  1. Comics

Just finished Daredevil Noir (Spidey got read first). Both are as fantastic as they are wonderfully dark. Daredevil is clearly superior. The art in both books is great. Each has it's individual style, but both capture the 1930's aesthetic well. Note: Neither of these images are spoilers, and I think my camera is on the vivid colour setting, hence the bright pink hands.
  2. Dawn of War 2

Well for early waves, 1-9, we stay planted Jeff on the left point, me on the right, and Illeria covering both. From wave 10 we head north, Illeria casting storms and jeff and I dropping in and out of crowds of enemies.
  3. Dawn of War 2

We managed to increase our high score again, I've decided to start doing screen shots now too. This was the second time we got to wave 12, and promptly got destroyed.
  4. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

ALSO Thumb [insert name] is not a good combination of words.
  5. Life

Don't get me wrong, I still love a LOT of metal: Anthrax, Lamb of God, BTBAM, Gojira, Mastodon, the list goes on. It just seems that the community are really crap, liking stuff like Power Metal, Folk metal, Metallica, again this list goes on and on. Again I also like a lot of Hard Rock, along the lines of Priestess and Baroness. I guess I just want my music to be progressive, or at least honest if it isn't. Essentially every "metal" club should play the Brutal Legend soundtrack.
  6. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

The one thing which makes me choose Thumbs over Thumb is the fact that when I played with clans (SAP for Unreal, WAR for Halo, WAR WERE CRAP, I quit when I realised they "recruited" me for being good at the game..) they were dubbed as the SAP/WAR Clan, Thumbs clan sounds more appropriate to Thumb clan, despite not being a clan in the general sense.

FUCK! I think I have left my genre of choice (for clubs etc behind: Metal). Of course I still love plenty of metal bands but the rest made me want to hit people (I didn't). It finally clicked that a lot of it was essentially pop music with highly distorted guitars and growling singers. The majority of what I have listened to in the past few weeks is pop punk (ala New Found Glory) and JRock. It feels more honest. I have no idea how I feel about this. Maybe my brain works differently (it most likely does). Maybe it's due to my (relatively) short attention span with genres of things. Aside: I am over the girl I mentioned previously, I saw a cute girl today but my slight revelation interrupted my approach...
  8. Portal ARG?

I'd expect it was just a console command or mod giving the value.
  9. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

0PjtFXgmHbM On the JRock subject, I listened for the name, they are pretty rad though.
  10. General Video Game Deals Thread

Street Fighter IV is £12.50 on the same GFWL deal that Arkham Asylum was.

Yeah, it's not as polished. Dice are used to making multiplayer games though, with a few exceptions, this is definately a good stab at it. CoD feels like a shooting gallery to me, with this the enemy locations are clearly scripted, but with the game being more open there are more options for the player. So say there is a building closer to the enemy I can go there, even if the door is closed. It's not that I don't like linear shooters, I do, Valve just does them better, making them feel more open than they actually are. That said, when this game is run in 16:9 the widescreen cutscenes have a few lines of pixels below the lower black border. I should probably add I love the Battlefield series.
  12. La Celle Splintereux: Conviçion

Generally the steam versions of games are identical to the disc version, though you don't get a disc. I personally have never had a bad experience with any DRM [touch wood], then again I only have programs I use on my PCs. I really don't see why Ubi are doing this (well I do). There is one simple problem with it, piracy is not the same as lost sales, generally. If anything harsh DRM encourages piracy, the only people it seems to help is those who build it. God I'm becoming a PC gamer aren't I...
  13. Movie/TV recommendations

Akira. Though definately not my most watched film, everything about it just clicks. I will also stand by my opinion that Once upon a time in Mexico is the best film ever made, for one simple reason: , this may or may not be an entirely serious claim.
  14. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Damn, he has a fantastic voice. Just bought their 'Yggdrasill' album through itunes, despite not understanding any amount of Japanese it's still pretty rad. Also it gives me new music to listen to at uni tomorrow!
  15. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

I would, Far less linear than CoD, though not as open as Halo. Yes some of the enemy spawns are completely transparent, but it's damn fun. The environments are not only gorgeous but also really fun to play with.
  16. Left 4 Thumbs 2

    Loud is better than quiet.
  17. Just Cause 2

Huh? I like steam DRM (as much I can a form of DRM). Also grappling hooks are fun.
  18. Assassin's Creed II

It's for the ubisoft equivalent, I think. You get points which you can redeem towards in game bonuses.
  19. Dawn of War 2

Well the game uses peer to peer connection, maybe there lies the problem. I play mostly with Jeff and Illeria and we get max pings of 220 ish, with isn't bad for cross Atlantic.
  20. Diablo III Wizard News!

    Fixed
  21. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

BF2 Modern Combat on the Xbox had a pretty well meaning Single player game. The single player of BC2 is pretty solid though.
  22. Dawn of War 2

Try a local mp game against bots?
  23. Just Cause 2

The demo is up on Steam. Also it was announced that the retail version would use steamworks DRM: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/62573. which is cool.
  24. Dawn of War 2

    No, you.
