Two awesome games today! Nicely balanced teams, and close, down-to-the-wire victories both times.

Mages can use regular weapons, but putting points into Strength and Dexterity in order to meet minimum requirements or be decent at using them will mean fewer points for the magic-related stats.

Don't forget loyalties. I also wish that I had more time with Legion. I was actually a bit surprised with the Geth back story.

Yeah, that's it. So you won't be able to play Halo 2 or Halo 2 over XBL any more.

That's why I'm hoping it's a bug. Leaving something like that out on purpose seems nigh impossible.

TRUTH. The game is so obviously revolutionary that you'd have to be a cold, emotionless robot not to immediately fall victim to seizures of orgasmic ecstasy the very moment you hit "New Game." (IGN.com) (Alternately: New Game? More like "You Came!" - IGN.com)

My favorite bug so far: When you light an enemy on fire or lift them high into the air with biotics, sometimes they will scream as they burn/plummet to death. Some other times, however, the fire/fall isn't enough to kill them, and they are stuck constantly screaming until you take care of them. My least favorite bug (which may be more of an oversight than a bug): When your controller becomes disconnected, the game does not pause or freeze itself. I was in the middle of a particularly difficult fight, my controller's batteries died, and Shepard just stopped in the middle of the fray. I was killed while desperately trying to reconnect my controller, a "Please reconnect the controller" message blinking at the bottom of the screen the whole time.

I don't know if any are on Audible, but Harry Harrison's "Stainless Steel Rat" books are pretty fun. They have a humorous, pulpy sci-fi setting that I enjoyed a lot.

Just got done with Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I like the idea of a game changing elements of itself in response you your actions, but because I've only played once so far, I can't really comment on specific elements/changes. One part of the player profiling fell a bit flat, though. Aside from the in-game changes, the profiling is also used during the credits to write up an actual profile of the player. I answered questions during the therapy sessions as close to my actual personality and I played as I would have played any other game of this type, but most of the conclusions the game came to were either wrong or too general for me to really consider valid. In any case, I'm going to play at least once more, this time deliberately trying to affect the outcome.

I don't know if it's valid for the rest of the world, but here in the US, flOw is free on PSN until 9pm PST today. They're doing it in a bit of a weird way, though. It's a separate, non-priced download from the paid one, and it won't count as buying it for your account. This means that it's only good for the PS3 you downloaded it on, and if you delete it, you can't get it back.

I'm pretty excited about it, but I haven't pursued it any further than the few trailers they've released. I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic settings, and it's made more interesting to me because it's a nuclear winter scenario instead of the usual blasted wasteland.

I have to agree that Broken Sword is pretty good, although my criteria may be a bit different from everyone else's. I don't have the patience to play the inventory combination game, so the fewer times I have to check a FAQ, the better I consider the game to be. Add to that the presence of the DS version's in-game FAQ, and I didn't even have to touch the internet in order to complete it.

I'm doing that right now. I started a new soldier and didn't have too many problems until Barriers on Collectors + two of those motherfucking Scions at the same time = an hour stuck at the same spot before I finally said, "Fuck this!" and re-started with a new game + character.
