  1. Deus Ex 3

I am currently playing Deus Ex and liking it pretty well, or at least I can appreciate what it does well. I don't think the graphics and controls have aged well, but I can live with it. I think the trailer for this game looked pretty sweet, but I didn't have something in mind for how it "should" look. Also, I actually kind of like the title to this game.
  2. Exams are shit. Discuss

Congrats to both of you!
  3. Technology in classes/university.

I wish Microsoft Courier was still a real thing coming out, that would replace basically everything I'd need for classes. Currently, I bring my laptop to classes that are either really boring, or are computer science courses. I would love to have all my textbooks on an ipad or something because I use my textbooks so rarely but they are still required, it sucks to pay so much for them and lug them around everywhere. I'll take pen and paper notes if its a class with math like accounting or where the professor doesn't allow laptops.
  4. Other podcasts

I have been listening to A Life Well Wasted (finally) and the Rock Paper Shotgun show and I am liking them both, especially ALWW. One of the best produced shows I've heard, though I'm sure people have already said that in this thread. Oh also, Totally Rad Show. I had only seen one episode previously but I've watched / listened to a few more the past couple days and I'm liking it a lot too. Will definitely be adding it to my weekly schedule. I'd do the same to the two above if they released regularly.
  5. Recently completed video games

Baldur's Gate was also what I wanted and expected from Dragon Age and while I think it's the closest we've had since the original games, it definitely doesn't match up for me. Baldur's Gate (the first one) is one of my favorite games of all time though so it would have taken a lot for it to equal it in my eyes.
  6. Happy Birthday!

<3 Hermie Hope you had a good one!
  7. Other podcasts

I am liking Weekend Confirmed a lot, in fact I'd say it's my current favorite. The only others I have been listening to recently on a regular basis are the Bombcast and Gamers with Jobs. I also enjoy Irrational Behavior whenever they release one. Going to go through this thread now and find some others to pick up though as I need more throughout my weeks.
  8. Alpha Protocol

I've been looking forward to this one for a while (I've had it pre-purchased on Steam since last October when it was supposed to come out) but I'm also trying not to set myself up for a let down since there is definitely more negative than positive press about this game. I really like Obsidian though so I am hopeful, and the overall premise of the game is interesting at least.
  9. Recently completed video games

    You mean holiday 2011?
  10. Anybody Played...?

I am interested in playing this, and I didn't realize they had a digital version out, but I might hold off for now just because of the huge backlog of other stuff I have right now. Interested to hear if anyone else has played it though. I love what I've seen of the art.
  11. Call of Duty: Black Ops

This is not new, Treyarch puts out a game on the years that IW doesn't (CoD 3, CoD: World at War). So even if the IW/Atvi drama hadn't happened, Treyarch would still be making this year's game.
  12. Starcraft 2

I am not very happy with Amazon after a great track record with them. I pre-ordered the game on Saturday and still don't have my beta key. While it does say 5 business days, so that still gives them a couple days, it shouldn't matter, it's not like they have to do anything, it's just an automatically generated email. The thing that I'm even less happy about is the estimated ship date for SC2 from there. I did select free shipping after having very speedy shipping with that option for SSFIV (says 5-8 business days, only took 4), and once the game's release date was announced, I got an email from Amazon saying that the estimated arrival date was August 9-13. That is ridiculous, 2 weeks after the game comes out? I really hope they are just covering their ass with the estimate and it doesn't take anywhere close to that long.
  13. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Well I'll let you off the hook since they definitely aren't for everybody. Still, Chris Cornell has the greatest voice of all time, basically. Yeah, I saw that but am not going to go because I don't care for most of the other bands performing, they are only performing the last day also.
  14. Think I will save this one for my flight on Tuesday, hard to resist listening though.
  15. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I can't ever pass up the opportunity to show anything Chris Cornell-related: Soundgarden performing in 2010! crILNt7-kj8 I would have willingly sacrificed almost any of you to see them (hopefully I'll get a chance sometime this year). <3
  16. Best Boy Scouts badge, ever.

Haha, for one of my badges, public speaking or something like that, I asked if I could give a speech on Warhammer and my counselor said no because "war games aren't appropriate for scouting" or some nonsense. Also, very cool to see fellow Eagles here!
  17. Starcraft 2

Played my first match last night on my friends account as Terran, I lost but it was still a ton of fun. Went ahead and preordered it from Amazon shortly after, so hopefully I'll have my beta key in a few days. I know the beta won't be going on much longer but might as well still take advantage.
  18. Fallout: New Vegas

This is easily one of the games I'm looking forward to most this year. I just played Fallout 3 late last year, and I loved it. Chris Avellone is one of my favorite game designers (and Obsidian is one of my favorite studios).
  19. Best Boy Scouts badge, ever.

I'm an Eagle So yeah, this is awesome.
  20. Infinity Ward - MW2 news

How greedy can one man get? He already makes significantly more than all other CEOs in the gaming industry as far as I know. (Not that CEOs at other companies in other industries aren't just as bad or worse)
  21. Thumb Fortress 2

Yeah, I would definitely play this regularly, except I don't see the times working for me aside from possibly weekends (Saturday). In May-June I'll be on the west coast so that is even tougher. Fucking brits!
  22. Life

This thread moves too fast for me to keep up with. But congrats Miffy, and anyone else I missed that deserves congratulating! Good news on my end: got my summer internship to count for school credit, so I will end up graduating on time (Spring 2011). Originally I didn't think they'd let this one count since it is only vaguely related to my major, Information Systems, but I convinced them that it was the field I thought I'd end up in and they OK'd it. The internship is in online marketing and web programming. If they hadn't let this one count, I would have had to find one next summer in a more IT related field, which I'm only somewhat interested in.
  23. What's your favorite cold cut.

Ham used to be my favorite, but recently I'm a turkey guy.
  24. Exams are shit. Discuss

Only one exam left for me! Can't wait to be done. Next week I'm going to Cali for an internship.
  25. NeoGaf: Any of you post there?

I agree with most of you, while I sometimes like to browse SA or other large game forums, I could never keep up with them and post actively. I don't have time to read all the posts made here as it is.
