  2. Spam Email

I have never had any spam to my Gmail account, nor my AOL account when I used that.
  3. Red Dead Thumb

No gun, no horse. He's no cowboy
  4. Red Dead Thumb

The way I see it, if you DON'T buy it on 360, you are doing the game a disservice. Cowboys are American, the 360 is made by an American company, the PS3 isn't.
  5. The Best of PC Gaming

Yeah, I'd go with that. The main problem with gaming laptops is that they tend to get hot. The second one I linked to seems to be the best offer from Newegg.
  6. The Best of PC Gaming

The closest I built on Newegg was $715 with $50 mail in rebate. Which is easily dropped by about $100 by picking a weaker GPU and a dual core processor opposed to quad. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146612 decent laptop. EDIT2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220707 even better EDIT3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220715 another promising laptop.

  9. The Best of PC Gaming

It's worth giving the UT2003 and UT demo's a shot. See how they run, they will probably be enough UT for most people. You should be able to run most games from GOG, there is a hell of a lot of good PC games there, Blizzard has a decent digital store also. Following your dad getting a new PC, has he got a budget, the newegg ones I pointed out could well be ideal, if you were to get a harddrive for games, I'd suggest internal, USB just won't cut it. EDIT: He's American.
  10. The Best of PC Gaming

Civ 4 The Dawn of War series All valve games Stalker Unreal Tournament (1 and 2004) To name but a few.
  11. I need help identifying a game

OK. So I remember a demo on my dad's Amiga, the one thing I particularly remember was a similar room to the first room of Beneath a Steel Sky, though the second floor was at the back and the staircase was on the right side of the room. Said room was more of a lab, with a green and white colour scheme.
  12. GTA IV

I killed Playboy X simply for his penthouse... yeah I'm a bad person.
  13. Mini Thumbs meet?

So I'm going back home for Easter, and have very little to do over the 3 weeks off I have. I was wondering if any of you London Based thumbs were up for anything between the 29th of March and the 18th of April. Ideas are more than welcome. EDIT:
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah I can see where you are coming from. Though for me Kick Ass is much more stylised violence opposed to horrific. I guess I don't have a problem with a little girl killing a ton of guys.
  15. Mini Thumbs meet?

Yeah, as much as I suck at Street Fighter, I still really enjoy it. I kind of wish you could do custom games on the arcade cabs opposed to having to time it. Played a few games of MVC2, and then when returning later to see if it got busier a game of SFII. It's much more laid back than Trocadero is, I would have liked the MVC2 cab to be louder though.
  16. Giantbomb- Now with quests.

You have to go to the 2 games he was used in.
  17. Mini Thumbs meet?

Thanks for the tip, we had no problem getting machines. In fact it was busier at 5 than at around 9. Casino was pretty cool, with a really nice set of fighting games.
  18. Keeping your data safe

Really bizarre spam, seemingly normal then later edited.
  19. Mini Thumbs meet?

Edit, it seems as hough Nevsky, n0wak and I will be there from 5pm. come one come all.
  20. iPad

Yeah, I've wanted a Zune HD since they were announced, though it seems unlikely to come out over here, which while bullshit isn't relevant here.
  21. Life

Dude you read the whole thread??!!! Wither way have finally got some plans for summer: 2000 trees again it is, being drunk in a field with live music > most things ever. I'm also considering trying out polyphasic sleep, particularly after the guy on the Irrational Podcast mentioned it.
  22. If it's done anyway similarly to other ranked systems it does affect the probability. Mostly I am going to use the Halo 3 model, which is the basis of most systems, at least the theory behind it. Firstly the skill distribution is a bell curve, so to maintain this if one is to increase his skill level, another has to decrease. So say I have a skill rank of 10 and I play against someone who is rank 11 I am more likely to go up than against a rank 9. With increasing ranks you are partied against stronger players. However you look at this, the best player is less likely to win against someone who is a rank 50 opposed to a 10, assuming they are all ranked accordingly. Though with Halo 3 this has been gamed and thus the system has been effectively broken.
  23. Red Dead Thumb

This looks pretty rad. 360 for me.
  24. Mini Thumbs meet?

OK So I'm heading down to arrive at Casino Arcade for 6pm, it seems likely that n0wak will be joining for a while. I'll probably be wearing this shirt, then head onto a pub at about 8pm.
