  3. The Stanley Parable

make sure to read the director's commentary after you play through a few times.
  4. Fourza Motorsport

Okay, so i've hit level 50, I got the garage achievement. I'm ready.
  5. Idle Forums Game Club - Killer 7 edition

Yeah I got my used copy for $8, and I don't think it'd ever been played. the discs are spotless and there isn't a crease or bend on the manual.
  6. Collector's/Special Editions

for the most part I don't care about collector's editions because I don't need extra crap to clutter up my apartment. That said, the fact that the Dark Souls limited edition (art book, strategy guide, soundtrack, dvd I think) is the same price as the standard is friggin AMAZING. I'm all over that.
  7. Fourza Motorsport

ohhhh ok, that's way more manageable, thank god. in that case i'm like two cars away from the achievement. you could probably get them in less time if you abuse the High Speed Ring money "exploit," but even that would be grueling.
  8. Fourza Motorsport

oh is that all? i think i'm like level 42 but there's several $1m+ cars i don't own and i certainly don't have the cash to buy them right now
  9. Fourza Motorsport

that's awesome. I'm totally in love with the lighting engine in that game. have there been any more details about what content can be imported from FM3? because i'm totally willing to grind to expand my garage in the meantime. I'm really excited for the Top Gear content, I think that was a very, very smart move on their part. They've said for a long time that their dream with the Forza games is to try to turn people with a passing interest in cars into full-blown gearheads and Top Gear has been doing that in its own way. a buddy of mine with no interest in cars and a passing interest in video games is going to pick up 4 due to the TG integration.

i pulled a tendon in my wrist about a week and a half ago so I've fallen behind SOON

shift+click puts an item directly into inventory. if you do end up with an item attached to your cursor though, you can either drag it onto your character, or his portrait at the bottom of the screen to quickly drop it into the inventory. i also found that turning on the option for "movement keys also attack and open doors" make the movement a little less tedious. you can also turn on auto-loot and set up filters (so you can have him only pick up food items or arrows or any combination) to make things less click happy. it's still a little clunky control-wise, and the microscopic menus are annoying, but those things help somewhat.
  12. Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

well in that case, 1.8 better hurry the hell up
  13. Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

i think that's going to be the point of the next world, if the server survives that long. once the adventure stuff is added and there's theoretically value to rare materials, then i assume that would be shut off.

puzzling, isn't it? I'm in, although I'm sure I'll be on at times non-conducive to playing with europeans.

I think it might say something about me that I don't really spend too much time speculating on some things. I do this with movies too, I'll make mental notes on things like the door noises, etc, but don't spend any time really mulling it over. If however when the movie or game ends, those things aren't resolved, that's when I start piecing things together. I studied literature and film in school and that might have something to do with the way I approach narratives. I don't know. I feel like it might bite me in this game though since normal narrative structure has gone right out the window
  17. Idle Forums Game Club - Killer 7 edition

I think the maid looking lady that saves your game is different from the girl in short shorts that seems to be a babysitter for Harlan when he's using his personas. If you notice, she only shows up in the rooms you can't save in. totally wild speculation on my part though because I wasn't paying too much attention. I think KAEDE would be more useful if the aim actually worked the way you'd think it should. even when zoomed in you have to aim lower than you think you do, and even then it's inconsistent. which is why I use Dan, because if I then panic I can take them out really quickly
  18. Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

regrettable/ understandable/ I'm part of the problem maybe if the adventure update is interesting enough we might consider tossing a couple of bucks into resurrecting it.
  19. Idle Forums Game Club - Killer 7 edition

Well it's officially Sunday in my part of the world, so the next chapter: first, a question. Am I missing anything if I skip talking to Iwazaru? second, I didn't even try to grind for blood on this level and i ended up with several hundred more units than i could use. third, I don't know how i feel about that boss. maybe not as clever or fun as they suspected, but still kind of funny. fourth, I'm taking a shining to Dan. he might be the Mario of the group but he's useful in just about any situation and fifth, saying that this game is weird is like saying water is wet, but it still manages to be weirder than I expect. I like that
  20. Wherein half-remembered games are identified

there were computer knockoffs of just about everything. i remember playing some absolutely horrible 286 versions of mario and contra and whatever else.

CHOPPER COMMANDO http://www.classicdosgames.com/online/chopper256.html you can even play it in your browser
  22. Idle Forums Game Club - Killer 7 edition

okay I got through the first chapter and I'm loving this. I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said except that I like KAEDE the most so far. once you put some points into her she's pretty unstoppable. at this point anyway. One neat thing that nobody mentioned was the blood message on the wall. "HOW SOON IS NOW" _U5HpeA_WSo by... the Smiths. I thought that was a neat touch.
  23. Idle Forums Game Club - Killer 7 edition

sorry about that, i ended up being away from home for most of the week and didn't have a chance to play it. i should be up to speed for part 2.
  24. Wherein half-remembered games are identified

this one isn't half-remembered, i remember it quite clear. BUT, i don't know the name and would like to see it again. it was this old dos game that was basically a Choplifter clone. it was 4 colors i think. anyway the thing was crazy because it both had physics and terrain deformation, but was little more than a helicopter and some stick figures. come to think of it, it might have been two colors, red on black?
  25. Retro Game Challenge

even if they only show a handful of episodes that's still awesome. it was hard as shit to find copies online before. that said, i disagree with the "western games only" sentiment. i'd be very surprised if they didn't show the Takeshi No Chosenjo episode because it's hilarious, even if you've never played it or heard of it. And I mean, how many people are familiar enough with Bonanza Bros or Solomon's Key to care about the games themselves?
