  1. I just got some sweet LEDs from Ikea to light up our figure shelves. I'll snap some pictures when everything is set up.
  2. DOTA 2

I have EGM in a league I found through the Giant Bomb channel, and also AdmiralBulldog, so my points are prrrretty good right now.
  3. DOTA 2

So I got my invite exactly 2 minutes too late to be able to join the fantasy league. =/ So if there's anybody ELSE interested in trying this out, hit me up and I'll create my own much better fantasy league. (You can join as many leagues as you want) Pkirkner; Never seen that either, in fact, I've never seen a bot take over an abandoned player before, even in limited draft, so I wonder if this is a new thing they're still ironing out. Don't let it freak you out, I've never encountered a game-breaking bug before, and my impression so far is that bugs that interfere with the game are very rare, it's usually graphical glitches or damage math being calculated slightly wrong. Edit: Just realized that Fantasy league is Lords Managers Management.
  4. DOTA 2

Yeah, didn't buy the ticket yet. I'll fix it when I log onto Dota before the draft, so save me a spot.
  5. DOTA 2

Added you! Am reading the timestamp right that you will start the draft at 22:00, Central Norwegian Time?
  6. DOTA 2

I was gonna ask here if people are interested, sounds like it could be fun. (especially as it's a Swedish tournament, so I can actually watch the matches at a regular time)
  7. I'm currently learning the very basics of Blender. While I can see the utility and relative simplification of the UI compared to other 3D software I have gleaned on, it's very clear that this is software made by and for modelers that were sick of the other software. It assumes you know a lot of terms, or how two things or settings would interact with each other.
  8. Help me pick out a new mouse

I read this article a while ago, and it made me pretty sure that my next mouse will be the the Razer Deathadder.
  9. Titanfall

There's a hardware thread or two in Idle Banter, but can't dig them up right now. As for the "cheap and replacable" route, I've been there, but my keyboard is a Logitech G510 I spent 70$. That was in 7 years ago, and it's still going strong. Recently I've started going that route with more hardware, like my wireless gaming headset. I spent ~99$ on it this year, but I expect it to last years and years, and the quality bump from cheaper headsets is significant.
  10. A Far Cry from Home - Travel Discussion

Only doing this if there's an achievement for it.
  11. A Far Cry from Home - Travel Discussion

Yeah, we're definitely not avoiding avoiding touristy locations alltogether, but we're already reading about those everywhere else. That's why I'm asking like this, I want to know about the cool local pub that has a million beers on tap, the romantic restaurant that isn't crowded/absurdly expensive, the nerd store that has every board game and comic book, etc. Hidden gems, so to speak. As for the weather: Bring it on. I'm originally from way above the arctic circle, and I live in the town in Sweden that has the most rainy days per year.
  12. A Far Cry from Home - Travel Discussion

Bumping this topic because I'm going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks, and I would love the latest tips & tricks for stuff to see there! Bonus points for non-touristy, multiplier for romantic, and zero points for "weed and/or prostitutes".
  13. Baby Animal Gif Emergency Rations

We should either change the thread name or all agree to stop apologizing that the cute picture doesn't fit the exact description.

I feel the opposite way, actually. Whenever he's next to someone he just ends up being the goofball, but some of his solo books go deep on his existential crisis, which, when written well, makes for a way more interesting characters than a lot of straight-laced superheroes. For example, he's very aware that he's a failed experiment attempting to replicate Wolverine, so he's often depicted trying going from mercenary to hero. But as nobody takes him seriously, he then gets frustrated, which results in a (self)destructive rampage. There's also been some story arcs exploring his mental health in interesting ways. So it is possible to make a compelling movie, but will they do that, or will it be "look, he shoots a lot and talks at the camera! Explosions!"?

Sadly, this wont happen anytime soon. Deadpool's rights are tied to X-Men franchise, so he's with Fox as long as they keep making X-Men movies. Ryan Renolds has been trying to get a solo Deadpool movie off the ground, but it keeps getting stuck in development hell. =(
  16. Titanfall

My favourite moment so far was getting the light titan burn card and dropping it immediately at the start of the battle, stomping down and blowing up the entire enemy team. Because of it we took all three capture points and I stayed alive a good 5 minutes until enemy titans started coming online.
  17. Titanfall

You can hack mechs?? I never noticed! I also haven't figured out how to wallhang. We got the dropship to 50% once with a bunch of titans unloading on it.
  18. Titanfall

Actually, I just tried this, and you can. In the city map there's a couple of thight alleyways, and I was able to bounce back and forth Mario-style, getting from the ground to the roof in a couple of seconds.
  19. Feminism

I can't get over the fact that his name is almost Sean Fedora.
  20. Titanfall

After posting I played for another hour, and this time I had a blast! I made a conscious effort to a) use the abilities (cloak) way more, and b ) stick to the rooftops. With this I stopped dying so suddenly, and had a way better view of what was going on and who to kill. It also did help to unlock more mods and custom classes Clyde, the the Core ability seems dependant on the chassis of the Titan, but in the beta there's only one (though I did just get a burn card to call in a different one!). With the Archer, you still do damage if their shield is up, but it's way more effective if it's down. They do a pretty good job showing the enemies shield and life bar in the top right. My favourite tactic is to jump the rooftops along with a friendly titan. That way your friend can take down their shields, and the enemy is usually distracted by the bigger target to notice you're blowing him to pieces.
  21. Titanfall

I'm not having Fun-fun yet, but I keep wanting to play more. What I'm wanting right now is more customization and more survivability, but I suspect both might come when I level up more. Maybe what's missing is communication and/or playing with friends? Origin ID is Hermansl, I think I added everyone here.
  22. The IT Curated Steam Tag List

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the tag has to be in the top for the game to appear in a search for it? So even if the game doesn't have Idle Thumbs among its most popular tags, you could still get it on a list of games relevant to IT?

I just came out of the cinema, and we had the opposite experience. I agree that it was incredibly frantic, but a lot of the little moments hit home with me and a girlfriend, so we were laughing through the whole movie, making the non-relentingness a positive thing. The writers must have grown up on exactly the same things I did, because a lot of the references felt tailor-made for me. Not to mention, every single casting choice felt spot on, especially Will Arnett as Batman. It helped we were the only two people in the whole cinema, of course. Everyone either wants to watch it with their kids in Swedish, is at home watching Eurovision part-finals, or out drinking. We had to see it in 3D, which made some scenes look pretty cool, but I felt I was missing a lot of the background moments because I couldn't focus on them. I'm also very interested how they made the stop-motion aestethic and all, so I'm definitely getting it on bluray when the time comes.
  24. Titanfall

I'm in the same boat as Pony, I had largely dismissed this game because I don't care about COD or console-focused shooter, but the coverage from the last few days have me interested, as it looks like it might have enough variety in the actions to feel more like TF2, where you can use verticality and traversal together with a bigger variety of weapons, instead of "move forward, shoot man".
