalists, taking advantage of poor nerd's social dysfunctionality like that. For shame. Plus, they'll be staring at you the whole time... right? Creepy.

Ugh... I'm not sure why I'm even asking but... What's the deal with this stupid thing? Do they hire girls to play games with sad, socially-awkward dudes in a sex-hotline kind of way or is it more like a dating(ish) site? 40 bucks an hour for this thing, eh? Wow. Seriously, as mentioned previously lots of women play big-kid games of their own free will, even when they aren't getting paid. Oh, and I don't buy that their site's down due to the 500 billion hits they just got, or whatever. Marketing scheme. I swear it. Agh.. Silliness.

That is a serious work of photoshop magic. It is fabulous. I sat down for hours this weekend trying to finally finish the first BioShock, and managed to just make it past all of the references that were thrown around on the podcast when I listened to it this afternoon. Hooray! I narrowly avoided spoilers on a three-year-old game.

Hey, everyone! I know that GDC ends today, but some of us are planning to meet up tomorrow evening at a bar called Vertigo on Polk Street, which has Rock Band competitions on Sunday nights. It seems like a good place for mingling and Rock Band goodness, so I thought I'd see if any additional conference goers and fellow locals would like to get a chance to go out, play a few rounds and meet some friendly digits before you leave town or go home, respectively. We'll probably show up around 8, when the game technically starts, but you can play until 11 at least, so you can trickle in as you see fit. Sorry for the short notice, and I hope some of you might join us!
