Maybe issues wasn't the right word, for me it had issues with bugs and did not run very well on my PC for not having the greatest graphics (when games that looked better run smooth). I still definitely enjoyed it more than the original NWN, which for some reason I didn't think was that great, but I didn't play any of the expansions for it which people tell me the 2nd xpac for NWN1 is the best. You should get your girlfriend to play multiplayer with you! Or is she not that into it. That is one thing I love about DnD RPGs, and think it's too bad BioWare couldn't incorporate it into Dragon Age.

I thought the same thing until

I am like you, a sucker for Avellone's games, so I have played NWN2 and the Mask of the Betrayer Expansion and enjoyed both of them, especially MotB. I have the 2nd exp., Storm of Zehir but I've never played it (wasn't done by Avellone though). NWN2 definitely had it's issues and I think it's too bad it didn't fare better but I especially think it's fun to play multiplayer.

I am really looking forward to this one so glad they announced the release date. The only FF games I've played are III and IV for DS, but I'd like to try X and XII eventually (never had a PS2). Think the art is amazing in this game and obviously the graphics are too.

Now that I think about it, I haven't bought any Wii games this year. This will be the first one, whenever I decide to pick it up. Might wait till Christmas as well, not sure.

Yeah, you can really get a ton of time out of Dragon Age if you do sidequests and stuff. I am getting pretty close to the end of the game I think and I am almost at 60 hours played. I did a good amount of sidequests, but certainly not every one available.

Lack of online kind of sucks, but I am still going to pick this one up (eventually). I played a level or so of it at e3 and it was pretty crazy with 4 people, and I'd say the co-op is the main reason i'm interested. I am also glad that different places have been saying the game is actually hard. I just don't get Nintendo's justification for lack of online play. They say that this is the kind of game where it's more fun to be all in the same room playing and laughing and whatever, but why not include both features? Generally with games like SSBB, Rock Band, and other "party" multiplayer games, I play with my friends in the same room, but I'll play with people I know on the Internet online (obviously). Oh well.

I don't get it, my party is different now

Since the game has been patched I'm finding normal to generally be pretty reasonable, though there are still some "wtf" instances where it's like how can I easily beat this enemy but not this one... I am getting pretty close to the end but I am kind of stretching it out and doing all the sidequests that I started but never got around to finishing. I'm probably in the low 50s for hours played.

For Halo 3 vs. ODST, I enjoyed ODST's campaign more. Plus ODST comes with all of Halo 3's multiplayer, so unless you really want to play H3's campaign, I would say ODST is the way to go.

It's tough to say for Xbox 360. I am playing on PC and I rarely use the tactics menu, but I micromanage battles very much, like pausing constantly to give out orders and I always play from the tactical camera view. I'd recommend trying out different combinations of skills from the tactics menu though. There seems to be defaults that work out OK, but they can probably be improved upon. I'd imagine the tactics feature is more useful in the 360 version than on PC since it's harder to micromanage the individual units.

Idle Thumbs 50: "Farewell, Video Games" or "The Shitty Wizard"
Moelman replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Heh yeah, I wonder how many game purchases I made because of Idle Thumbs that I wouldn't have made otherwise. Definitely Far Cry 2. Probably Dawn of War II and possibly Torchlight though that one is getting a lot of pub elsewhere too. -
The entire dwarf part is way too fucking long. I finally beat it but god damn I was sick of that place.
-
Yeah I have finally gotten some time to fool around with it and I am continually being signed off. I know it's beta or whatever but I figured it'd be a little more polished.

I've just been invited from Google last night so I've added all you thumbs to my contacts. I am jmoeller1 @ googlewave.com. It says I have 20 invites so if anyone still doesn't have one I am willing to send them out, I am thinking they are doling out invites more and more now though. Maybe just coincidence but a friend of mine and myself got them at the same time.

"Modern Warfare 2 will blow you away." - IGN.com http://pc.ign.com/articles/104/1043744p1.html I guess no matter how much we make fun of "blow you away" they will never stop using it. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF- I fucking love Mirror's Edge, and this almost guarantees there won't be a sequel unless someone else acquires the rights (which won't happen since DICE is an EA company). There were so many flaws with the first that a sequel could have improved upon or added features (multiplayer races, map editor, better combat) that I couldn't wait to hear news about it...this is not the news I was looking forward to.
-
Yeah I don't get that either, does anyone know why that is the case?

American football is the only football. -
I'll probably buy the game used or something, no way I am not going to get it but it's certainly tempting. Originally I was going to get it on release day but no way I'll be done with Dragon Age so I can wait.

I have this on Xbox so haven't played it on PC but I think Resident Evil 5 has the best graphics out of any game this generation, so I think that'd be a great one to try if you don't already have it for consoles. I don't really have a game that I continually go back to on PC though, recently at least, as there is just so much to play I don't have time to both play everything I want to play and go back to older stuff.
