You're all going about this wrong. "DS" stands for dual screens, right? So a 3DS must obviously have 6 screens. You'll wrap it around your head, thus creating the 3D effect.

Oh yeah, and you need a turret sequence.

I know neither Jack nor Shit about making a game, but I know one thing that goes for every passionate personal project: Don't be afraid to ask for help! Realize you are not a super-computer that can do everything perfectly all the time, so ask those around you for how to improve things (though I bet you already know this, since you posted this here), or even ask for help to create things directly. For example, if you're primarily a coder guy, and don't feel confident with stuff like making title/icon graphics, or with audio design, ask someone to make it for you. For example, we have a fine selection of Dudes right here on the forum with all kinds of skillsets, with the thing in common that they all love video games, and are not douchebags. ^^

I'm up in Norway, so I wont be either at this one, the PAX east meet, or most other meet-ups. However, I'm posting for one important reason. I propose we from now on call all future Idle Thumbs Meet-Ups... "Thumbs Up". ...Carry on. <.<

Major Bump! (that sounds like a character from a military comedy) I've gotten in to the beta! =D *dodges thrown fruit* I'm loving it so far, even though it's the first time I've dared to delve into the world of online RTS-playing. My full thoughts are here. (sorry about the shame-less blog link, but it's pretty long.) Anyone else in the beta? Thoughts? Match-ups? Forming of 2v2 teams? I agree with what you guys have all been saying. While the games' flaws are apparent, like the clunky traversal mechanic, I still found it to be a great experience overall. The style and atmosphere was great, down to the point of playing jazz songs whenever you got in a car. As for the stereotypes, they were present, but the studio decided to revel in them, going as over the top as possible. Sean drinks, smokes, curses and says "Top o' the mornen to ye... Or whatever time it is", and even gets angry when someone calls him a Brit. But this, along with all the other stereotypical characters, just adds to the pulpyness feel of the whole game, something I thought they pulled off rather well. At first you'd think that the postponing of the game to such a degree would enable them to work out the bugs and make it smoother, but given that they were shut down halfway through the delay, it is more understandable. If it says anything, I ended up getting every achievement in the game. I just put on a podcast and went around blowing things up.

I'm the kinda guy who picks one game at a time, then try to wrench as much fun as possible out of it, so I haven't played a lot of this years high profile games (I refuse the term "triple A"). So of the titles I did play, Dragon Age definitely came out on top for me. It was so visceral, and appealing and all the other PR buzzwords. Other enjoyable experiences of the year: Shadow Complex, Trine, Left 4 Dead 2 and Brütal Legend (to some extent). Here's a question; What's your GOTYOTD? That's right, its GOTY of the Decade! It's 2009, so what has been your favourite game of the last 10 years? Or does that warrant its own thread? <.<
