1.7 is out edit: 1.7.1 is out
  2. Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

it's gonna be pretty sweet. he said the "API" is literally the source code, so that's interesting. with a userbase this big it shouldn't take long for things to get interesting

100% behind this there's also no real reason for people to not stake out remote locations now anyway, between working rails and nether gates also to this extent i'd like to reconsider the idea of creating the train station underneath spawn. you can carry the track out for a ways underground and then have it come up above ground at the outskirts of spawn (like DC's metro does once you leave the city)

they're easy. the only real hard part is keeping all the wiring straight.

  6. E3 2K11

Majora's Mask was hard? i think i last played it like 12 years ago so obviously i don't remember it so well but i definitely beat it, and beat it thoroughly, doing all the optional/side stuff also I don't see a rerelease happening. I know nintendo love to make money on old games, but they've neglected that game pretty hardcore since its release. i'd love to see an HD remake of Wind Waker
  7. Far Cry 3

this board has the creepiest adbots i've ever seen.
  8. Far Cry 3

as much as i liked all the "game hates you" aspects of FC2 i'm not entirely sure i'd want to see it in a new game. there was fast travel in 2, just hopefully it's not "use anywhere" in this one. Malaria was kind of funny every once in a while, but I don't need to see it revisited. they say there's more stealth opportunities instead of everything aggro'ing on you all the time- that's good. no weapon degradation: i could go either way honestly. jamming every once in a while is one thing, but having to straight up replace your guns every half hour or so was kind of a pain. they won't do it, but if they made it so you have to clean the guns every once in a while or they jam, that would be cool. obviously it's way too early to tell, but it could still be a good game for FC2 fans. maybe.

  10. Mass Effect 3

yeah. I guess what I'm saying is that there's very few companies who I implicitly trust to make great games, and Bioware used to be one of them. unfortunately now I'm approaching each new game of theirs with increased caution. at least I still have the TES/Fallout teams from Bethesda to have unwavering faith in. for now...
  11. V The Elder Scrolls

yeah exactly. I played it legit the first couple of times, then I decided to see just how far I could abuse the game. it's fun in its own special way. I mean ideally Skyrim will work as intended and this kind of thing won't happen but... whatever.
  12. Mass Effect 3

I don't. I want ME3 and TOR to be amazing, I really do, but everything from the dumbing down of ME2, lackluster ME2 dlc, DA2, to the terrible promotional materials for ME3 are not filling me with confidence. ME2 did a lot of things right but in the process removed the best features of ME1, which I don't see making a return. Classic Bioware games always had a large hub first area like the Citadel in ME1 or the planet that begins with T in Kotor. You spend time in a familiar setting, meeting people, doing missions, learning about the game world. ME2 just shuffled you off from place to place to place and few, if any, of them were memorable. The combat was fun. The character interaction was good (even if the new characters weren't as good as the ones from ME1). The plot and narrative weren't as good. Every piece of promotional material so far has seemed to hint that you'll constantly be dashing around doing chains of crazy things and to me, that's the least appealing part of a Bioware game. Maybe I'll be wrong and there will be lots of character-driven drama compared to combat. Hopefully.
  13. V The Elder Scrolls

yeah i'm currently on my 4th playthrough of Oblivion and i've learned to abuse the system so much that i'm nearly done with all of the guild quests and I'm only level 1. i have equipment that i've crafted (thanks Frostcrag Spire) that gives me 120% invisibility. I have 100 stealth and 100 marksman. I have roughly 500,000 gold from stealing every food item I find, making a potion, and selling it off. I've used a few console commands but almost entirely for teleportation/fast travel because I'm tired of walking everywhere in that game, and I'm invincible at this point anyway.

i fixed an error in your data
  16. E3 2K11

it's supposed to launch with Mario, but if it doesn't i guess i'm a dead man since i live within 3 miles of an ABC store, a Total Wine, 4 convenience stores, 2 grocery stores, and several gas stations edit: and a Costco. oh dear
  17. E3 2K11

yeah goldeneye's real innovation wasn't "revolutionizing first person shooters" or anything, it was that it let you make totally absurd gametypes like slappers/proximity mines only and play it with 3 of your best friends in the same room. i played quake quite a bit around the same time and both were great fun but for totally different reasons. when you're dicking around with friends for fun and not competition, you can go wild and play with silly rules. it was maybe the single best party (video) game of the 90s.
  18. Sony Shitshow

i snagged Infamous and that zombie game, but I beat Infamous as a rental way back when. I would have been way more stoked with a ps1 game or two. give me Final Fantasy Tactics or MGS or Twisted Metal 2 or something. it's not like it would cost them anything
  19. The Witcher 2

yeah those were various pre-order bonuses and such. basically they just unlocked all of it for everyone (which was cute because i found myself out in a field, overburdened, upon loading).
  20. XCOM returns

i'm going to have to agree with this. the crossover between people who are buying FPS games in 2011 and those who fondly remember the original X-COM certainly can't be enough to justify a AAA title alone. and thinking about it, what format could they even make a AAA X-COM game in and stay relatively true to the original, and still sell copies? As a multi-platform game, it's certainly not going to be strategy. Or even turn based, honestly. kind of depressing actually.
  21. E3 2K11

i've never played the ZoE games, but i've been geeking out about the MGS news for half an hour now. way too cool
  22. EA throws its support behind Good Old Games

no System Shock or Syndicate still, nice score. does EA own the rights to all the Wing Commander games? I'd be stoked to see WC3 show up
