  1. I loved the statue toppling at the end.

Gruff: I tried ele a few times. I'm not going to lie, i mostly just cast Earthquake and giggled to annoy the tank (who is usually dps and pulling aggro from my when i tank on ze druid). Oh, and thunderstorm when i had the chance:P

Earthquake is nice to have. once unleash weapon gets in it will be nice to have a little more intricacy. I'm gonna try it out some more when i can. The main issue is i play hybrids 99% of the time, so i usually get put healing or tanking when i join a random making it hard to get a feel for dps.

Thanks for the druid feedback Forbin, i'll try and scrape together some gear to try it out! I'm finding the same on my holy priest at the moment, there is a lot i can do to keep my party alive, i just have to be smart about it. I've cursed myself a few times for picking the wrong chakra state. I really can't wait untill mana becomes an issue again. The whole triage and "bearly enough healing" game was what i loved about being holy in BC (when priest was my main). I really like the pseudo downranking they introduced with the 3 basic heals on each class. Running a few instances i've rarely found time for Gheal but flash has saved the tank a few times - when 85 comes i really want to feel the punishment of that quadruple mana cost:D

As for the 6s CD on swipe, i couldn't be happier for no more swipe spam:P. Again, i think the changes will shine in new content, but for now its nice to be able to hit other buttons than swipe. I maybe was lucky since i have a warrior tank as well and i knew what it was like to not have your aoe on demand. Its going to be good to mark up, CC and have the dps focus fire again!

Overall i'm really excited about cata. The return to mana meaning something for healers, individual mob control for tanks and focus for dps is looking good. Oh, and hard heroics \o/

edit: re the sound bar, i predict we will be riding around in giant bells.

  2. I'm really enjoying 4.0 as well. I'm really torn as to who will be my main and 1st alt in Cata!

If any of you play druid, shammy or priest as caster or healer i'd love to hear how you are finding the classes. I'm looking at one of those to be my caster/healer alt. They each seem to have some fun stuff going on mechanics-wise. I really like chacra at the moment, it just seems like a great "oh shit there is xxxx type of damage incoming!" button. Disco of course got the wonderful PW: Barrier and the very interesting atonement/smite spec. Shammy seems a little tame compared, but they get spiritwalker at 85 which is pretty. Unfortunatly, my druid is currently feral/feral so i haven't been able to try any caster stuff on him for having zero caster gear. Shadow and ele i've tried but i don't know enough to really know what i'm doing.

As for main i'm torn between by shiny new warrior tank and my current main druid tank. I was blown away by the fun warriors have tanking (never guessed it from the whiners in my guild) with all the shiny buttons. I know druids get all their forms and whatnots, but when sindragosa is hitting you it isn't easy to access all the fun stuff locked away. for DS i really liked kitty before 4.0. ain't tryed it since and not much chance to try a dps warrior spec either so any opinions are welcome.

I'm not really looking for OP toons ever. i asked this same qustion on my guild forums and got back "omg moonkins are pwning dps atm" which made me sad. So, if you have any opintions on what is fun, what is not and where wonderful intricies arise in playstyle with any of these classes and specs i'd love to hear them!

  3. I have another weird request (edited to remove the 4am-ism from the post).

Anyone know any science-fiction where a bunch of explorers descend on a planet or something? Or are trapped in an impossible situation and need to survive?

Anything with astronauts descending to meet some hungry horror, basically, or working together to survive.

Maybe Jem by Fredrick Pohl? Its about 3 teams from different ideologies colonising a planet. There are crab people.

  4. Jungling itself isn't that hard (on Warwick at least), but figuring out when is the best time to gank and dragon and give support in a lane is harder.

For WW i go smite and flash. Buy cloth armour (to build madreds). At the start i wait in the bushes near lizard to make sure i'm not ganked. once everyone on the enemy team is accounted for i start with Lizzard (smite), the small golems, the wraiths, then small wolves, then large golem. after that it should be pretty easy to kill what you want. if the enemy has no jungler, go accross and take their liz and golem when you can. dragon at level 6 after a gank!

  5. Ok, i've uploaded. box.net wouldn't let me upload to the existing folder, so i just made a new one and invited you both.

    here is what should work:

    Download DF_31_08_Phoebus_2_1_3_B.rar

    Download region1-spr-1052 --s-spr-1053A.rar

    Download region1-spr-1052 --s-spr-1053B.rar

    Run DF from DF_31_08_Phoebus_2_1_3_B

    Start a new map.

    Save and exit.

Make a folder region1-spr-1052 --s-spr-1053 in the saves folder

    Add the contends of region1-spr-1052 --s-spr-1053A.rar and region1-spr-1052 --s-spr-1053B.rar

    Play!

sorry i had to split the save. its gone too big to upload in one chunk on box.net:(

  6. At last, that lollygagger has gotten back to his planting. If i had known it was him would take over planning duties while i set up the militia and stills i would have turned around and gone right back to Sealfrenzies.

I regained the reins early after winter and immediately recoiled at the mess i found. Childishly scribbled plans for walls and bridges and who knows whatnot - who would even waste their pack space with such coloured pencils?! An entrance hall of suitable proportions, but lacking even a single such engraving or smooth surface to soothe the eye (mayhaps the planter sees it wise to prance about outside, but not I). To add to the insult, there were still no private rooms built. A year is a trifle long to be sharing with those youngster migrants. Empty bellies and emptier mugs were the order of the day (and not a barrel to be found-am I to let my beer spill on the dirt?).

Still, all is not lost, there is a still a planter head on those planter shoulders. We have several fields of well irrigates soil and a farming rotation set up. 21 new migrants arrived soon after my return to power, no doubt hearing of my ascent and wanting to bask in my glory. Though it will be lean pickings for a while, the workforce will be fed in due course. I moved all the required workshops temporarily outside to allow expansion of the industrial quarter and gave orders for beds, doors and some other furniture.

On the defence front, the lungfish aren’t proving the menace we first assumed, so I’ve left the militia on low alert and begun the building of walls surrounding our holdings. Mr. Planter and I agree on that much at least.

    Summer

The carpenters, masons and still have moved back inside and storage space has been designated. Expansion of the workshop areas and the relocation of industry underground continues. Also, several new bridges and curtain wall are under construction to better aid defence.

I have also begun what I am calling the Dig for Dwarven Dignity. Having procured several extra picks from the human traders I have begun the relocation of living and dining quarters to a lower level. Each dwarf shall have his own bed in a small but sumptuously decorated room, with a newly build kitchen and brewery providing food to the dining hall across the way.

A major disaster was narrowly averted when Elven traders were mistakenly offered wooden objects. Damn tree-huggers. From what I can ascertain, they are married to trees or whatnot. In any case, war was barely averted, and the traders left immediately without further discourse. Next time Jake VG Rodkin tells me he played at trader as a child I shall not believe him.

    Autumn

Autumn saw our first casualty. Zulban Kalbungek went start raving mad and died of “getting locked in a room with no food”. Our newly appointed doctor Atis tells me it is an all too common malady.

However, on the bright side, a second possession of our master gemsmith led to the creation of a Thubinomal Udarmuthir, a sardonyx encrusted sardonyx. I’m not sure how he did it, but it sure is pretty.

Traders from home also appeared and we had a fruitful trading session, providing many masterful rock craft objects in exchange for some sorely needed hospital supplies. The supplies were used to set up a new hospital in the old dormitory.

    Winter

Winter proved uneventful. Construction was completed on rooms for each and every dwarf. Doors for each and every dwarf to follow. I also designed and decorated a sumptuous tomb for myself, as is fitting a past leader (not that I’m dying anytime soon).

Another arftifact was created – Thabumakith Aval Nin – a palm toy boat. An object of such wonderous beauty it is.

My mners have begun to expand the northern level 0 hall to make a barracks. Though the wall outside provides some defence, we are sorely lacking any military presence.

All that remains now is to write instructions for the dwarf who is to follow on his year long leadership stint. It hasn’t been decided quite yet who it is to be, but I’m sure he will do a fine job.

Note: oooooh, I found those colour pencils. I take it back, I love them!

Note: The lungfish aren’t going away and an elephant is being contrary.

  7. World of Warcraft lets you get drunk. Your vision gets blurry, you can't walk straight and if you drink too much you throw up. You even talk badly in chat.

    I think that's pretty good.

also, mobs loose levels so it looks like an easier fight:D
