I know there's a youtube video thread, but this is something else. 0McQ-cQmUZA REnxd3Xx4Yw There are more, but these are the best. And this kj4WRhG5BW0 "Do you wanna cut the FUCK out of eggs?" "Do you wanna cut through 4 pop bottles at once?" "Are you happy with hunting knives that manage a range of over 10 feet?" Daniel says: we can hunt jaguar Welcome to the NHK says: check it out, a fucking giraffe Daniel says: lets just hope to fuck the sharp bit hits them in the eye, or we're gonna have to leg it Why aren't we all rushing out to buy these majestic weapons? Best one ever, unlinkable Edit: Links potentially not working, embedding wise. Bizarre

I sat down at 6pm with Heavy Rain, and got through it in one sitting, finshing about 5am. It was really good!
-
Well let's compare games I've just played. I just played Heavy Rain, and for all its flaws or whatever in gameplay, the content in the narrative was a very mature style, whereas my other game, Beautiful Katamari is based towards children, just because of its quirky nature and aesthetics. But yeah, I guess I want a mature story as opposed to...not. Actually, I am still playing spelunky daily...
-
I won't be "that guy" intentionally, but we DO have a "Promote yourself" thread or something like that. Mature in games is down to narrative content in my eyes. Blood/gore/drugs/tits are irrelevant for the most part, because I know it's just a game.

Hello gang, I have a stupid and incredibly inane piece of work to finish for university, in which as part of my "Professional business practise", I have to interview someone in the field which I want to get a career in when I finish my course. It won't even be an interview of sorts, it's literally just several questions that will help me out a lot. I can also use it in a small research report about the job I want aswell. If it wasn't already obvious from the title, I want to be a teacher when I finish. If any of you are teachers, in any country, any age group of children (Younger grades are better but everything will be lovely). If anyone knows anyone who can help me by answering a couple of questions, please send me a PM via the forums, or even post in this thread if you choose! Much obliged in advance!
-
The most important questions I'd love to have answered would be : 1) How did you get into the job? 2) What made you want to get into teaching? 3) What do you think are the most positive aspects of the job? 4) And on the contrary, what do you think are some of the more negative? 5) What might you do in a typical working day? 6) What would you advise me to do now, as a student and prospective teacher to maximise my chances? Knowing the country, agegroup of students and where they work/a surname would be lovely, if not only to add an air of legitimacy to my research. Again, if that's too personal, I can just call them John Everyman and Jane Doe. I really appreciate the help regardless, the more research and information I get, the more strong my researc looks. Thanks an absolute bundle !

I'm actively reserving comment until the game is over.

You're not the only one who does work on breaks -
I know what you mean. Me and a friend of mine are trying to find our own place, and it's incredibly frustrating. We can't get in a university owned halls because as a new student, you can "apply" up until August, but if you're a current student, you need to apply by March, which is completely asanine. We wanted a halls placement because bills are a pain in the arse, but what are you gonna do. We're now looking for a privately owned place, of which there are many, so I'm not too worried. Plus the fact there's 2 of us, and we're both third years, so that gives us an air of legitimacy as it were, at least as opposed to some 18 year old from London who wants to get "wasted" every night. I forsee a frustrating week or two ahead, however.

Very long hours, unrewarding and somewhat low paying work, and often forced to play the alpha of polly pocket adventures, the opening 500 times. Not entirely sure what it'll be like in the UK actually, they'll have a much easier time in the US. Also, I think this piece by Steve is pretty good -

I do "Film and media studies" so I basically use it as a platform to talk about anime and games as a valid medium. Which is why all my work is just about games/anime. I did my final piece for 2nd year on the validity of aesthetics in games as an art form, kind of. It was weird, but good.
-
Not indicative of an objective sense of quality, I just watch a lot more anime for my university degree than I do get a chance to do books and TV. Sorry!

This is the best game.
