The whole thing!?This is probably an old topic but kind of disappointed they went down the route of the early demo preorder bonus. Obviously right now I am wishing I had pre-ordered as I am definitely buying the game when it comes out anyways, but in general I don't pre-order unless I think/know the game will run out of stock (WoW WotLK most recently). In any case, I already played a demo at E3, not sure if it was the same one and I didn't play the whole thing since people were waiting behind me but it had both hack and slash and driving levels.

I am in between these, but you should still buy it. Overall I like the SE but it could probably be better. When I play it, I switch between the original and new graphics. Hopefully someone will figure out how to get the voice acting in the original version, that is what I want most.

KotOR is my favorite game of all time. I'm a huge Star Wars guy so that helps, but I just thought it was so great and something we hadn't seen before. And having played KotOR before Mass Effect, you can see how much BioWare has taken from that and their previous games in terms of the characters and story. I never got bored with KotOR, but I thought Mass Effect's gameplay could become boring after a while, which caused me to not do most of the sidequests after the initial Citadel part. In comparison, I'd always do all the sidequests for KotOR.My personal opinion aside, I do also think KotOR is a better game than Mass Effect. A lot of times I personally like something better but know that something else is actually done better, but in this case for me KotOR is better on both counts.

I forgot ;o next week! -
I got my DS for pokemon. I'd like to still try this game out just because how fun coming up with different combinations of stuff sounds, but I'll probably wait on it as I have so much stuff to play on my DS and otherwise. Too bad it didn't quite live up to expectations though.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
Moelman replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
Any Thumbs a fan of Chris Cornell? He is my favorite singer by far. I didn't like his latest album Scream at first, but I guess I've gotten used to it. It's more R&B or something than Rock. But I love his other solo albums and his previous bands. If anyone doesn't know who he is, he did the opening theme to Casino Royale (You Know My Name), which is my favorite song, and was previously the lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave. -
I'm kind of glad others are like this as I have quite a backlog right now of unfinished games that I do plan to finish. Far Cry 2 Call of Duty 4 (only one level left lol) Fable II Dawn of War II No More Heroes Half-Life 2 Secret of Monkey Island SE Final Fantasy IV DS Chrono Trigger DS Castlevania Order of Ecclesia Quantum of Solace I'm also currently playing Braid and GTA IV. And there is so much on Steam I'd love to get, like more of the LucasArts releases, or some of the indie adventure games. Those are all I can think of, and with so much coming out this year and next, I wonder if I'll ever get through them all. A lot of them I've started but put down for other stuff.

I don't regularly listen to any other podcasts, but on occasion I'll listen to Giant Bomb, Gamers with Jobs, or Gamespot or IGN (lol). I've added A Life Well Wasted and Rock Paper Shotgun to my list to check out. edit: I lied, I've been regularly listening to Kotaku Talk Radio since they started a few weeks ago. It's good.

Let's see if I can remember all the ones I've actually completed... Mirror's Edge Tomb Raider: Underworld Assassin's Creed Halo 3 Prince of Persia Resident Evil 5 BioShock Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 1 & 2 Mass Effect The Beatles: Rock Band (story mode, I guess this counts) Not as many as I thought, though I've got several I'm working on and a bunch I'll most likely beat before the end of the year.

Yeah, it's hard to just jump into a comic series right now without knowing the backstory first, especially with so many of them going down odd paths (right now Batman is not Bruce Wayne, Spider-Man doesn't remember his marriage with Mary Jane, etc), so I think the trade paperbacks are the way to go at first.

That really sucks that the McCartney bass is only in the bundle, I didn't realize that. If I would buy any of the peripherals, it would be that one, but I guess not anymore. I still think the guitars are ridiculously priced by themselves.

Horror and surviving, but not survival horror
Moelman replied to ethanThomas's topic in Video Gaming
I would think Resident Evil 5 would start to fall under what you've described. It's definitely not survival horror anymore, no matter how reluctant Capcom is to acknowledge that. I would say the game is still somewhat survival because you still have to be careful about saving your ammo, and the odds are heavily against you. And I guess it's horror because there are zomb-err, infected villagers, but it's not really scary. But it's definitely much more of an action game now than survival horror, I guess you could call it survival action. -
Never played the original one even though it's out on Wii (I didn't have PS2), but this still looks cool. I'll definitely keep my eye on it.

Oh God, I am loving it. I am almost done with Abbey Road 68-69. Like thl said, I love some of the subtle improvements, like the countdown after you unpause. The game is beautiful and these songs are just so damn fun to play.

I just got a 32" Samsung 1080p last week and I've been playing 360 extensively on it, and had no problems with lag (including Rock Band 2). I've always had good luck with Samsung (well my first TV but I love their monitors) so I would recommend them.

I haven't used the RB2 instruments, but I have both guitar and drums from RB1, and I played one of the guitars from Beatles at E3. I could definitely tell it was an improvement from the RB1 guitar, but can't say if its just a remodeled RB2 one or if its even better. Not sure if they are worth $99 individually though when you can get RB1 and 2 peripherals pretty cheap these days.

Yeah, I understand why they need to do this, but the entire jungle looked nearly identical to the one in Screaming Narwhal. Overall I enjoyed the first episode more, but I'd kind of like to go back and give the second one another chance just because maybe if I hadn't been forced to play on a schedule to get my review done in time, I'd have enjoyed it more (yes I realize I had almost a week to play a short game but you see what I mean). Wasn't the case with the first one though, so I dunno. Definitely hoping the next chapter is at least better than Spinner Cay.

After killing us 20 times in a race yesterday, yes you deserve it. -
The PlayStation 3 is not just a game console, it's a Computer Entertainment System.

Mine is https://steamcommunity.com/id/Jeffu32 Already joined the Idle Thumbs group

Ah, I didn't know they had one with regular RB instruments. That's good as I don't know many people willing to shell out the $250 for the Beatles pack.

I know you're right about the actual film being capable of much higher resolutions than we are stuck with, but watching the movie I just meant visually it looked so clear that I couldn't see how it would be improved, if that makes sense. I had never watched a regular DVD on an HDTV w/ hdmi before so it was much better than I had expected. That said, I'd still buy BR releases of Star Wars in a heartbeat (if I had a BR player). But yeah, I see what you mean.

Yeah, the respawning enemies suck, I don't think I even realized that till a couple levels in. I'll have to give it a go and see if I can beat that last level sometime soon.
