  1. Moving jobs, moving cities, getting Internet. I guess keeping up to date on the patch notes for the last year will mean my amazing skillz haven't decayed at all.
  2. Civ 5 Brave New World

I need to play it more before commenting, but I came to say that I bought the physical copy of this since it was a tenner cheaper than steam and it came with a huge poster size tech tree and policy tree. Awesome. I had forgotten things like that existed!
  3. Nintendo 3DS

Just make sure your avatar is wearing pants.
  4. Life

I took one a few months back sitting in bed in my underpants. Nice and relaxed.
  5. I Had A Random Thought...

What happened to Peter moledeux? I'm sad he is not cool like he used to be.
  6. I Had A Random Thought...

We only have baggers who sometimes collect for charity. I don't like other people bagging my stuff so I usually shoo them away. 'Shoo' I say.
  7. Nintendo 3DS

I loved the tetrarythm demo, but it's a bit much to pay full price for it. If I find it cheap ill definition get it. Playing through elite beat agents again awaits me!
  8. Nintendo 3DS

Links awakening was my first video game obsession. I'm on dungeon 5 at the moment. I always got so bored by those mario and luigi games, not sure why. Moo. Speaking of this wind fish Tegan. *sniff
  9. Life

Even on the most comfortable if seats, your ass will get so sore. Take plenty of stretch walks. If you are prone to the shits, dose yourself up with Imodium before going. Get some in ear or noise cancelling headphones. The worst thing I find on planes is the background huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum. Don't sit near farty toilets or where the food is being heated. Bring some food if, like me, you find airline food gross. (Or pretend to be Jewish, this Jewish girl beside me once got a kosher meal that looked a thousand times better than my 'I'm pretending to be a vegetarian' meal.) Don't pretend to be a vegetarian. There was salmon.
  10. Life

Handed in my notice today. I'm moving to cork, ancestral homeland of Famous Vanaman I believe, next month to start a new job in a medical devices startup. Eep.
  11. Recently completed video games

Bioshock Infinite. I didn't particularly enjoy. Too much uncanny valley. Too much suicide (including with a baseball bat). I found the arena battles difficult to parse for some reason, but Elizabeth often meant I could just sit and wait for ammo and health to appear. Beyond the setting/atmosphere, Elizabeth and the Letuce family (singular person dlc reveal?) I'm not sure why it got the oodles of praise it did. I understand at the i'm not a triple A audience and I place more emphasis on mechanics than a lot of people, but calling it a flawed gem would give hope to cubic zirconias everywhere, so I shalln't. Also I killed one boss in rogue legacy. Woo.
  12. Scanning line art

Thanks for reminding me busted existed:(
  13. Life

My aunt had a three legged cat ( due to car accident). We rather imaginatively called him tripod. He was weird.
  14. Feminism

    Well said Nachimir.
  15. Plug your shit

Ah dang I'm planning a trip to London but I think it will be after your awesome thing closes:/
  16. Feminism

Gone home dlc will have hugs and chocolate, but only if you find the wacky tea party ghost (via hair brushing mini game)!
  17. I got some manchego last week. It is amazing. Nom. Never could stomach blues I'm afraid. I watched my friend eat Easy Singles this morning while his partner and I wept inside.
  18. Life

I know about the economics and all that, but I do wonder why some couples don't (secretly) get married just for the legal protection if something ever happens. Also, tax breaks.
  19. iOS Gaming

I wish you could speed it up. 75 mins and then a sudden failure:/ I got pixel defenders puzzle. It's rather good and rather addictive.
  20. Life

I did love the coffee shop. Would the people watching help your art (caus peole be crazy) or would you rather be alone with your thoughts on a mindless grind? I left because I wasn't getting enough hours. I'm just musing. I was unemployed for a while and my parents were graciously supporting me, but even though I was being productive (job hunting, learning programs, picking up odd jobs) the sheer psychological pressure of knowing that I was leeching off them was horrible to me.
  21. Life

Your girlfriend sounds the best. I'd kickstarter a ring for her. In exchange for a cool comic. Sounds trite, but maybe working part time would give you some cash and a breather from enforced creativity (even with the full support if your gf, I'm reading that you would still feel that pressure to produce), leaving your off time to get down to what you do best in a more relaxed mental state. I kinda miss working at that second cup those many years ago.
  22. Earthsea

I'm a huge fan of Le Guin. I have the earth sea quarter ready to reread at the moment. The 4th book is very odd, but eminently worth a read. The story is unlike any book I've read before. The dispossessed is in my top three books ever. I like it more than the acclaimed Left hand of darkness.
  23. Non-video games

I miss my board game nights, but everyone lives in different cities now:/ every time I see a doctor otker pizza I remember the old times dropping pizza onto carcassone. Edit: Puerto Rico and San juan are fixtures on my ipad. They are both so good.
  24. Dreams!

Not only that, they end on cliff hangers!
  25. BioShock Infinite

I started this and I'm not really enjoying it. Why is the hook so horrifically gruesome? Why do my magic powers make people kill themselves? My overriding impression is that I'm a maniac ripping out racists's necks, forcing them to suicide, stealing the oranges and lemonade from their cooling bodies and then snaffling said snacks with their corpse as a picnic table. Also, it's so very sunny. I'm going to play some more to see Columbia, but I'm an hour in and I can't see myself finishing it. Maybe Elizabeth will change things.
