I'm going to start a lobby in a few minutes, 1900GMT.

Yeah, that's actually a great subject to do it on: a friend from high school learnt to read English because of a Monkey Island game, it was either 1 or 2. Thanks for the well wishes also.

I knew that... It's either on your twitter or blog. -
A new multiplayer game (for the times when left for lobby gets too much)
Patters replied to Armchair General's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Well, with BFBC2 ping doesn't affect so much.bullets register as they should. The lowest I have seen in BFBC2 is 150 ish, and I apparently get amazing pings on source games (30ish), though I am sure source lies about this. -
Oh sorry. I was just making a (bad) joke. Any time is good.

A barrel roll?

I have what I think is a date a week today. A quasi-date if you will. It's with a cute girl from uni. Upsides being, if all goes well, she's vegetarian, which while I have been for my whole life, isn't a criteria I look for, it however is certainly a positive. I'm also in my midterms. coursework period, which isn't too bad at the moment. Which means I have cut down on drinking recently. Sunshine is making life a lot easier.

Fantastic game chaps. -
Oh OK a livery is essentially the collection of vinyls and decals which are there for aesthetic and advertising reasons. So these are examples of them: I'm not expecting this to start from tomorrow, in fact when Wrestle gets back would be an ideal time to start it. I have toyed with a Renault 5 and an Audi Quattro, both are good, though the Quattro has the edge for me.
-
In short I'd like a race with all rally cars. Who tend to be built for quick acceleration both off the line and out of corners and good handling. I put forward the livery idea as I love rally liveries, of all types of rally WRC and Rally America alike. Keep it in B class.

Steam keeps everything on one HDD, I had no problem transferring from a 250gb to a 500gb other than the time it took. It doesn't have to be your equivalent of the c:// drive

I was more aiming for a race with actual rally liveries. There are a ton of free ones on the storefront. Some example cars are: 1983 Audi sport Quattro Renault 5 Turbo BMW M3 E30 (there is a good free design for this one) Any Lancia Any Focus. If you would like I could see if I could spec up a car for you? Send me a preferred base car and I'll see what I can do. You would have to buy the design yourself though. Aside: I really like building cars in this game.

I use a combination of web and Seesmic. Seesmic integrates lists fairly well, so you can make a list of people you would follow if they didn't fill your stream (ala Kevin Smith).

Since our race last week was fantastic, I would like to put forward: Rally Special, a single lap around Ralli, with B class cars. 4 wheel drive advised, Liveries required. Advised cars would be Imprezas, Evos, Focuses (4WD).

Yeah, a few of the predominant multiplaying thumbs don't like TF2, or at least didn't manage to get into it. The only reason it happened was due to XBL being down on GTA day. We use voice chat to co-ordinate, and have AWESOME conversations. We have tended towards using Skype for larger games and those which use GFWL. -
I think that there is going to be a pretty big resurgence of native mac gaming. With both Valve and Telltale making their libraries compatible, Dice are also looking at (maybe) putting Bad Company 2 on Macs. It's a good time for mac users.

Yeah Miffy is right, it's the Roman Numeral for 52. I should be in. -
I think C&C4 is heading for a cloud gaming system in a slightly different direction to that which Valve are approaching from. I think Ubisoft offers the ability to keep your save games online, which at this point is not enough for me to accept that I need a constant internet connection. I personally have never had a problem with any sort of DRM, which is probably due to not using, hence not having, any conflicting programs. I know that others have legitimate problems with it. My main gripe with the Ubisoft system is that it seems particularly vulnerable to DOS attacks. Something such as this allows those commiting the attack preventing legitimate players from playing the game. Obviously with C&C4 it is unclear whether it will be subject to a torrent of such attacks. Ideally I would like PC gaming to head towards one unified system, such as Steam. Though keeping the system open to any and all developers. Though with the PC being a far smaller market that consoles, I doubt that publishers will accept this. I reckon Ubisoft have only implemented this is as a form of damage control, with the amount of money they have lost this financial year.

I played the majority Invisible War on Xbox, with no knowledge of it's predecessor other than it's existence. It was pretty fun, though looking back it's clear to me that it wasn't suited to either a PC or an Xbox. $5 yeah. Hell I bought the whole bundle for a mere £10.
-
Hi new people! I would assume this is the site. With it being set as his homepage.
-
Yeah, I'm in the same position, I want Conviction on PC, with it being cheaper and my system of preference. I really hope they switch to Steam DRM too, which I guess is unlikely.
-
Yeah, I have X Men and Wolverine on their way. I'll order Luke Cage and Punisher when they are out and cheaper. I'm a hard cover fiend.

Nice read! I personally don't think I undergo the Hyper-focus in an FPS, though I do in games such as Ninja Gaiden, a racing game or a bullet hell game. Though for me this is closer to a trance, losing focus from the screen and just letting my mind process what is happening, I have no idea how it works, but it does. On the subject of spectating, I can see the enjoyment of it. My ex of several years ago seemed to love watching us playing Halo lan games, despite her not being a gamer. I have never been into it really, other than fighting games. Though I guess with Scoops mentioning of Gears of War in the latest 'cast, I remember very fond memories of watching others play over the net, after I had died, though this was for tactical reasons as we used the party chat, and we were damn good at the game.
