I completely forgot about this. FUCK YES GOLDEN SUN DS
-
They announce cool things but the Speeches are pretty boring, Microsoft and EA were the best last year in relation to this.

Throne room and in reference to Anno 1404/Dawn of discovery, with a side of Civ.

PC yeah, hit me up on Steam.

Maybe I should give DA another shot, but from what I played it felt a lot less like Splinter Cell than this, I always played the series without guns, except for taking out lights. I can take guys hostage, pull them off ledges and if worst comes to worst, I know I have a fuckton of ammo in my SC2K (SC3K in Conviction) to take out the guys. For me Splinter Cell is all about hunting down a guy and dispatching him silently, I never really used any gadgets really. Back in the day I played the super hard difficulty where you didn't get ammo.

Ubisoft Montreal have essentially already made that game 3 times. I would have preferred the final(?) Fisher game to be a traditional Splinter Cell, though I can see why they have done this. I knew from the start this wasn't a true splinter cell game. I found that later on there are more opportunities to use stealth were greater towards the end. It's much more of a 24/Die Hard game than it should be. Traditional Splinter Cell died with the atrocity that was Double Agent on current generation consoles.

Splinter Cell Conviction though as a traditional Splinter Cell

Idle Thumbs, creeps in to your subconscious and eventually ruins your life. Being in a pub and either a Wizard or Jeff 'GAMEGOLD' Goldblum being mentioned is the worst.

Yeah, it gets much better when you get to the trade quarter. At this point I am in the countryside again . I really like the conflicts between the Humans and non-humans, at this point I am aligned with the latter.

Yeah the guild is pretty great. I haven't seen the 3rd season yet though. It's really cool Microsoft back it.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 7: Remember the Airfield

It was Whitney Hills, http://haymaker-games.com/. -
I wouldn't, The 2 Monkey Island games being treated this way simply didn't age that well, 2 less so of course. Which of course isn't to say that they aren't incredibly important, they are. Later Lucasarts games were far better with interface and presentation, particularly Full Throttle. A HTR remake would be a graphical overhaul with it already being fully voiced. The graphical overhaul is the biggest problem with these games too, read the opinions given in this thread showing how dearly people hold these games.

IW never really seemed to care about the CoD franchise, it has been developed by 5 other development studios with the earliest being released in 2004, maybe they didn't have any choice, but nothing has been vocalised before the 5th title.

In addition to this there are the side games such as Big Red One and Finest hour.

That would be ideal, I have one more week of lectures and heading down that weekend would be good. Casino arcade is great if there aren't too many people and they like fighting games. I'm not particularly familiar with London pubs, though the one near Casino Nevsky and I went to was pretty nice and pretty quiet for a Saturday, I think it was called the Rising Sun.

It's England.

I know it was in a GWJ cast, I don't believe it was in Idle Thumbs.
-
Yeah but they'll give you a reach around whether you want it or not, or so I've heard.

It's an RAF village I think? It's about 30 miles from Cambridge, less to Peterbourgh. It doesn't seem to have particularly good transport links to any of these places though. It's probably a very Conservative area, most villages in the neighbouring counties are. It's likely a very quiet place.

I've come back to it and I'm now 17 hours in. I find the sort of Medieval detective thing great, though the second proper area of the game does drag on for far too long. I love how the accents of the characters are so diverseone minute you are talking to a guy with a thick southern American accent then you talk to his buddy and he has an English accent, despite them being from the same place.

I would be up for it. Weekends are preferable.

So with the recent announcement to the Special versions of Halo Reach, for which I am quite interested in the Legendary edition. I'm no stranger to buying these versions of games, with the latest ones I have bought being Forza 3, Mass Effect 2 and Blazblue, all of these are quite cool, especially Forza 3, it seems right to detail what these editions come with: Forza 3: A really smart looking case which contains the game, a keyring, a USB stick and and exclusive DLC pack. The DLC includes access to cars gifted by Turn 10 often with superb paintjobs. Mass Effect 2: Again a really smart case along with a great steelbook box for the game. Along with this there is a nice comic and a reasonable artbook. Finally there is a code for some throwaway DLC (armour and a gun). Blazblue: Probably the worst of the three, the containing box is a flimsy cardboard, though what is contained is better. A pretty cool art book is included (of higher quality than that in ME2, though not hardback) and a DVD covering how to play the game, which has information learnt from high end players, giving strategies and tips on every character. I'm not going to get into the worthless ones such as BFBC2 and Splinter Cell Conviction Shadow Edition, with their throwaway early unlocks and exclusive DLC. So what is your view on Special Editions and what are some you have seen that you like or dislike?
