The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 11: Diplomatic Pouch
Patters replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Proceeds to give Chris the obligatory bro fist bump (or high five which ever he prefers), whilst simultaneously kicking him in the balls. -
Ok let me put it differently. The game is the successor to the novels, Geralt is a highly established character with specific politics. His interactions with both those known previously and those entirely unknown to him would have had to been scripted, entirely, to make it believable. Yet with the solution of amnesia it is highly possible for Geralt's perception to have changed through alteration of his politics related to the amnesia. The Witcher deals with amnesia in a much better way than any other game I have played has. Unlike in something like KotOR (which I love) where it was the big twist.

It's great fun, I'll post some screenshots once my hideout is finished.
-
Did I play a different game to everyone else? There were plenty of characters in Geralt's past that were important to the game.

Sorry, but you're wrong, it's more than a disagreement. A lot of the people that I would play this with are across the Atlantic, if I can't even get a custom game going with them then the product is useless. They took out lan play so I can't even bypass it with a VPN. If Blizzard wants to keep ranked games regional that's perfectly fine, in fact it's a good choice for high level players. Then say that you can play with X group of people but not Y, it's segregation, which from history we know is a very bad thing. Hell if anything it might affect competitive Starcraft, often movements in strategies are local, spread by the internet. This is all hypothetical though.

I finished year 6 of Forza 3, the last proper year. Easily the best game of 2009 (for me) and definately the best deal of 2009. I'd probably go as far to say that it's the best racing game ever made. Gran Turismo 5 certainly has it's work cut out. If the rumours of Forza 4 coming out in late 2011 are true, I have to wonder if there is a new console due then, I can't see them getting much more out of the 360. Also I really approve of their DLC model: a car pack of 10 cars is released every month for $5, each DLC has a free version with one accessible car and the ability to see the others online.

Wait, so I can't play games cross Atlantic? That's a serious reason for me not to buy it.

I'd much prefer GTA, RDR has no substance for me.

2100 BST or in 16 and a bit hours.

I'm up for some GTA, hopefully enough people will be around. If there isn't too many people then we could try the long awaited GTA PC.

Seeing as he pretty much died/did die before the game and was missing for 5 ish years, he would have had to recover all of his strength. I expect considering the apparent severity of the attack he would have lost most of his muscle tissue, through recovery.

Red Dead Redemption, I liked the beginning and the end. I'm fucking sick of the Rockstar formula though, every god damn mission felt the same. Also don't make missions only available at certain times of day. The world and soundtrack were fantastic everything else, not so much. GTA IV > RDR

I think Pirate is more taking issue with the relation to asperger's syndrome.

Awesome, I'll listen tomorrow. -
Came across a couple of glitches today: If you roll into the left side of the ship that you use as a bridge this can happen: Hk0V0ScL-0M Also if you pick up another persons turret you can lose your weapon, entirely (either that or Sean "Famous Bandanaman" Vanaman stole my god damn shotgun as he was the only other person playing commander). It's also interesting to see how people who are unfamiliar with the game play, we had a very proactive medic. It was more of a test to see how well the game capped though. Expect a later version with the wizard over it. cbnDgxxJzgM

I am awesome at killing my team. Seriously, if I have a shotgun stand BEHIND me. I reckon it may be due to playing a lot of shmups, I kill everything. Aesthetically it really reminds me of Shadow Complex, the lighting in particular seems very similar.

Fuck. You. It's pretty great though.

Couple of points to throw out: LAN parties still very much exist, hell over here we have a subsidiary of HMV called Gamerbase. The one in Manchester is really good, offering free play events, tournaments, etc. The second players portals in Portal 2 would likely be a pair of complimentary colours: red and green or yellow and purple.
