Thank you for your insight, Chris! It's nice to have a person around that knows more about the business side of this business than most other people in it. However, I'm very interested in hearing your personal take on the deal. I know everything is up in the air right now, but if you took a trip to Hypothetical Land, where could you see this leading?

Forgot to mention this here, Bungie has said they have no further plans to make Halo games. While that can always change in the future, it seems that after Reach they will have had enough Halo for quite a while. So I guess the franchise will be in the hands of whatever studio 343 finds, if they don't make one from scratch.

Like Chris and Miffy has said, it's only for this particular property, they should be free to produce whatever they will out of other IPs. In addition, Bungie is still the full owner of the IP, so there shouldn't be a situation where they are forced to make more than they want to, hopefully. Many are saying that the 10 year number is oddly long. Many are attributing it to the fact that Bungie loves building universes, then telling several stories from within it, while some are saying that maybe it's some form of MMO or other long-running game. My money is on the former, if only because both Pachter and Bungie themselves are throwing the words "action game" around.

Just saw this on Brad's twitter. You're amazing and horrible, Jon. Was not sure if you were gonna post this here or in the "most disgusting thing I've ever done" thread...

Here's one I think a lot of people will like. It's a story-telling podcast, similar to This American Life, called The Tobolowsky Files. Actor Stephen Tobolowsky tells moving stories from his life, talking about everything from trying to catch venomous snakes at the age of 5-6, to being hopped up on LSD and partying with Hollywood celebrities, to traveling to Paris with his impossible love, and staying at a brothel. You may not recognize his name, but he's one of the "oh, THAT guy!"s. He's been Ned Ryerson in Groundhog Day, Bob in Heroes, Sandy in Glee, Sammy in Memento, and many more. He also tells quite a few stories about working as an actor, so if you're at all interested in the film industry, I would really recommend it. Just about every episode will leave me thinking about and even re-evaluating my outlook on life. They just finished the first "season", with 24 episodes and an FAQ, so now is a good time to jump in and start listening before they start up again. ^^ Note: A few of them hang together, talking about his college girlfriend, so I would recommend starting at the beginning, or if you can't be bothered, start listening when the new season starts.

Just got back from seeing Iron Man 2. I liked it a lot, it had fun set-pieces, balls-to-the-wall action, funny dialouge, and plenty of charm, primarily provided by RDJ. Almost outshining him was Rockwell, though, who goes all out with his crazy I-think-I'm-loveable-but-actually-I-come-off-as-a-douche persona. Rourke did a competent job as Whiplash, but the role doesn't demand much. The female leads were kinda stiff, but L. Jackson was being L. Jackson to the fullest. There were plenty of nerdy shout-outs, and my even-geekier-than-me friend ended up squealing several times, especially at the after-credit scene. Overall it's not as strong as the first one, but I love that movie a whole lot. If you like Iron Man, you should see this film.

Like we discussed previously in the thread, Giant Bomb is running an Endurance Run (Same concept as Let's Play) on this game. (Actually, they're running two concurrent ones). It's a nice way to check out this weird, weird game without buying it. I know I couldn't play it myself, but it's hilarious to have the GB guys in the background playing this when I fall asleep. ^^

No problem, now please wait 6 months before making your next inquiry.

Man, making spammers post before they can make a thread is kinda fun. Too Cool Oldgold.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 6: Shoveling Your Hat and Crow

Guys I had this weirdest dream, I was dreaming about the big dog, only the sniper from TF2 was riding it. I made a picture to show you what it was like: -
I too am hoping for more bonus content instead of the traditional manual. Because let's be honest, the manuals as of late have been pretty crappy black and white leaflets, so it would be welcome if they included something else cool. Like when you right click TF2 in steam and click View Game Manual. ^^

Oh my god. I am tempted to call "thread over" or something. That... I'm stunned. You could almost say I'm

I had a blast too! (rocket blast? newsblast?) While I prefer weekdays over weekends, pretty much any day is fine with me. ^^

I'm murdering Sleepdance over and over again right now, you could be too!

Did you beat it?[/Jake] [edit]pop-cultural pun not intended, but appreciated in hindsight.

I didn't mean to imply that you missed the point, rather that you didn't get what people found so great about it. ^^ I'm not here to insult anyone's movie intelligence. o/

100 for the west coast is great. The Telltale server is usually at around 250 for me. >_<

80, and this is on a day my ping has been too high to play earlier, possibly on account of roommates. I assume it's a UK server? Wonder how the Americans ping. (Also, if you do this Patters, you will be the Best Guy.)
