  1. DOTA 2

I went back to play a few games of LoL today and felt oddly constrained by the mechanics. I was assuming that the lesser mana issues, more active spells and passives would make the LoL heroes more fun to play, but i just didn't enjoy it as much as Dota. Might be just that dota2 is shiny and new.
  2. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Awesome. The very series that most tempted me to get a ps3.
  3. Legend of Grimrock

RPS have their Wot I Think up. Whoop, I've just got Dragon Age in the post, but i'm thinking this may overshadow it The even mentioned that the combat and puzzles are nice and tough.
  4. Your first gaming device...

Unreal tourny. I didn't know why everyone was jerking around so much, and quickly went back to playing single player.
  5. Your first gaming device...

    Vintage hardware boner?
  6. Your first gaming device...

My very own 1st gaming device was a Gameboy as well:) I got it from lost property where my aunt worked. I'd like to think now that nobody ever tried to find it again, but you never know...I got quite a few games with it, including my beloved Mario and the 6 golden coins. I hope karma just gave around 9 of my DS games to a needy kid after i left them on a flight a while back. I used to play picross for hours on it, huddled up in bed. A few years ago my mum got addiced to picross on her DS. Like mother like son^^

We had a spectrum 48k. My main memories are playing Cookie and double dragon on the squishy keys and watching my brother type programmes from magazines. He says we had a pong machine before that, but I don't remember it. Then we upgraded to a 386 and an Amiga 500. I had rick dangerous as well toblix, but the 1st one. for a long time my favourite game on the 386 was a shipping simulator. BigJKO was it Grandma's Garden? I used to play it in my friends house before school.
  8. Draw Something

also, draw terrible terrible tigers. i also had already spent my 79 cent on it.
  9. And I completly forgot about this and invited peeps for dinner. Grrr.
  10. Draw Something

Sting has blond hair. Ima download too see what it's about.
  11. I got the steam verions, should i have got the standalone?
  12. DOTA 2

Just for reference, when i select the donkey i usually end up shaking my mouse for around 15s trying to get him to detach somehow. i am chronically terrible at controlling more than one character. i will not be getting the necrominicon any time soon:P
  13. DOTA 2

Still loosing, but sucking less. I'm amazed that Patters is able to play Imvoker without having a meltdown. I tried Lone Druid last night. I should have realised that i was going to suck having to control 2 units. Really liking it. the community is far less poisonous than i had feared. In fact, even thouhg i've completly ruined a few games i've bearly had a peep shouted at me. I'm still having issue with the interface at times, but i'll get over it.
  14. Legend of Grimrock

Cool, i'll get it from the dev's then. Valve have seen enouhg of my monies:) I've just realised these are the guys who were collecting all the karama recently for making the UI more accessable to disabled gamers.
  15. Legend of Grimrock

Looks sweet. I was a little late to the party so i never got to play these games back in the day. I was a huge fan of Wizardry 8, and the promise of highly tactical combat gets me all aquiver. Since buying it direct will get a Steam key, do the developers loose any/much income if i just bought it straight from Steam?
  16. iOS Gaming

This will pop a few boners (or just get ye all emotional like me): the Baldur's Gate revamp is being developed for the ipad. http://www.baldursgate.com/news/language/en/ I've been playing Battleheart on the pad. Its a little arena 4 man team rpg. Lots of fun. It is very simple, but the battle can get quite frantic and there is several different classes to choose from to make your own team. Puzzle Quest 2 seems to be a nice port as well, i'm enjoying it. The Carcasonne app looks amazing on the pad as well. Has anyone played avadon: the dark fortress on the pad? I've played the PC demo, but i'm always worried about how the controls will map to a touchscreen.
  17. Oh noes, i chose the BBQ! Hope ye had a good pewpew.Have ye any more planned? Mmmm, steak.
  18. DOTA 2

Each starts a new stun. If you both stun at the same time then one is wasted.
  19. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

If anyone is interested, the game is 4 euro on steam today! The DLC packs are 75 cent each too:) Well worth the money. I've played through the single player campaign now and it was delicious fun.
  20. Cool! I had assumed that arma was a standard fps and I've spent enough cash on games lately, but happy days that I read the post might be at a BBQ this sunday (rare sunny day in Ireland) but i'll join if I can.
  21. Wait, this thing is free and co-op? Did you rent the server? What time were you thinking on sunday? questions?
  22. DOTA 2

It's off, he doesn't run to the creeps any more. Every so often he seems to make a beeline for champs though. Maye I'm imagining things.
  23. DOTA 2

Two resounding victories on lich, one horrible defeat. I've even figured out the courier system:) I'm well up for a game tomorrow night if anyone is playing. I've worked out a lot of my issues with the interface. I think I can do some console tweaks to show my range finder more consistently and hopefully turn off the way your champ walks towards enemy champs if left without order>< What is it about the lol shop that gets to you guys? I find it grand and very amenable to browsing for what you need. I still have issue figuring out what I am getting in the dota shop. Some items enter the stash as items, some as recipes. Some items auto buy when you reach the shop, others stay in the stash...
  24. DOTA 2

Ya, i got caught in a lot of stun lock bot combos, or earth shaker + Lina a few times. It was very discouraging. When i (accidentally) went up against the humans i was able to read them a lot better. I'd only recommend the easy bots to people for a few games and only then to learn the control scheme and how to manage mana and their chosen toon's skills. It also helped that when i told the peeps on my team it was my 1st game they told me when to stay and when to go. There seems to be a lot more wandering around in the jungle in this game. I like the ganking dynamic, there is more options for where to come from and where you can suddenly be countered from. That said, i got a kill under my tower despite them shouting to run. A LoL tower would have taken that guy out much quicker^^ Having read a few guides etc. i was much better able to handle the interface tonight. Understanding stuff like that you can command other units RTS style, knowing how to manage my mana and learning to deny creeps really helped. I also turned off the auto attack option which helped a lot. At times i found my toon to be somewhat unresponsive. Perhaps it was lag.
  25. DOTA 2

Whoop 7/3/10 on lich in a real persons game. I was 4/2/6 when they started DCing. As was pointed out, real people are a lot less scary than bots!
