  1. Office Pranks

Yeah that's really a sweet idea, and you pulled it off very nicely
  2. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

God dammit video games. This kind of shit is embarrassing.
  3. Spam Email

I already deleted it, but I got one very similar to your 3rd post about giving you a ton of money or whatever it is. Not quite the same though, wonder if it was from the same source.
  4. Plug your shit

Most of the web stuff I do is for LFNetwork, I write for a few LucasArts game fansites and designed some as well and admin at Lucasforums. The main one I maintain these days is starwarsmmo.net (did not design though). Probably my favorite writing samples to show though (even though they are from a while ago now) are for Mojo which some of you are probably more familiar with (latest 3 on that page are mine). I also have my blog in my sig but I very rarely update it anymore, mostly stick to twitter.
  5. Fallout 3

Yeah the same thing happened to me. I beat the game in less than 20 hours because I was so into the main quest and thought the same as you, that it would seem weird to just go off doing random quests while I need to be doing this super important thing. But then afterwards I loaded an old save to go back and do a ton of sidequests I missed. Aside from the 4 DLCs I haven't done yet I probably have a ton left still.
  6. Fallout 3

I have only played Anchorage (have the GOTY edition but not gotten around to the others) but fwiw I liked it pretty well, though I guess if I had to buy them individually I would have done all the sidequests in the main game before buying any DLC.
  7. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Any dudes interested in going in on the 4 pack for this? Same as usual Steam 4 packs, $150 for 4 copies. Dunno if I'm interested enough in the game at full price (partly because my system isn't great and partly because I have a million things to play) but I'd pick it up if others were interested.
  8. Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver

Awesome, I'm not the only thumb obsessed with these games. I have SoulSilver, have beaten the elite four but have not gotten any badges in Kanto yet. My college is lame, they don't allow any wireless gaming, so basically there is no way to get my DS online to trade with my Platinum and Diamond games. Luckily next semester I'm living off campus so won't have to deal with this bullshit. I have Feraligatr, Pidgeot, Weepinbell, Machoke, Haunter, and Gyarados (but he is only level 32 or something, need to find a replacement). I would say definitely, Gold/Silver was the best generation and this is a very faithful remake. Only thing is that now there are almost 500 pokemon instead of 250 or whatever there were in GS, so that will take a little getting used to since you didn't play Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Still I'd recommend one of the new ones over those.
  9. 2010 BAFTA Games

Definitely, there is no base building and you have a fixed number of units, and there are loot drops. But it's still a strategy game, or at least I don't know what else I would classify it as.I mean, FIFA Manager 10 and Football Manager 2010 were nominated.
  10. 2010 BAFTA Games

Glad fucking Uncharted didn't win GOTY at least, such a goddamn overrated game. Before everyone comes rushing to its defense, I do think it's a good game. I have nearly completed it, don't own a PS3 but been playing at a friend's place and I'm interested enough to want to finish the story. I think the combat isn't good though and there is too much of it, I would much rather have more puzzles and exploration. And I just don't like the whole "interactive movie" stuff, it annoys me that games have to be compared to hollywood to be considered legitimate. I would say the awards that annoyed me the most with Uncharted were the GDCAs, Uncharted won best technology (which it deserved) as well as best visual arts or something like that, aside from being a very pretty game (which I attribute to the technology) it's not like its visual style is more original or unique than like Brutal Legend's (which wasn't even nominated). It also won best story over Dragon Age and Brutal Legend, best audio over Beatles RB and Brutal Legend and others (I don't even think Brutal is that good of a game, but I think it excels in these individual categories), and was nominated for...best innovation. To me, a game with "2" in the title should not be eligible for an innovation award unless its completely different from its predecessor, which Uncharted 2 is not. Hopefully I'm not the only one who feels this way about it. Sorry for the sort of off topic rant, but at least it's related to awards. Also: Dawn of War II was not nominated for best strategy game at the BAFTAs. WTF?
  11. (IGN.com)

I think I posted that a ways back Love that quote.
  12. ファイナルファンタジーXIII

I can't get any of my jobs or whatever past level 2, is this the same for everyone or am I doing it wrong? I'm like 8 hours in probably.
  13. ファイナルファンタジーXIII

I'd kind of like it if the Japanese voices were on there, but 3 DVDs is enough for the 360 version so I understand why they don't have it on there. I'm heading to a midnight launch tonight with a friend, pretty excited for the game. Kind of wish it wasn't released this week, I am home for Spring break so I will have to play on a standard def tv instead of my HDTV at school for a week.
  14. http://www.last.fm/music/Idle+Thumbs/Baby+Save+Me I say sue them for using that name. Also, great episode!
  15. Steam maintenance?

    I blame Armchair.
  16. Diablo III Wizard News!

Not a huge fan of the concept art, but the in-game model looks decent. I think the female Wizard probably looks better though. Definitely the class I will be playing.
  17. Dragon Age

Dwarf mine area was by far too long and the most boring part of the game, I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was just fighting the same dudes over and over and when I got to the first boss I thought that was it, and then there was still a huge fight left after that.
  18. Comics

I just finished All-Star Superman volume 1 and will definitely be getting volume 2 at some point, a great story and I love how it is not contained to the Superman continuity (also I have never read Superman before). Now I am just starting The Sandman which is supposed to be amazing but I had never heard of it before a few weeks ago, I did not even finish the first chapter but so far it's interesting.
  19. Recently completed video games

I played The Dig yesterday in one sitting. Several LA adventure games I have never touched and that was one of them. I admit I used help when I'd get stuck because I kind of just wanted to get through it, but it was still a great time.
  20. Dawn of War 2

And we didn't get anywhere close to wave 15, we didn't even get past 10 today I don't think. Just imagine our score at wave 15! Game is so addicting even though it's the same map over and over, can't wait for the expansion, adds Tyranids and Chaos.
  21. Dawn of War 2

Yeah good times. Had never played Last Stand and it was tons of fun. Don't know how anyone gets by map 11, but I guess we said that about map 9 and ended up beating that pretty easily most times towards the end. And yeah jump packs are awesome, combined with the far seer's storm ability was a great combo.
  22. Mass Effect 2

I would certainly not base your decision whether or not to play Dragon Age on your experience with Mass Effect 2 as the games are completely different. Dragon Age was very clearly built with the PC in mind.
  23. Mice for gamers.

Logitech G5 owns, been using the same one for 2-3 years now. My roommate recently got a deathadder and it feels really good too.
  24. Face it thumbs, you wish you had slightly creepy dreams about The Idle Thumbs Podcast. Excellent episode dudes, I possibly lol'd more throughout this episode (especially at the beginning) than any of your other one episodes. I am super soaked for the next one.
