  1. It's just annoying because seeing the games coming out for PC, I'm falling out of love with my 360.

i'm in the same boat, i've barely played my 360 in months. forza 4 will change that and i'll get BF3 for 360 to play with friends, but it's looking like a pc/ps3 year for single player games

  2. Reggie's boring and Cammie is gone, so hopefully we get a good dose of Iwata acting like some kind of digital wizard, going on like video games are magic

and maybe some of this for chuckles:

    WiiMusic.gif

as for microsoft and sony... well they can't be any worse than last year's...

  3. I'm bored out of my fucking mind having finished university seemingly a month before all my incredibly busy friends and having failed to find anything productive to do with myself until at least August. So I'll be up all night watching streams and mashing bullshit in IRC channels like it's 2005.

yeah if youtube is streaming coverage again this year, i'll undoubtedly have a tab open with it running because I don't have anything better to do either. at least for the keynote presentations

  4. eurogamer spoke highly of it and i have to agree. of the 10-12 missions i've played through, there's been good variety and some interesting level design. plus if you fail, the stage gets re-rolled (sometimes it's just the starting locations), so it stays kind of interesting. it's really quite good!

oh also it seems to be less buggy in windowed mode for some reason, in case you're having issues

  5. i just copy pasted that from the Steam forums so don't get pissy with me :fart:

map creation itself is crazy easy and fun but actually creating scenarios is a little puzzling. i hope they (or someone) makes a slightly more friendly editor. in theory they'd only have to mess with the UI to make it less complicated

i wouldn't mind being able to import those maps into skirmish, unless there already is a way and i'm dumb/blind

  6. as an old-school rainbow 6 fan, this game is a dream come true.

my only minor disappointment is that the skirmish editor is a little bare-bones. i'd like to see a "scenario creator." where maybe you could set up your own escort mission or defense mission or whatever. a lot of those are available in the campaign and you can randomize them but being able to make them from scratch would be awesome.

  7. With X-COM too, it seems the new vogue is for taking classic strategy game IPs and making slightly lacklustre FPS games out of them that miss the point.

X-COM as a brand was tarnished years ago with the crap that came out after TFTD bearing its name.

X-COM is a weird thing to "reboot" because the only people who are going to have name recognition with it are likely the ones who would want another X-COM strategy game. slapping its name on a barely related FPS is a really puzzling move.

And I guess that applies to Syndicate too, except that actually had console spinoffs way back when. i also agree though that Syndicate without disposable units isn't really Syndicate?

I can't wait for Shadowrun Kart Racers

  8. the best part about that patch is if you have the GOG version the patch is something like 9mb. for what it's worth, it didn't do jack dick towards improving performance for me.

maybe they can just patch me a new computer

  9. I don't know why I got such a kick out of this, but I love how the characters don't hold doors open for each other. After I saved Zoltan and Dandelion, I stood back and watched in amusement as they, accompanied by Triss and Vernon Roche, filed one by one into the tavern each slamming the door in the other's face. How rude.

there's also some genuinely poor design behind the doors too. anytime there's an enemy on the other side of a door or ladder, you're hopelessly stuck because it won't let you activate them in combat. it happened a lot and i got really mad at it

  10. yeah iorveth makes several LOTR jokes. one was funny. after that it was a little concerning...

oh yeah, and the random Kierkegaard reference which i thought was even weirder

  11. honestly witcher 2 is a prettier version of TW1 with sort of different combat. if you're a fan of the first one-for any reason- you'll like this one.

the reviews that say it ends abruptly are dead on though, unfortunately

it's awesome, awesome, awesome... and then it just stops.
