yeah even if you /sethome at the bottom of a mine, you still have to worry about not getting killed by whatever mobs there might be down there.

for the record, i am totally in favor of still having a /spawn command. most dungeon crawlers have return spells or town portals or whatever that don't break the game. all other shortcuts and mod trickery i can go either way on.

I say if we can arrange 3-4+ people and herr tabacco is available, we do it this afternoon/tonight. all we really need is people to be around for (possibly) a few rolls to do some cursory exploration and find an interesting world. and hopefully all that should take is an area with some water, mountains, and dirt (not sand) everything else can happen at its own pace

oh i certainly hope so. otherwise i'd feel terrible that said, it does seem like progress has slowed a lot except for the train stuff, which by the way is amazing and works really well now. that should be really useful if we're going to have to mine a lot, provided we find a way to keep the tracks clean of critters. whichever one of you mad scientists built the launch mechanisms has my full respect. sorry, i'm kind of amped on this. i kind of hope we don't have to wait until saturday?

as mentioned before, i'm unemployed again now so i'm in lock-down money saving mode. that and it's too cold and windy out to do anything. i'm free at any time. as far as i'm concerned, the sooner the better

it's all about the jacksons baby so it looks like "throw to repair" is gone now so tools will be more of a commodity. fishing works. mining feels "normal" again. good stuff. now hoatzin can mess around with his train stuff and hopefully we can re-roll a server sometime soon. thanks!

So let's do this thing. First points of business would be food and shelter, then mining then transportation. I have absolutely no problem focusing on exploration and resource gathering, while smarter people build things

eh, as mentioned before we could always just move the spawn to some faraway place (provided it doesn't overburden the server if the map is too big) i just want to play proper survival multiplayer minecraft. set up monster traps and farms for food. actual material rarity would give a reason to work/play.

he says he fixed the item dupe feature bug so if we wanted to restart, now's as good a time as any. i got laid off again so i'll have some free time starting next week...

Status of SMP Health The few hours I’ve been able to work today, I tried getting SMP Health as complete as possible. It will be released early next week. Here’s the status: * Send attack network data: DONE * Add the ability to attack other entities: DONE * Implement falling damage: NOT STARTED * Implement respawning for dead players: PARTIALLY DONE (there are bugs with the player keeping the current location in some circumstances instead ) * Make eating food regenerate health: DONE * Send health updates to the players: DONE The “attack entities” code is done on a general level, so you can hurt animals, monsters, boats, carts and even other players. There are a couple of other tweaks in the next update as well: * Fix leaves. Again: DONE * Optimize the lighting update slowdowns: STARTED * Make players riding carts or boats a long way receive terrain updates: DONE * Fix the block re-spawning bug: NOT STARTED * Add “pvp” toggle flag to the server settings: NOT STARTED.
