The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 4: Super Expert Pro
Patters replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
It's a legit site, I believe I got linked to it by Marek or another UK based Thumb, sorry I can't remember who. I ordered a shirt, I'll let you know when I get it. -
Nah, I just like opening up and taking apart things, computers and arcade sticks are just two recent examples.
-
The one thing which would interest me about this, above anything else, has been done by Tested (sister site to Giantbomb). Taking the thing apart. http://www.tested.com/ipad-autopsy-video-we-take-apart-an-ipad/47-24/

According to several fairly reliable sources it is having a slight resurgence. 2,363,008 on steam at this point is not something to scoff at.

Gonna back James and Groucho here.

Really? MIT, Stanford, Colombia, Berklee college of music? Don't choose a university because it is recognised by the general populace of where you Would like to live, employers would have a better understanding of that. I have known people to drop out of both Oxford and Cambridge, just because they didn't enjoy the locale. University is about more than your future, for a large part, it's likely to be the last time you can be a kid. Don't listen to the crap about league tables or any of that, it's complete bollocks, hell before I started Hull were above Manchester for maths, despite not having a maths department. Probably the easiest way to tell how well renowned a university is, in a particular school, is by finding out how many international students they get and how busy the course generally is. Consider the city, then decide whether you would enjoy living there for 3 or more years.

Probably up to a second wouldn't make too much difference except maybe in pro Starcraft 2 games.

Fools and those that see the comical value are the only ones to buy it.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Really liking the single from Flobot's 3rd abum, featuring the singer from Rise Against. I have the album on the way from the US, really looking forward to it arriving. Lsgbb23z27w -
If you would like to come then I can try and find a pub which would let you in?
-
Yes, All 3 are beatable at any point in any order. The game directs you to do the one on the island first.
-
From what I have heard Clash of the Titans was not filmed in 3D, they did some trickery and made it 3D from the original 2D version. I could be entirely wrong though.

Red for the japanese layout, Blue for the US layout. Buttons always tend to follow the following pattern of commands: LP MP HP LK MK HK You may want to try the US button set-up, though I play with the Japanese one. Assuming you are American: Amazon have the PS3 SE SFIV stick for $40, which is a great deal. Keep in mind if buying this stick, you will want to upgrade it, there are no major problems doing it though. With Hori sticks upgrading is made a lot harder. I found that the SE was a great stick to start with, it didn't cost that much and it's damn easy to upgrade.

I don't know, a gamer is involved in the game to a degree which on watching a film or reading a book cannot be. You call one who does the activity they do then add a suffix of -er: writer, cinematographer, runner, etc; with the exception of musicians who take the suffix -ist. If anything I think the term game is becoming more irrelevant, with the nature of many "games" not being entirely game-like.

I have 7 gym badges, I have not encountered any Pokemon from the 3rd or 4th generation yet, though the games are entirely compatible with pearl, platinum and diamond.

I think the law regarding 16 and 17 year olds is along the lines of they may buy an alcoholic drink along with a meal, at the discretion of the bartender.

Damn this game is as good as I remembered. The additions are great, I'd probably say this is the most complete Pokemon game released. the Pokewalker is kind of weird though, particularly as you can only gain one level from a walk. So say if I went on a walk of more than 4 miles I am almost guaranteed a level for any Pokemon, though if I walk 8 I get the same reward, neglecting the watts concept. I guess overall it's a good thing to get kids to exercise more though.

Actually casino may be a better bet, they also have Blazblue. I'm good with either plan at this point, what views do others have?

Bristol isn't a good city for a meet up, considering it is both no in the ideal location nor does it have great Transport links to most places. It would take me 3 hours to get there from just north of London, others even longer. If a meet-up with those from The European mainland then a big city with multiple/large airports, I know Bristol has an airport, though it wouldn't have the large amounts of transport links to London would be better. As for the meet up would Saturday be a better day for people, Nevsky and James are any of the pubs you were considering near Piccadilly Circus (close to both Gamerbase and the Trocadero arcade), if so can you give me the names so I can give them a call, asking prices etc. watching a load of competitive games is always pretty cool, particularly Street Fighter, and DDR as the article Nevsky linked to suggested. Doing that then going to a pub for a couple of hours would be pretty cool.

So with m new DS I have found a ton of good deals on DS games old and new: GTA Chinatown wars £14 Rhythm Paradise £7 I also picked up Elite beat agents for £8 though that is out of stock now.
-
Not a fan of the design of the lite. Plus I want the downloadable games sooner rather than later. Which is also disregarding that the 3DS is likely to come to Europe later than this year.
-
Yeah Nevsky either the 10th or 11th. So ideas: We could go to the Trocadero Arcade or (Mathematical or) Gamerbase Then onto a pub recommended by a Londoner. Preferences?

With relation to both of these, I have played a lot of video games with girls, which to be honest ain't a bad thing, hell one of my best friend's exes played a lot of quake. One of my favourite gaming experiences ever: getting the Endure achievement in Halo ODST was with a girl http://www.bungie.net/stats/odstg.aspx?player=patters666&gameid=27828321. I have had one adverse experience gaming with girls, in Halo 3, in the prime of my career, me and friends happened to be playing a team of girls, which in itself would not be a bad thing. They played to every stereotype the 14 year olds would like them to, they were flirtatious, though when we didn't respond to it, that changed. They became obnoxiously foul mouthed, terrible people who we proceeded to destroy. I would like to see an increase in respect to female gamers, though I don't see how it can be done. Though for this to happen people need to stop being awful.
