Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

http://www.mediafire.com/?sdu6mdc3cdbm4a9 that's the pack i use. it's basically bits and pieces i've cobbled together from several packs in the past. i think there's one or two textures in there that i made too. mostly it's faithful to the default but easier on the eyes (smoother sand, dirt, stone, cobblestone, etc). it's up to date for 1.5. -
I didn't find Merchant to be laugh-out-loud funny (unlike GLaDOS, who was), but you can't tell me he wasn't perfect for the role. although i'll admit that Merchant is at his best as a sidekick (the Gervais/Merchant/Pilkington podcast especially). dunno

me too. unfortunately Comcast is being a piece of shit right now and i'm getting about 1mb downspeed when i should be getting 20mb. so when it's back up to speed I'll need some friends...

oh man, that is the ONLY time i ever got stuck. what a stupid place for it to happen too. it just wasn't obvious at all what you were supposed to do there, imo.

ahhhh, Electronic Arts...

so according to the bukkit folks we may be waiting for a bit due to them expecting notch to push a few bugfixes through in the next week or so. fortunately none of the 1.5 additions are life altering so sticking with 1.4 until then is just fine. although i have thought of a few things to do with powered rail lines that aren't riding on them, so i guess there's that. -
if you click "new game" you can pick a chapter. unfortunately some of those chapters are long and there's no mid-chapter points to pick.
-
where is that by the way? i completely missed it my first time through.

hmm you're right, according to the wiki. you know what i think i might try is to still use cart boosters, but simplify the booster mechanism. in theory with powered track you should only need a simple loop with one cart with some boosters. unless boost speed is related to the relative stored momentum in the boosting cart? ugh -

that's awesome, you've been talking about that forever. OaxSVwUsf3s new rails. i'm actually pretty excited to play with them, although i'm not sure why. probably go around and retrofit all the old stations and tracks. if nothing else, the launchers should be more reliable. -

it shouldn't make a difference anyway since you can get the executable without buying/logging in/signing up. we have some ladders to fix -
yeah the loading screens surprised me too, especially after playing crysis 2, which iirc had few to none. it's not a dealbreaker at all, and they're short, but it just seems weirdly... archaic?

I was wrong, it's 3 friends. also we're possibly minutes away as Killing Floor, the hardest to finish, is nearly done. edit: it's already done. double edit: it took 10 minutes off

yeah eventually. there's an achievement for hugging four of your friends in co-op apparently. for science

the slightly worrying thing is that some people have had the console versions since last week. I know many sites would have embargoes on that kind of news, but news that massive surely would have made it to people who weren't even actively looking for it by now. that said, i'm glad nothing has been spoiled for me. 99% of the time i care fuckall about spoilers, but for something even tangentially Half Life related, i'd dismember someone who spoiled it for me. unless the PC version has some content that the console versions don't, which could prove interesting.
-
yeah, even considering there's the single player and co-op stuff, 10gb is massive for a Source game.

it should pop up a steam overlay browser window with a glados message. one thing i have noticed (i'm new to audiosurf) is that the menu/browser is extremely buggy. sometimes it loads up the song without the Portal graphics, which gives a different gold medal score, and WILL NOT earn you the potato. anybody know if there's a way to play regular songs in Portal mode?

whoa, is de_dust pretty easy to find? -
the only difference between easy and normal is the number of balls you're allowed to miss, it's the same game. only less stressful.

what possible reason could there be to change that of all things? -
what finally worked for me: make sure you hit every companion cube and DO NOT hit any of the ink blocks until the cubes hit the bottom row and disappear. if you can, try getting only the cubes and the orange blocks. make sure to get a clean finish (no blocks in the "tray") for a huge point boost. if you don't have 80,000+ points by the point it slows down for the first time, you're in trouble. if you get the clean finish, you only need about 130,000 by the end of the level. easiest way to get a clean finish is to snag an ink block (mouse 1) and hold on to it until right at the very end, dropping it and clearing out your tray. don't hit that last block.

i got it last night. it's the <test> song. if you play it on easy (i'd recommend it), you have to get 180,000 points on it. it has to be with the portal graphics, if you beat it with regular audiosurf "themes" it won't count. it's actually pretty hard, it took me like 2 hours to beat it.

yeahhh i think they may have mis-estimated how much work it was going to take to get it done. if i were them i would have aimed for a < 24 hours window. right now we're looking at maybe monday? unless they're trying to breed despair in us and this was all planned?

who knows if this is true or not, but from RPS:
