Or some sort of time limit on when you can join a new game after quitting/disconnecting. Preferably one that gets exponentially worse the more constant the quitting. I'd be up for it. I'm currently 28, might be 29 by that time.
  3. One of the first things I do before starting up a new PC game is to check PCGamingWiki for how to skip intro stuff. Also, FUCK YOUR WORMS ARMAGEDDON WORMS 2 IS THE BEST WORMS GAME
  4. Destiny

They do, with the exception of the Queen's Guard. And the Queen's Guard stuff did for the first couple days before it was hotfixed because of reasons. The only thing I've used my Vanguard marks for is buying legendary armor pieces and stripping them down for the Shards to upgrade the gear I'm actually wearing.
  5. I'd say that "aboot" is meant more as a comic hyperbole. There's definitely more emphasis on the "o" part of the word. And it's probably a regional thing, too. Most of my family is from the North Dakota/Minnesota area, and they do a similar thing to the "o" sound in words like "boat." The pronunciation that always sticks out to me is for "sorry." There have been numerous times that I've found out a minor actor in something is Canadian because they say "sore-ee" instead of "sahr-ee."

Bungie needs to fix the inability to properly punish those who quit out of matches. I don't know what it is about the Iron Banner stuff that people seem to be worried about losing, but my team lost 2 or 3 times in a row because we didn't immediately pull into the lead and half the team dropped out. That said, there is nothing about the Iron Banner that makes me want to care about it. The stuff the Banner rep is selling is terrible. I don't care about the emblems, I don't need another armband (especially because I'm in deep with the FWC), there's one piece of armor (that's worse than what I have), and one weapon - a machine gun that may be on par with the one I have, but is nowhere near as upgraded, so meh.
  7. Also (some of the clips used are mildly spoilery, so be warned):
  8. I bought the Blu-Ray set when it came out, but I kept finding excuses to put off rewatching it and then being disappointed in myself for doing so. I'm sure the 'cast will quite obviously be focused on the show, but I'm curious to know if the other "weird things" discussed might include inspired-by stuff like Alan Wake or Deadly Premonition (or even Link's Awakening).
  9. Destiny

I put off the completing 25 strikes step for the Bad Juju, completely forgetting that the next part requires a component from Xur, so now I have to wait until Friday to get any further on that... I did, however, get enough coins to buy the Red Death, and it seems cool so far. I have the Invective up to the point of needing Ascendant Energy, and when I use it (I don't often use shotguns), it's nice. Being able to slam 3-4 shells into a Minotaur before they get their melee attack going is great, and it regenerates ammo, making it useful when missions have the Juggler modifier on. I've been sitting on that one for a couple weeks now. We should do that when you get there.
  10. Somehow I missed In the Name of the King 3, but I can say for certain that Alone in the Dark 2 was only produced by Boll, because, well... Also missing Tekken 2 & Need for Speed. Everything in the left column I've watched recently. Does anyone want to start a terrible movie club? THE ONLY WAY TO QUELL THE SICKNESS IS TO SHARE IT Weird side note: Boll also produced Zombie Massacre (in the right column), which is technically supposed to be a video game adaptation, but the game is currently vaporware, with no real updates on its progress for a good while now. It's apparently a rather rote, low-budget zombie movie.
  11. Destiny

Oh, also, the Queen's Wrath tokens cap at 10, again with extras vanishing into the ether. Because of reasons.
  12. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Every single time I have set caragors loose to wreak havoc, there has been some NPC that every ten or fifteen seconds will, without fail, shout "IT'S A CARAGOR!" just in case someone still wasn't quite sure what's been tearing all their friends to pieces.
  13. I've got my own personal rivalry with an orc in Shadow of Mordor that may turn into a longer story, but I did get a quick, Thumbsy anecdote in the first few hours of playing: I had just finished terrorizing an encampment and was running off to do something else when I got the HUD message that a captain had been defeated. I was a bit confused, as I hadn't actually confronted anyone recently, but then me view zoomed through a bunch of building geometry to show a deathcam shot of the defeated captain, and I saw that he had been killed by a wild animal. It may have been one I freed from its cage during my attack, or it may have been a wild one that wandered into the area, but now that captain was dead, and his spot was soon filled by the resulting power shifts.

IT'S BANANAS I was actually hopping in on another Thumb's farming session (Goodyboy, I think, farming fusion rifle kills for the Pocket Infinity bounty). After a couple tries, we got all the way to the boss, and quickly got our asses handed to us. Which isn't too bad, I suppose, considering it's a level 28 mission, and we were both 27. I quit after another try because we both realized we probably weren't going to get anywhere soon. The biggest issue is the Nightfall modifier, which kicks you out of the mission on a team wipe, rather than back to a checkpoint. I'll help on the weekly strike, if anyone sees me online, and I have around 10 Queen's Wrath tokens, so I'm up for those, too.
  16. Destiny

I'm still sitting on the last step for the handcannon bounty (you should let me know when you get there, Griddle), and got the one for the Bad Juju over the weekend. That one's not hard, just time-consuming, and at some point requires a component from Xur.
  17. Destiny

Word of warning for those saving up for various things: Glimmer caps at 25000, Vanguard & Crucible marks at 200. Any earned in missions/matches beyond that evaporates into the ether, and the wasted marks STILL COUNTS TOWARDS YOUR WEEKLY LIMITS.
  18. Destiny

I also got a Hunter helmet from the engram I bought, but after doing the weekly strike on hard for 6 strange coins, I'm only one coin away from getting that crazy auto rifle he's selling!
  19. Destiny

There's a brief, easy-to-miss message that pops up right before it happens that says something to the effect of "enemy forces are moving against each other," but yeah, no special objective markers or anything like normal public events have. I've leveled a second character to 6 so far, so if anyone wants to play some low-level story co-op, let me know.
  20. Heretic did indeed have an item that turned things into chickens: the Morph Ovum. It worked on minor enemies and other players, if you happened to be deathmatching or something. Hexen had a similar thing called the Porkelator. It was a small gold statue of a pig that turned enemies into pigs. If you're looking for more Doom throwbacks, you should look at In the Kingdom. It's a name-your-own-price proof of concept that the developer is hoping to flesh out into something bigger. http://amon26.itch.io/in-the-kingdom
  21. Destiny

Yeah, it's just an occasional alternate to the normal Warsat event that happens in that area. There's one that happens on Venus, as well.
  22. Steam Curation!

Before this update I kind of broke the recommendations system. Every once in a while i would go through its list a few times, throwing things that looked interesting on my wishlist and setting everything else as "do not recommend." Eventually the list was only ever populated by things that were on my wishlist, often with the melancholy tagline of "Maybe it's time to buy it?" So I started marking all of those as "do not recommend," and eventually my list became barren. Something would pop up every once in a while (usually because I had recently added to my wishlist), but it's been largely empty for some time. Since the update, I've gone through my "Discovery Queue" four or five times, and the only thing I've discovered is that every single game in the queue was "popular right now," and if I want to actually discover something, the ways to do so are buried even deeper than they already were.
  23. Destiny

The planet-based materials aren't too bad to gather. It's easy enough to run around doing patrol missions and scooping them up. The roadblock I've hit is that items require Ascendant Shards/Energy to complete the final few upgrades. Those things are rare drops similar to the Strange Coins. I'm sitting on three or four armor upgrade slots and a couple weapon slots that I have all the other materials for, but can't complete.
  24. Destiny

There has been at least 2 or 3 bounties available over the last week for completing Salvage objectives, and the Salvage mode was only running for the first weekend. Bungie needs a more intelligent way of generating those things. I'm busy tonight, so I won't be on, but if you're still in need of help from Thursday on, let me know.
  25. Destiny

Ugh, I know, right? I can't believe Bungie somehow overlooked a single minor exploit that I can easily ignore and has no real effects on my enjoyment of Destiny. Video games are dead. I'm throwing my consoles in the trash, setting my PC on fire, and running out into the woods to live my life as a naked forest hermit.
