  1. Life

I just finished my last day at the TV station where I've been working for the last four and a half years. I literally feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
  2. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

I'd like to know how to do this too. My "Converted" information is now inaccurate.
  3. I would enjoy having a version of Link to the Past that I could play on my 3DS, but it just needs to be a virtual console version of the SNES game. That game holds up perfectly well as it is; Majora's Mask has a lot more to gain from a remake. (That said, I'd rather just have an entirely new game.)
  4. Anyone Remember?

I don't know the title of the game, but that was episode 35: "A Great Way to Have Fun."

They're going to reimburse me for a bit of the moving expenses, but other than that, they basically just recommended a couple of areas to search Craigslist for. I've already reserved a motel for a week (which came to about $500) and it looks like I'm going to have to do most of my apartment-hunting from there, since most of the people I've contacted so far are looking for people to move in immediately.

If you get it and need a roommate in San Francisco, hit me up. That's basically the situation I'm in right now.
  7. Plug your shit

Spoiler alert: I voted for Chris.

    A vacation from your problems!
  10. The Electronic Three: 2012

Wow, that Watch Dogs video does look pretty great. Any game where you can just walk around a city and observe things happening around you is basically my favorite game. The cutscenes and action stuff I can take or leave, but controlling the traffic lights? Sweet.
  11. Life

I originally found out about the job by pestering Jake and Famous about it at the PAX East Wizardmeet last year, but other than that, not really. I didn't really feel like listening to a podcast that some guys who work there are on made me all that much more qualified. I currently am scared as hell. I'm moving out there with only what I can fit in my car (no real furniture to speak of or anything), so rooming with someone would be ideal, but so far I'm not having much luck finding anyone willing. There are lots of Craigslist ads, but since I won't actually be in the area for a few more weeks, people don't seem to want to wait on me before renting to somebody else. It looks like I'm probably just going to need to stay in a motel or something for a week or so and try to find something from there once I'm actually in town.
  12. Thanks! Cinematic layout artist. How bad is the San Francisco morning commute traffic? I looked at the Google Maps average traffic things and it didn't look too terrible. But I suspect San Francisco not-terrible might mean something different from Tallahassee not-terrible. Right now I'm just trying to find someplace cheap to stay for the short term while I get settled in, and then once subbes can find work in the area she'll move over there with me and we'll look for something more permanent.
  13. Since this is the thread for talking about the bay area: I just got a job at Telltale and am going to be moving there in a couple of weeks. Does anybody (a) need a roommate or ( have any suggestions for relatively affordable places to live near San Rafael?
  14. Goodreads

http://goodreads.com/shammack I also am terrible about keeping up with that site, but maybe this time I actually will!
  15. Movie/TV recommendations

I think that's fair when the star is also the writer and producer, and the movie basically only exists as a vehicle for said star.
  16. Minecraft

Oh man, I've been waiting for a feature like that for SO LONG.
  17. Infinite Jest

It's been a long time since I read that book, but the one image that's always stuck with me more than any other is .
  18. G4ming Keyb0rdz

I have a Saitek Cyborg V.5, which I bought mostly because I'd spilled something on my old Mac keyboard and I thought it would be funny to have a Saitek Cyborg (due to all the mentions of the Cyborg mouse on the Idle Thumbs podcast). It has a red backlight, but other than that, it's pretty much just a keyboard.

  20. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

Are thread tags gone for good? I'm super curious about those mysterious dots under some avatars. I don't know whether I should be proud or ashamed that I have them.

I hope you had caught up with all the videos in the "Threat of Big Dog" thread before that happened.
  22. Kerbal Space Program

I played this a year or so ago and had some fun building ridiculous rockets and trying to get them in the air, but the game was in a pretty early state and there wasn't a whole lot you could do. I think it was possible to get to the moon, but I never managed to do it. I should probably check out the new version.

  24. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Hopefully after you open enough drawers, a huge face will fill the screen and scream at you. (But seriously I'm looking forward to playing this. The real game, I mean.)
  25. NPC Pikmin 1 definitely supports widescreen. I would assume Pikmin 2 does also, but only a European would know for sure.
