Idle Thumbs 159: Wilson's Ghoulish Countenance
dibs replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
It's iconoclast, he is breaking the mold for triple-A gaming. -
I've always of the opinion that I am fucking awesome, but never of the opinion that anyone has to agree with me.

Ok, Murdoc, Dewar, anyone else, PM me a dwarf name that shall be you. I'll do the 1st year.

On the controller you can hold the attack button to aim during turn, it really helps, but the tooptip only popped up when i was doing one of the challenges.

Are you the toilet bowl, and this scenario is the gigantic poo that is blocking your pipes?
-
It can't be that hard, you just do a find replace on Dx10 with Dx9. Lazy devs imo.

Take it to the plug your shit thread guys.

Dash into them and then start your Turn(), that way you don't waste the start of it moving.

Just use the dah vanilla, you can use it when recharging. I'm finding it tough too. There is a lot to read on the abilities pages. I'm not too bad there as i'm used to that sort of shite, but for someone who is more used to just hitting things there is a whole lot going on. I've been doing Turn(), run/dash behind, combo start (A), then B to get combo + backstab bonus. pewpew.

Anyone remotely space geeky should check out this Elite Dangerous alpha video :D!
dibs replied to Dr Wookie's topic in Video Gaming
No, it was pre 2000. I've been looking at wikipedian since trying to find it. I know it is pre 2000, as i borrowed it off a guy in secondary school. It looks very like Star Trek: Bridge Commander, but set around the original series time i think. It deffo didn't have picard in it, and the graphics weren't as swish as that one. -

BigJerKO affiliated with space-puritans. Wasn't there a Star Trek game where you controlled everything from the bridge? I played the hell out of that. It was on a million CDs if i recall correctly. -

Don't anyone worry about skill level. Half the fun of DF is the inevitable 'fun' that leads to your demise. If you go 2nd or 3rd, the 1st lord should have the basics up and running so you needent worry too much and can concentrate on building a fortune for the next poor sod to defend.

Who is up for it then? Dibs Murdoc (Maybe) Twig (Maybe) Voyeurs: Reyman I don't mind starting. We can continue to rotate if we survive 1 year each.

Oh man, Godzilla was so bad. I loved it.

Guys, its just the pause mechanic.

I've not played since then and managed to pick it back up in around 2 hours. Like falling off a bike.

My latest contract had a clause that said I wasn't allowed to work for anyone else (on my own time) while working here. I challenged it and it turned out to be bad wording and was withdrawn and replaced with just not allowed to work for competitors while working here (perfectly reasonable). Just be careful with items like that, don't sign a contract you are uncomfortable with. I've been told (word of mouth from non experts, also Ireland) that even though a contract cannot invalidate your law given workers rights, that the signing of a contract where you do "invalidate" those rights can be brought up as mitigating circumstances if things ever go wrong. At a previous place of work, nearly everyone was on contracts that signed away their rights to a maximum 48 hour working week. I wasn't. They worked 60 hours+ a week. I worked 39. Edit: Yes, i meant what juv3nal said, but also opportunity to work 2nd jobs/consulting etc.

Make sure they don't try to get you to sign any of your rights away. Make sure they don't try to own any code you create when in their employ (like at weekends at home on your own projects). Make sure the exclusivity clause isn't crushing.

Fake it till you make it baby. You were at a conference, like an academic one? The process of getting my PhD burned all such thoughts out of me. I no longer get very nervous about things, and I take the position that everyone else is just as big a faker as me, but that maybe i'm not such a big fake after all.
