  1. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I think I got fixated on finding loose treasure & damsels. Plus, as you can see from today's run, I seem to have a 50-50 chance of things going terribly wrong whenever I start throwing shit around. I almost made it to the jungle! Also, is it possible to just fuck yourself by blocking off the exit with a moving block if you don't have bombs?
  2. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

I can never resist an idol, even when it's such an obviously bad idea.
  3. Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

Finally got around to buying this during the midweek sale. I might even get around to recording myself playing terribly! Steam ID: http://steamcommunity.com/id/lordkorax
  4. Davey's made some posts on the Steam boards about how he's been changing the unlock requirements with every patch released. Initially, you had to manually edit keybinds outside the game to allow a key to activate the unlock, because enabling the console and trying commands is something the game has a response for. There's also at least one thing the game keeps track of, and eventually gives an ending for:
  5. The ability to play as Catwoman at all (her story bits, challenge rooms, etc.) is the DLC. It was positioned as the new game purchase incentive, and I suspect Sean was playing on PC, so it probably just downloaded with the rest of the game during the installation.
  6. I wouldn't call the Catwoman choice in Arkham City an ending because after you make the "correct" decision, there's still at least an hour or two of story to play through. They couldn't really do much with it in any case, as it's part of the Catwoman DLC, and the possibility exists (for the console versions, at least) that you might not have it.
  7. Games giveaway

I've got five -10% coupons for Shadow Warrior (the new one) and four -10% coupons for Toki Tori 2. Hit me up on Steam if you want one.
  8. Another group of devs from well-known studios break off to form their own thing? UGH. What are they going to do next, make an awesome game that I will evangelize about to all my friends? Seriously, though, can't wait to see what's coming.
  9. Burnout Paradise online.

I might totally be up for some, too, maybe.
  10. I quite liked the ending of The Last of Us, but had a problem with the last bit of gameplay before it.
  11. Are you sure you weren't just watching Requiem for a Dream?
  12. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

I find it quite amusing that Cliff's wife, of all people, is complaining about unchecking a box for mouse acceleration when I've had to do fiddly .ini tweaks to fix the very same thing on every single Unreal Engine game I've played in the last couple years. My favorite details so far have been the inclusion of Red Dwarf in the television listings, and what I hope is further obscure reference to X-Files in the "Red Right Hand" hair dye. 13. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

BLARGH IT'S UP ON STEAM BUT NO HUMBLE WIDGET YET WHY
  14. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

It all started long ago, when a young Steve Gaynor turned his face to the sky, flashed a gleaming smile, and said - to no-one in particular - "Some day I'm gonna make a sweet ghost game. Maybe one that takes place in a home...:
  15. Non-video games

I've played a few games of Infiltration, but I haven't played Drakbork-bork-bork (sorry), so I have no point of comparison. I think it's pretty fun, and things can get quite manic towards the end of a game when you know that the en-route mercenary force will end the game in two or three turns and you're trying to fuck over everyone else as you escape. It's also on the component-light side of Fantasy Flight games, with a couple small decks of cards and a handful or two of tokens, as opposed to the half hour+ it took me to punch out the the nonsense that came with Arkham Horror or Android.
  16. BioShock Infinite

Oh man, I need to refill my decanter of vitriol. Thanks for the reminder.
  17. Non-video games

Just played a game of Tales of the Arabian Nights. It's a sort of competitive choose-your-own-adventure board game that can be weird and hilarious, though some of the systems in it seem unnecessarily complex at times. One of my friends had an encounter with a talkative barber who kept pursuing him after his haircut was finished, and eventually drove him clothes-tearingly crazy.
  18. R.I.P. Ryan Davis

http://www.giantbomb.com/podcasts/giant-bombcast-07-09-2013/1600-530/ Bombcast's up. They've got the whole crew together, with Jeff, Vinny, Brad, Drew, Alexis, & Matt, with Patrick & Alex on Skype.
  19. Rogue Legacy

Yeah, you can just end up tanking a whole bunch with barbarians and Health upgrades.
  20. R.I.P. Ryan Davis

I've gone back to listen to them from the beginning two or three times, and they hold up really well. I might do it again real soon.
  21. R.I.P. Ryan Davis

When I first saw the headline on GB, I thought it was some sort of announcement of his departure from the site. After a second, I realized what the years meant and was just dumbstruck. It's nice to see how many people on both sides of the industry have come out in remembrance of him.
  22. Rogue Legacy

I want to go for 100% skill/equipment completion, but I've come to the realization that I may have barreled my way through NG+ & NG+2 a bit too quickly. At this point, I can barely survive more than a few rooms in the castle without grace runes active, but they decrease treasure finds, so I haven't been finding any new blueprints. I could probably do a bit of gold grinding and see how higher skills turn out, but it may just be better to delete my progress and start over, because I'd at least feel like I was actually doing something, and I like the game so much that I don't think I'd mind doing so.
  23. Rogue Legacy

I've had a fairly even balance of gay dudes and ladies. As far as anyone can tell, being gay has no gameplay ramifications. A particular character can have 0-2 traits. 2 is definitely most common.
  24. Rogue Legacy

Beat New Game +. Went on a few gold runs to buff character health and then just endured the final boss with a barbarian. Then I started NG++, and this was the first room: I see a lot more use of Grace runes in my future...
